Young Peoples Learning Center Reviews (8)

Young Peoples works hard to maintain standard policies for all families Our two-weeks notice for withdraw is both industry standard and a contract that is signed by parents upon enrollment We like to have conversations with parents and make plans for kids without it being a negotiation around money or policy We have very simple financial policies and we adhere to them consistently.Young Peoples Learning Center works very hard to get all kids what they need in our environment Our teachers were in communication with mom during drop off and pick up times and watched the situation carefully Pre-kindergarten classes often have issue with cliques and children who are learning their social boundaries for deciding who, what and when they will play with each other We work hard to teach kids kindness, compassion and assertiveness skills to all children, but it usually takes some practice for them The teachers in this classroom have years of combined experience in classrooms as well as current training specifically around these social-emotional skills and building kids character in this way We want all children to come to school excited, but there are a lot of factors at play for every child and this child played and interacted well in the classroom He would play in isolation at times, but would also engage both with peers and adults and was generally happy during his time at school Drop off, particularly that morning, was difficult for him, but he quickly got into class routines - including play Many pictures were shared with parents to let them know their child's days were going well When more concern was expressed, we put additional eyes in the classroom and came to the same conclusion

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Youngs admitted that clicks have formed and that those clicks exclude and take toys from other kidsTo make matters worse, the teachers informed my wife that they were trying to get my son to "stand up for himself." What type of environment does there need to be where you have to teach kids to fight backI will tell you, it is an environment that treats its preschool like a cattle call, where greed wins Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:The fact remains, Young's fostered a hostile environment and I am being penalized for removing my childYoung's was given ample time to address issue and they did notI was forced, for the sake of my son, to remove him from Youngs when he physically did not want to attend any longer

I cannot change what children express when they are at home, but two head teachers, two assistant teachers and a director all spent time specifically looking into the situation and did not feel like there was a hostile environment or that the situation with this child was outside of typical social emotional developmental goals Additionally, all parties observed the child enjoying time as school for the majority of everyday

September 3, 2015This letter is in response to the complaint filed with ID #***.The complaint states that a parent registered for more days of camp than she ended up needing and was wanting to un-register for daysUnfortunately, this is against our policies as it would not allow us
to schedule for our field trips or staff appropriately and would also prevent other campers for registering for days as there is a limit of campers per dayThis policy has been in place since the camp was started years agoThis policy is stated several times during the registration process and is also emailed to parents as part of the financial policies, where it is highlighted in The policy reads as follows: “Our enrollment is totally openThat means you may sign up for any days or weeks you want and will only pay for those daysHowever, you are responsible to pay for all days scheduled, even if your child is sick or there are other unexpected days offWe will attempt to trade days when given a hour notice if space is available.”When the customer was shown this policy and asked if we could make it any clearer, she stated to us “It’s my own fault I respect your policies....I guess I’m looking for a little budge on the policies because I’m and it.” She was, unfortunately, unable to take advantage of “trading” days as she had registered for every day of the summer. We try to be flexible for families, but need to have certain policies in place in order to keep our programs as great as they areWe try to make our policies clear and consistentWe always welcome feedback on how to write them better or make them more available to parents. However, we cannot always say yes to requests. In addition, this customer was able to use a loophole on our online registration system to cancel several of the days, which she was informed was against policy, but chose to follow through with. We did not pursue these funds since it was a failure in our registration system. We have had several email conversations about the necessity of these policies with this customer and continue to welcome any dialogue about how to make them clearer, though we will not be -Heather G***Executive DirectorYoung Peoples Learning Center

I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, even though I only received resolution through a glitch in their computer system.
