Since it was a major Holiday weekend, we are unable to issue a refund

Hello,As explained to Mr***, any sites booked on major holidays, ie Memorial Day, Independance Day, or Labor Day, which are day minimum weekends, there is a week cancellation policyIf the guest cancels at least two weeks from their arrival date, they will receive a refund less the $
cancellation feeMr*** cancelled on 8/29/16, just days prior to the date of his arrivalDue to the loss of revenue on his reservation, he forfeited his deposit(See attached documentation)Upon speaking with him, and learning of his dog's illness, as gesture of goodwill, we offered to change the date of his arrival to anytime within the next year so he would not lose his depositHe declined the offerThis is a policy common to all KOA Campgrounds and not an unusual policy in the hospitality system. I can cancel a reservation at a star hotel given hours notice and here a campground where I'm sleeping on the ground a week noticePlease, this is ridiculousBut again the main reason I cancelled waS my dog is very sickA year old golden retrieverI can verify this information with our vetenarianAgain, I will accept a full refund and nothing lessI hope you have viewed my complaint on YELP also.Regards,*** ***
