I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I was informed that the total procedure would cost $825.90, and they are now billing me for a total of over $without any additional work being done and with no complications to explain the increased billing amountThis is a classic bait and switch and they are now saying I am responsible for the artificially inflated amount with no recourseThis has nothing to do with an insurance claim, I am asking for the bill to be corrected to the original agreed upon price

In response to complain #[redacted] the patient stated that we charged him an inflated amount for his procedures. All of our fees are set based on the type of procedure we will be completing. We do not change our fees based on the complexity of the treatment or if the patient has or doesn't have insurance. The set fee for the procedure we completed on this patient is $1550, there were no inflated charges added to his bill. Our patients are given an estimate of what the insurance company says they will cover, this was provided by his insurance company. When the insurance company paid on his claim the coverage was less than what we were told by the insurance company. This is frustrating for the patient and for us. Our fees are the same for each procedure. We are upfront about our fees and how insurance is handled. We have called and talked to the patients insurance company, they have informed us that our contract with them does not apply to all policies. The fact that this patients policy is one that the contract does not cover is the reason for the difference in benefits and estimate that was given. Our patients are told of an estimated amount that will be due the day of service for them based off of the information we are given from their insurance company. Our office policy states that we will be happy to file insurance and have the insurance company pay us directly. The patient will be...

responsible for any portion of the fee that is not covered by the insurance. All insurance will be verified to the best of our ability before treatment is completed and the patient will be given an estimated amount due on date of service based off the information we receive. If the insurance company does not pay the remaining amount, we will send the patient a statement for the difference. This policy is in our paperwork packet and requires a patient signature. In this particular case we were given information that did not match when the claim was processed. This was explained to the patient and we apologized for the incorrect estimate. We have since touched base with the insurance company and filed a complaint about the incorrect information given. -- New River Valley Endodontics
