Review: I took this course because I was advised by the instructor all I needed was the 8hr course to get a BSIS Guard Card because of my background in corrections and law enforcement....But Miss [redacted] did say even though placement wasn't offered with 8hr course only the 24 and 32hr she would help me....On 10/28/13 I left a message informing her I had not yet received my guard card and if she had made inquiries on my behalf and she said had not but for a an additional fee she would give me interview advice etc..Basically this school and the instructor did not keep their word to assist in finding work

Mr. [redacted] was never advised as to which course he should enroll for, out of the 3 training programs we offer. He chose to enroll in the 8-hour training program, which does certify individuals to obtain Security guard card from BSIS after completing the training, (as per an attached copy of his certificate) and many individuals have obtained a position as a security officer with this 8-hour training and a BSIS issued guard card the same day the license clears.

We also offer a 20-hour and a 40-hour comprehensive training program, and by virtue of their length, we are able to offer free resume workshops and interviewing techniques to help students with their job search, once they have completed their training, but the service is free, and at no charge.

Mr. [redacted] never paid for placement services and therefore cannot demand a portion of his money to be reimbursed to him. We cannot reimburse him for something we never charged him, nor did he pay for. YIY only charges for the training course and nothing else, not even registration fees, nor the manual, the binder, the sheet protectors for the certificates, or the legal envelope in which students mail their application to BSIS.

Despite the fact we are not required by BSIS to provide placement services or help with resumes and workshops, I created a beautiful resume for Mr. [redacted] out of the goodness of my heart, which he was very happy with. He tried to manipulate me by asking me to provide him with free placement services. I didn't have to agree to it, but even then, I told him I would try to help him by sending him job leads via e-mail, once his license clears and he is issued a license by BSIS. As of today, November 4, 2013, his license has NOT cleared through the BSIS website, and therefore Mr. [redacted]'s allegations are false and without merit, especially when he makes such outrageous claims as, "I want a refund because the school and the instructor did not keep their word to assist in finding work." It is against the law to interview or hire ANYONE without a valid California guard card. Had Mr. [redacted] tried to go on job interviews on his own, and without waiting for me, he would have found out that no Security Company can break the law and interview and hire someone who does not YET possess a valid California Guard Card.

Mr. [redacted]'s complaints are unfounded, untruthful, and unreasonable, and he is not entitled to any refund considering that he only paid for the course and he got the training he signed up for as well as the certification, and our services and obligations to him have been completely delivered and met.

During his evaluation, of the program and the instructor, Mr. [redacted] gave YIY and the program instructor 5 out of possible 5 points in the rating system. He even wrote, "Information clear and understandable." We have met our obligation to Mr. [redacted] and wish him luck in all his endeavors.
