Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/09/22) */
Dear Complaint Resolution Centre:
As per our telephone conversation regarding correspondence received via [redacted] today outlining a complaint against our business by Mr. [redacted], please be advised that it is our utmost and...

sole intent to retain our stellar business/customer service reputation, therefore, will immediately upon receipt of the credit card number provide a full refund to the complainant.
As you stated in your letter, there are two sides to every dispute, so I would like to briefly provide our side. Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] checked into the Royal Inn & Suites on the night of [redacted]th, [redacted], a night in which we were sold out and had turned away numerous guests seeking accommodations. A pre-authorization was done on the credit card presented by the guests. A short while after check-in, apparently the [redacted]'s contacted the Front Desk Agent and informed her that there was an unusual odour in the room, described as some form of arthritic medication or ointment. They were told that unfortunately, we were sold out and there were no other rooms available. I did receive a phone call from the agent, and did say that unfortunately, they would be charged since they used the room. I tried calling the guests in the room from home, but there was no answer. I called back to the Front Desk and was told that the [redacted]'s had chose to leave. It was then that I asked the Front Desk agent to visit the room to see if it had been used, if there was the odour in there. She called back shortly after and said that she could not smell anything,
and that it did appear that the bed clothes had been pulled down. I thanked her and said that I would deal with it in the morning, and make my decision whether or not to close off the credit card once housekeeping advised if the room had indeed been used, which she did advise that the bed had to be changed, and that the room was done as a checkout.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2015/09/23) */
