customer was satisfied. 3 days later Mr. [redacted] contacted me to say color was wrong. I referred him to Sherwin Williams who tined the paint, they agreed the color was slightly off and gave him a full refund for his materials. The following week, Mr. [redacted] is now not happy with the painting so I sent a painter over for 3 more hours. Several days later I am receiving harassing calls and text messages to fix what isn’t broken. I went above and beyond, which I do with all my customers, to please Mr. [redacted]. There was nothing more that could have been done to make him happy—other than a free paint job. I did not knowingly put on a wrong color. The customer didn’t even know if was incorrect for 3 days after paint was applied. I would welcome an inspection of work by Revdex.com or the contractor’s board, as I stand behind the quality of my work. In 29 years of business, this is my first complaint, never a claim against my bond.  It seems after painting for Mr. [redacted] to help sell his home. He thinks I should do it for free. I have hundreds and hundreds of very satisfied customers that refer me and re-hire me constantly. My business is word of mouth and have no need to advertise because my customers love my workmanship.

I am rejecting this response because:  The fact remains that the room was painted the wrong color.  This was done even after Mr. Yeats, was given the "color swatch and codes" for the selected color.  Given his professional expertise and exceptional knowledge I trusted him to make the correct paint purchase.  It was true that Sherwin Williams, was unable to properly match the selected color.  However, Mr. Yeats is a licensed professional with as he readily admits "29 years of experience."  That's great, then he should have immediately stopped the project and notified me of the problem.  I'm not a professional painter, so I let the color dry for a couple of days.  My thinking was; perhaps, the color would darken as it dried.  Obviously, it did not and therein lies the dilemma.  Plus, I distinctly recall,  Mr. Yeats commenting that he "deliberately painted it the wrong color."  There were no harassing calls, only two professional inquiries regarding what could be done to fix the problem.  One call was not returned.  Mr. Yeats appears to prefer text messaging, and there were a couple sent to him regarding the problem.  There was not the slightest hint of any pressuring commentary.  Effective resolution was the only hoped for outcome.  Finally, I'm not looking for a "free-paint job," at all, only some reasonable outcome that would satisfy all parties - that has yet to be achieved.
