Review: Run, don't walk from "Your Auto Exchange"

[redacted] at "Your Auto Exchange" Marconi Ave. will tell you anything to sell the car ! Even before I bought the car, the backup lights didn't work, they supposedly checked them out and said that they had to order a relay to fix it, that was a month ago still haven't heard a thing from them.

Besides from that the night I bought it I also found out that the rear window defroster doesn't work, and then 2 days later the "Check Engine" light is on now !! Besides the fact that the car isn't even registered in my name yet, which they said they were going to do.

I really wish that I had checked this outfit with the Revdex.com before putting down $3,000 dollars on the car! If it were up to me, I'd run this outfit out of town!!Desired Settlement: Register the damned car, and honor the bogus 3 month, 3,000 mile warranty. What good is a warranty if they don't honor it? And fix the electrical problems!!

Business

Response:

Initial Business Response

Mr. [redacted] purchased the vehicle 8/19 and by law we have 90 days to register the vehicle. We contacted Mr. [redacted] on 9/17 to advise that his registration was complete and his tags are available to pick up. He picked them up the next day. We were well within the law on this subject. As far as the vehicle is concerned, we conducted our safety inspection on the vehicle and had no knowledge of these issues prior to the vehicle being sold. Customer brought the vehicle in stating the rear defroster does not work, we checked and showed him how to use it. This customer has an appointment scheduled to check the rear reverse light and had made an appointment prior to us getting this complaint. Customer also had the right to bring a mechanic to check the vehicle prior to purchasing and he declined. This is a 10 year old vehicle.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

"We conducted our safety inspection on the vehicle and had no knowledge of these issues prior to the vehicle being sold." Not true, because when they backed out the car so I could test drive it, I told them that the backup lights didn't work, and I left it there for them to fix it. I called them later in the day and they told me to pickup the car. When I got there they told me that it was a relay and had to "order the part". That was 8/19/13. Never called. Next morning the rear window defroster didn't work. "Customer brought the vehicle in stating the rear defroster does not work, we checked and showed him how to use it". Also not true, this is to laugh, they are claiming that I don't know how to press the rear window defroster button ? This is a 2003 Dodge Neon the exact same button that was in my previous 2001 Plymouth Neon (12 year old vehicle) that actually worked, as did the backup lights, and the "Check engine" light didn't come at all !

Also I noticed they have not mentioned the "check engine" light that came on about 3 times, and they hooked up the code scanner and reset the codes, and like clockwork 2 days later it would come on again.

They're just resetting the light and not fixing why the light comes on in the first place

My last trip there they had a "diagnostic guy" look and at car, and said they had to "order a part"! They keep "ordering parts", but never fixing anything. I see this ending up in small claims court.

Review: Two to three days after my purchase of my vehicle, the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and left it there for 5 hours, and they supposedly "fixed it". I drove it 2-3 days after they "fixed" it and then the check engine light re-appeared. I've been trying to contact them since then and they always tell me the owner isn't there an that they are busy so they tell me to leave a message and they'll have the owner call me back... I've already left 8 messages, I haven't gotten ANY calls from him. It's already been over a month since my purchase of the vehicle. I still have not received my plates, registration, pink slip or anything. So, I called the DMV yesterday and they told me that the dealers barely started my paperwork a few days ago and still have not finished them. DMV is waiting on the completed papers from the dealership in order for me to receive my plates and everything. After speaking with the DMV, I called the dealership and the man I spoke with said the DMV is lying to me and that he turned in the paperwork a long time ago. These men at this dealership continue to lie to me and show no effort in helping me resolve this so that is why I'm filing this complaint to hopefully get this issue resolved.Desired Settlement: For them to give me back at least $5,000 of my money. They can keep the $420.61 for me driving the car for a month.

Review: My Uncle purchased a car for the family from there car lot also with a 90 day warranty. We started having problems with the car the 2nd day we had it. They would make promises to fix car in a timely matter and wouldn't, the car would just be sitting there for days they have no licensed mechanic. in fact they ask us to find one licensed or not! They are having us pay for repairs an won't honor the warranty they give us excuses to why it takes almost a week to fix something then when the car is returned they haven't fixed anything.Desired Settlement: I would like them to either fix my car properly or put us in another car.

Review: I purchased a car which was faulty and and serious problems. [redacted] refused to fix the car and ignored my calls throughout the warranty. He called the police on me when I came to the office to complain an switch my car. He held my plates for 3 months. I was stuck with that car for a year and it fell apart. He claimed to have signed me up with full coverage and lied. The car fell dead in the middle of the street and had to be pushed in a very bad area over night. I got a call saying it was vandalized and burn !! [redacted] put me in a bad bad situation. I payed and payed and now the car is on my credit. [redacted] owes me money and needs to remove that off my credit. The sight hasn't been updated sense 2013 and no one answers my that phone. Seems as if the business is shut down. I need my money I pat s into that car and that removed off my credit. He's a shady lot and lies and takes people's money!!Desired Settlement: I would like the car taking off of my credit report and the money I paid into the car.
