Yorktowne Dental

This dental facility is fine for its dental services but is awful with billingIn the past year and a half I have received calls stating that our insurance was rejected because we didn't have insuranceI explained both times they must have done something wrong to which they said they had notI spent time talking with the insurance company who assured me we did indeed have insuranceThe EOBs came several days later showing they billed an insurance that wasn't active for several yearsNote they had billed the correct insurance various times before they calledWe never got a call explaining or apologizingIt was just fixed and billed correctlyWe were sent a letter demanding payment of a balance of $We had paid toward the services previously so I called and requested a statement timesWho knew a statement was so hard to send because we never got oneI asked for another one when we were there last month....no issue, paid the $when I was able to confirm all payments were postedrequests to get a statementWe were told insurance would not cover treatments for my sonSo we paid the ~$the day the service was performedWhen I saw that insurance paid it, I called and requested a refundI was told it would take several weeksSeveral weeks passed and I called againStill processingWe visit several weeks later and I request the payment from another member of the office ....still nothingAfter several months, I finally got a hold of someone who processed the paymentNo interest was provided or apology for the delayWe are told the insurance we have is the issue with all of this and they will no longer be participating in that insuranceSo we switchedCosts me $more a month but then #happens which has nothing to do with insuranceLast week this dental office placed my son's account for collectionsYeah, the same account we got the refund onWe don't have a balance so what's up? Well,dental office says it shouldn't have been placedCollection agency says they got the notice to place it in early April of (debt is from 2012, years later) Collection agency says the only way to get it fixed is to dispute it which could take up to daysI got a statement today and we never owed anything on that accountMy ex-husband was the debtor so how was it on my report? How do you place something that isn't and never was owed? No one knows and the dental office isn't being very helpfulI called today and asked for a letter stating it isn't dueWe got to a dental appointment today and they refused to put anything on letterheadI also advised them that I would want to speak with someone because their little mix up with a credit report is now jeopardizing my ability to get a pre-approval for a mortgageSuddenly the dentist is nowhere to be found and doesn't even deliver the news that our son needs orthodontic careHe had another appointment to get to (the dentist always meets with parents to let them know progress after a cleaning, but not today) The dentist and/or office manager should have apologized and let us know personally what was being done to fix it Instead, they had one of their office staff address everythingWe are now switching dentists and orthodontists
