To whom it may concern The complainant came into the dealership with her fiancé the evening of August 22, The fiancé had a Ford Focus to trade inHe stated that he was leasing thru Ford Motor Credit and called earlier that day for a pay-off which he stated was $14,We attempted to
contact ford Motor Credit for confirmation but they were closed due to the late hourThey purchased a new Ford Focus with a monthly payment of $pending completed financingThe following day we contacted Ford Motor Credit for a day pay-off on their trade in vehicle and was told the outstanding amount was $14,Initially we had some issues with our lenders arranging financing and advised the customerWe were able to get financing approved thru another lender at better terms and lowered their payment to $We planned to have the customers re-sign with new lender September 1stThe fiancé was contacted by Ford Motor Credit and was advised he could not trade in the vehicleHe could either buy out the leased vehicle or turn it in and pay mileage/ time overages as lease expired in JulyWe contact Ford Motor Credit to verify and were told that the lease expired in July and trading in the vehicle was not an optionThe customer however could purchase the vehicle, pay taxes and then trade it in or turn in the vehicle and pay the overagesThe customers came in September 1st and was being very unreasonable, they didn’t want to hassle with it anymore and would not listen as we tried to explainWe explained that turning in the lease and paying the overages didn’t make sense and we could still complete the deal if he purchased the leased vehicle and the only difference would be the sales tax on the purchased priceOnce he owned the vehicle we could then take it in on tradeWe tried to explain we did everything we promised and more but didn’t have control over their previous lease termsWe agreed to take back the Ford Focus and did not charge for mileage the customer accrued on our vehicleThey became belligerent, started screaming and swearing and eventually left the propertyDillon S*** Sales Manager Young Ford of Brigham City
