I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is somewhat satisfactory to me.  We are following up with contractor/ installer; however, it is odd to me that a warranty from YD Windows can say it is invalid if the product is installed improperly and then for them to say they are not experts in how it should be installed (after all they are the manufacturer of the product).  Given [redacted]'s response to the Revdex.com explicitly states that our warranty is valid, I will accept his response but if we have future issues b/c YD Windows deems our installation make the warranty invalid then I'll raise concerns again. Thanks, [redacted]

Yd window has been in contact with customer I have left several messages with customer. I have email customer about her concerns which is attached. I have explained that YD window is not a licenced contractor we are only the manufacture of the product therefore we are not experts on installations. I...

have email customer explained that her warranty is valid and if she has any issues with the door not working properly that she can request a service on the product and YD window will then send a technician out to determine problem and repair product. Customer at this time has not requested a service or complained of the operation of the door. Yd window does not cover installation issues The installer is a third party hired by homeowner. If customer is concerned with the install I would recommend her contacting another installer to inspect.Thank you [redacted]YD Window

Review: We purchased a newly built home in Oakland a year ago. With it came installed large, multi slide doors manufactured by YD Windows Incorporated which have a 10 year warranty. After we moved it, we had a very heavy rain and the windows leaked because the installer did not put in the right sill pan which would have been provided by Associated Building Supply ([redacted]/). The installer came and took out the entire set of multi-slide doors to patch the flooring. At the same time we asked YD Windows to come service the doors b/c the sealants were popping out. When they did their representative informed us that the multi-slide doors has been installed incorrectly (i.e. he couldn't lift them off the tracks and it would require ripping out all of the metal surrounding the multi-slide doors to service them properly). We then called our installer and asked him to bring a representative from YD Windows to confirm if the installation was indeed incorrect w/ under warranty with YD Windows they won't replace them/ fix them if installed improperly. Our installer (builder) then brought a representative from Associated Building Supply and NOT YD Windows. When we realized what had happened we reached out directly to YD Windows repeatedly to ask them for a service visit to confirm if the installation was correct and their warranty still valid. After months and months of calls back and forth (they were never available to take my immediate call but would call back within an hour or so - at a time I indicated in my voice mail that I was not going to be available) with no information and eventually called to say they couldn't help us. At this point we have no remedy other than to file with the Revdex.com and hope that others don't have such a bad experience as we did.Desired Settlement: For YD Windows Incorporated to state, in writing that our multi-slide doors were installed correctly and are still under the 10 year warranty. And if they were NOT installed correctly then we will follow up with our installer and Associated Building Supply for a remedy.
