Review: I've been seeing Dr. [redacted] for quite some time now. I never had any issues until my visit today. I was in an accident in the beginning of summer and it landed me in the hospital for 4 days with a Brain injury in ICU. I went in on 8/25/2014 because I had some really bad scaring on my nose that was part of my injury. Doctor [redacted] is very pleasant and I never have had issues with her, although her bedside manner isn't always great. On the other hand her office staff brought to my attention that not only did I owe them copay for that day but for two additional for missed appointments. On my discharge paper work it stated that I would need to make a follow up appointment to see her. I already had a follow-up with a neurologist and didn't feel there was a need to do a follow up with Dr. [redacted] since this was a brain injury. So because I didn't make a follow-up appointment I was charged 20.00 copay. I developed an uti after I was discharged from the hospital and my daughter called Dr. [redacted] to see if she could call in a prescription. Thank goodness she did, but here goes the but, since I didn't call to make a follow-up I was charged and additional $20.00 copay. There notes stated I had two no shows. So if you don't make an appointment it's considered a "no show"! I'm really trying to understand who in Dr. [redacted]'s office makes these rules. It's clearly a rip off to the insurance companies. Todays visit cost me $74.22 for two appointments that weren't even scheduled to begin with because there was no need to and for today's appointment that I did make. Were they got the additional fees of 14.22 is beyond me. I really hope Dr. [redacted] reads this and is aware of what is going on in her office staff. I was heavily medicated while in the hospital and when I was discharged and I did not make these fake appointments and neither did my children. I hope that Dr. [redacted]'s staff realizes they shouldn't be taking advantage of her patients but most importantly creating fake appointments and billing insurance companieDesired Settlement: Refund of additional cost for appointments that they scheduled on their own without my consent.

Revdex.com4747 Vlewrldge Ave, #200San Diego, CA 92123-1688Fax: 858-496-2141Case ID# [redacted]To Whom It May Concern:No. [redacted]I have read the complaint by [redacted] and am writing this letter to attempt to explain thesituation. First and foremost my office would never make Hfake" appointments or charge patients forthese appointments. Our records dearly state that the patient's daughter [redacted] called while she wasIn the hospital and made her post hospital follow up visit for 6/30/14. The patient signed an officepolicies paper on her first visit that clearly states we need 24 to cancel appointments or a $50.00 noshow Is charged to the patient. Patients are responsible for showing up to their appointment or callingto cancel. This Is a common courtesy that in order to take care of sick patients that call dally can be seen. When someone does not show for their appointment it is a wasted appointment that can be used forsomeone who Is sick and needs to be seen. The patient was treated over the phone for a UTI on6/16/15 as she had just gotten out of the hospital and this was done for free no charge so as not tomake the patient come Into the office when she was at home recuperating. The patient was charged hernormal $20.00 copay at the time of her appointment on 8/25/15. The charges she Incurred were asfollows:Co pay for visit 8/25/14 $20.opNo show for hospital follow up 6/30/14 $50.00Balance of patient responsibility for visits 10/7/2011 ~And 10/14/2011Total Collected: $74.22This was explained to her at the time of payment but she could have also calle~ the office and spoken toPat my office manager for further explanation instead of starting a case with the 888. It is clear that shedid not understand what the $74.22 was being paid and is assuming that It Is our fault or we didsomething wrong. This Is a waste of my time and yours. These allegations are false and If any furtheraction Is taken by this patient I will have no choice other than to consult my attorney for actions.Sincerely,Dr. [redacted]Jul. 28. 2015 2:18PM No. 0414 P. 2YOBBA KNQLL FAMILY M§DICA,L CENTER OFFICE PQLICIISrJkASSJGNMENT OF MIJ)lCAL BENUITS AND AUTHQRIUTJON TO TREATI hereby authoriU~ the doctors nf Yorba Knoll Family Medical Ceater to fbmlah to any insuranc:ecarrier all information concemlng the medical condition, diagnosis and treatment of patient.
