 initially when I went to the store they told me not worry about the layaway because I put 1,ooo.oo down and they never contacted me I had to contact them in reference to my layaway plan .I REPEAT they never contacted me. I was also told by the sales rep. a week ago that someone would call to reach out to me so we can work something out in which they never did that's why I did my research and found the Revdex.com.

Hello , from YES STAR FURNITURE .I reviewed the complaint resubmitted by [redacted] .And I my self spoke to her when she called 10 months after her layaway had expired and I explained the dates that we tried contacting her and she told me that all the times we called her she was working and she could never answer the phone .I asked her if she got the messages we left her and she answered she didn't think so.But that being said unfortunately as I stated in our initial response the layaway is expired ,And our store policies are very clear and she even signed our store policies agreeing to them . Im so sorry for this situation with this customer but we really cant do anything.

was $2534.00 .She left a $1000.00 dollar deposit on layaway to be paid before 6 months which is the deadline for all layaway's
in the store and is described in our store policies (policy #18 Layaway valid for 6 months only).We tried reaching her several times @ her phone # on file ###-###-####.we left several messages explaining to her that the layaway was expiring but she never returned our phone call ,at this point it has been a year and four months so this layaway is extremely expired sorry but there's nothing that we can do..Any other info including a copy of the invoice that she singed on our store policies feel free to contact me at ###-###-####.

Bought a hutch, sideboard, table and chairs for thanksgiving from Star. We had to wait months for the table and chairs to be shipped from their manufacturer apparently located in Vietnam. Then Star delivered the hutch from their Houston warehouse where the furniture must have molded from the flood or damp conditions. The sideboard also smelled musty and appeared used or old. The table and chair furniture from Vietnam had no mold but was still scuffed a bit.

We asked star to replace the sideboard and hutch furniture because of the mold and before thanksgiving. Well they did replace both before thanksgiving. The sideboard was fine. But the nightmare was the hutch was still just as moldy as the previous hutch and the delivery guys indicated again it came from the Houston warehouse. Called the manager and custommer support to cancel everything and they had already ordered a new hutch to be delivered when I called the store manager. Then asked the manager why are they sending furniture flooded from Houston and why a second hutch was delivered with the same mold. He said, he has never seen this before and it must just be this shipment to the warehouse, thus passing the buck. No, I’m sorry, there was a flood in Houston and located in a dark damp warehouse. Regardless, Star is sending moldy furniture from flood infested Houston warehouse without checking the furniture.

Now waiting for a third delivery and hopefully a hutch that is not moldy. We are allergic to mold and it seems to be impacting the air quality. We had to embarrass ourselves and Star’s reputation having the moldy furniture through thanksgiving because star claimed they did not have the necessary staff to deliver the new furniture even though they had the new furniture available. So the furniture could not be replaced before thanksgiving. Seriously?

Then I asked if payment will begin after receiving the new hutch and if they will push the starting of payments equivalent to the time we waited for the furniture and complete set to be delivered. There was only silence from the sales person, no response. Really?

Investigate whether your furniture is being delivered from Houston with mold. If you find there is mold, call the news and have it investigated. This experience was not only disappointing but we will likely never buy furniture from Star furniture in the future. Everyone experiences different situations, but we are a Houston mold victim and recommend if you find you are also, have it investigated by the news investigation team. This is unacceptable. I could have ordered this from Amazon and likely received it before thanksgiving for less and with no mold. And this is a very popular high cost set. This is simply unacceptable. Star has done nothing as far as reducing the price or trying to compensate for this mismanagement and poor quality furniture.

Star replaced the hutch but took the moldy headboard from the previous hutch and placed it on the new hutch. They are piecing this together one piece at a time. Star manager has not resolved the problem. The store manager is John Chronister and the salesman at the Pflugerville location is Armando. We are asking for $500 off the furniture for this situation and we have asked for the store manager to take the headboard because of the allergies and it’s making my wife sick.

The store manager said the hutch and headboard is one piece and two boxes. He really had no idea what was ordered or if it was one or two pieces apparently. Sent pictures to Armando explaining specifically what piece needs to be replaced and what they failed to get right once again. We expected new furniture and received furniture from the Houston flood and the store manager is making excuses for it. Simply not what we expected from a store with the reputation of Star furniture.

I’m giving star a one star because at least they are trying to resolve the problem even though very incompetently. Bought the furniture first week of October and it is still an incomplete set.

Review: Hello my name is [redacted] and on February **,2013 I went into yes star furniture due to advertisement via brochure and put 1,000.00 down payment on furniture and was told by the sales agent [redacted] that there was no deadline on layaway plans and that I could mix and match or change what I wanted only for me to call and check status of my order to make changes to be told by an sales agent that my order receipt has expired and I will not be receiving my furniture or my money back.
