In regards to *** ***'s rejection response, *** *** has told lies and made insulting comments and completely disregarded what the Revdex.com instructed him to do from a customers perspectiveHe provided no hard evidence, no copies of the contract that stated I owed him grills or screensI *** ***, the owner of KnA Remodeling am angry and disgusted that a person can write whatever they want and I have to take the time out of my busy work/family day to answer to this foolishnessI spoke to the surrounding neighbors and the information that *** posted is and has nothing to do with the problems between him and myselfI did a beautiful job on his home, I completed the job, and at the end when I tried to bill *** *** for extras (which states in my contracts-Any jobs performed by my company not listed above shall be billed as an extra) these tasks were necessary to complete the job by replacing rotted wood underneath the siding*** *** still owes me $2,as it stands right now but all aspects of the job that I agreed to do are COMPLETE.Thank You,Sincerely,*** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: *** *** has been untruthful and deceptive since the very beginning of our dealings. He provided me with estimates in the beginning. One was for regular siding and windows, one was for cedar impressions and windows and one was for a mixture of cedar impressions (front and back of the house) and regular siding on the sides. We went with the last one. The window requirements remained the same throughout the process -- nothing changed except for Mr***'s representations of the contract. At the beginning of the contract, I gave the contractor a $12,deposit to procure all of the materials for the job. This was on August 7th. The job was to be done in 2-weeks depending upon delivery of the material. The materials should take about a week and the work should take about 6-days, I was told. Two months later the work was never finished. The contractor delayed everything and finished nothing. The ceiling that was to be done in the sunroom was never finished and the drywall around the windows was horrendous. Every time we visited the home, we had to clean the unbelievable amount of dust left by the last work done. *** never covered anything in the house when sanding, he dropped construction debris in the garbage disposal and destroyed it. The windows installed were a smaller size than in the contract, they were to be primed inside and were not. *** apparently used my deposit to fund other jobs and never provided all of the material to our house. He asked for extras on multiple occasions and we agreed in writing (in texts) to those that were approved. On September 25th, he delivered of the screens for the windows and the balance have to date not been delivered - nor have the grilles that were be installed. On that same day, he left me a note in his handwriting saying that the balance of the screens were special order along with the grilles and would be arriving in weeks. Why would he say this if they were not part of the agreement. This man is apparently a serial liar. The references from the neighbor was that "he shows up". Apparently there are several in the area that do not. I would not say this is a glowing recommendation. The other neighbors are an elderly couple that he has probably been taking advantage of for quite some time. Another neighbor down the street had him quote painting downstairs of her home and he quoted $7,for a job she later had done by someone reputable for $1,500. She saved the estimate because she could not believe what he tried to do to her. I am guessing that others on the street would have some of the same experiences if questioned. *** tells people that he is losing money on the job and tells them he can't complete the work unless they give him more money -- hardly the mark of an honest man. He also threatens not to be able to finish because of his losses and requires that checks be made to him personally instead of his business so that he can evade taxes to save some money. I did tell him from the beginning that we had enough cash to do the siding and windows and no more. We were also under contract to do a new bulkhead because of its age and conditiion. *** preys on people, claims he is losing money and hopes people feel sorry for him. In the meantime he doesn't finish the work without giving into him. I held money on him to the end awaiting the arrival of the screens and grilles and tried to trust that he would drop them off at our neighbor as he said he would. I did believe it could require legal action at some point to recover what he owes. Unfortunately my suspicions have been borne out. He never presented me with a $2,plus bill because I told him we didn't owe any more on the contract. He told us that even his wife had told him that morning that he could not charge us an extra $2,900. I asked him if he had something that would justify that and he said no -- he should just have charged more. When I finally paid him more than I owed him on October 10th, it was to get our key back and to get him off our property. We couldn't stand dealing with him, his lying and the mess he made of our house. As I said before, we have in writing from him that he still owes screens and grilles and if we need to sue him, we will. We have also filed a complaint with the Division of Consumer Affairs. We are trying to settle this without the additional hassle of court and fees which will be added to the claim. *** appears not to want to settle without legal action.
Regards,
Ronald Vance

My name is [redacted], owner of KnA Remodeling. When I first met Ronald Vance he contacted me and stated "that he would like an estimate on getting his home resided with cedar impressions and 10 new Anderson windows". In response I gave [redacted] 4 different estimates of what could have...

been performed on his home and what the cost would be for each job. Each estimate was less expensive than the first because [redacted] stated "that he was having other work done to his bullhead and that he could not afford the work that he originally wanted with my company. I created several different scenarios involving cedar impressions(siding) and 10 Anderson windows. Finally, when we came to an agreement and the contract was signed,  I received a deposit so that I could order the material needed for his job. When the material came in I immediately started the job on [redacted]'s summer home located on Bay View Ave in Bayville, N.J. It clearly states on my contract(which [redacted] has signed) that any work not listed on the contract signed would be an additional charge and the jobs performed were very specific and completed thoroughly. Throughout the course of the job, [redacted] trusted me with the key to his home and stated to me "that he could not be there while the work was being performed and that he lived at another location in north Jersey. During the job, extra and additional charges came about and I received verbal permission over the telephone to perform additional work to his roof and to purchase extra lumber which was necessary to complete the job correctly. Upon completion of the job, [redacted] did not cooperate with the signed contract by refusing to pay me $2,970.00 which my company billed to him as part of extra charges that were necessary to complete the job. [redacted] had the same expectations from the first estimate which was $8,000.00 more than the one he signed. Basically, when I gave him the first estimate which was $25,000.00, I verbally "offered" to throw in grills which is something I do for many customers that spend a lot of money with my company. [redacted] did not sign that contract with me, he signed a much lesser version of the work that was performed by using a cheaper product and completing the job in a different format which was $17,000.00. All jobs that [redacted] and myself final agreed on were completed and the home came out beautiful. At the very end when the work was completed, he decided what he wanted to pay and failed to pay the balance of $2,970.00. It was at that time, that I decided I was not going to give this man anything free or lose out on any more money that I had worked hard for when the grills were never included on the contract from the beginning. This mans home was in very poor condition. All the existing screens aside from the new ones that my company installed were dry rotted and torn. As for his garbage disposal, we did not use it nor break it. In conclusion, I feel that [redacted] is grasping at straws and making excuses not to pay me in full. I want to make a final statement; I came to [redacted] as a recommendation from both neighbors on each side of his home. I performed work on 10 houses on the very same street and all jobs were completed and customers were very happy!Sincerely,[redacted]
