The complaint is of a vehicle that was sold over a year ago.I would like to respond to the first comment about the check engine light coming on. This was mentioned in the ad that the customer responded to. Along with the check engine light coming on, I had mentioned to the customer and in the ad that it had some issues that would need addressed. I also had the customer sign an as-is bill of sale. On the as-is bill of sale, I also wrote that I had made the customer aware of the issues. The customer signed off on it twice. During our first conversations, I had also made sure they had a mechanic that would be able to fix said issues or they would be able to themselves. They assured me they did and it would not be in issue. I have retained copies of all this information. After they had taken ownership of the car, they had called and asked again for the list of parts needed. I had provided that information to them. They took it to a mechanic and if my memory serves correctly the mechanic wanted around $500 for his labor cost. My assumption is that the customer did not want to pay that and for the parts. Therefore they called me and was upset. Although they had assured me before purchasing that it would not be a concern getting the issues which I had let them know about fixed, it was still blamed on me. After they had spoken to me multiple times, I agreed that if they would just buy the parts we would just fix it. We tried to appease the situation and help them out. I asked if they could drop it off at the lot with the parts and it would be taken care of. However, this was not acceptable to them. They then continued to call, harass me and make threats. After that, I blocked their number. A couple weeks go by and they have someone else call from a different number. They state that they realize they were in the wrong and would like to buy the parts and us to fix it. At this point, we were no longer interested in going out of our way to help after the threats. Especially since they were aware of the issues that were stated in the ad which I kept a copy of, the messages of our conversations, and the signed as is bill of sale with the signed statement saying they were aware of issues which I have copies of.
