January 5, 2016Dear [redacted]:Enclosed herewith is a paper trail of e-mails we exchanged with both [redacted] and, originally, his friend. [redacted], outlining the scenario of both [redacted]'s interest and subsequent order for a lantern battery to be used in a "back up' system for a vintage...

alarm system. We informed [redacted] from the onset of this scenario that the lantern battery he wanted was no longer manufactured by either Eveready or any other battery manufacturer that we represent. He was willing to try the alternative battery recommended by our battery supplier, [redacted]. So we shipped that battery to him promptly. However, after receiving it, he changed his mind and took the position that we had shipped him the "wrong" battery-which is totally untrue.[redacted] decided to NOT try the battery we had shipped to him and we requested he return it directly to our source to keep shipping costs to a minimum. He insisted we refund both the cost of the battery PLUS shipping charges to and from him (which we told him we do NOT do-it is not our policy to refund shipping charges, nor is it the policy of our battery supplier, [redacted]. In fact, [redacted] called our supplier, [redacted] (unbeknownst to York Marketing-we found out after calling them asking if they had received the battery back from [redacted]) and insisted they refund shipping charges and he was told by the [redacted]. customer service person (Mark) that is NOT [redacted]'s policy. We are not going to refund shipping charges to [redacted]-we have already refunded the cost of the battery plus the PA 6% sales tax charged back to his [redacted] credit card that he used for this purchase. That is all that we will be refunding. Our policy about refunding shipping charges is fair and reasonable and is consistent with the policy of ALL of our sources-who are either manufacturers or wholesale distributors. If you have any other issues or concerns, please e-mail us at [redacted].net and we will respond promptly. Regards,Sharon A.Owner
