Your Choice Contracting

Review: We hired Your Choice Contracting after meeting the owner twice, receiving an estimate. Everything seemed legitimate, and we were really excited to get the repairs done to some damaged ceilings in our upstairs after our roof leaked. We were told that the job would take 5 days, were given a Friday end date. After the crew left the first day, I went upstairs only to find that the carpet in the master bedroom had been damaged, black stains everywhere. The walls and baseboards were filthy. A few days later someone was sent to do the plaster work, he ran into some issues, leaving a big hole in our hallway ceiling. He said he would contact the owner, and he would know what to do to finish that portion of the ceiling. We never heard a word from the owner, my husband would call and text only to never get a response. By Wednesday into the second week, we were told by the owner he would be over that evening around 6, he never showed up. We got a call after 9 pm that night that he would come the next morning. Saying he had a job at 7 am and would be over after that. We adjusted our work schedules to be home, but again he never showed up that day. We called and texted him numerous times, but never got a single response. He finally texted us late that evening saying that he would be over at 10 am the next day. Hours passed with a no show, finally one guy showed up. When asking him about the hallway ceiling and the chandelier we were told would be hung, the guy had no idea what we were talking about. Had to turn away the carpet cleaner that was sent to fix the damaged rugs twice because the owner was telling him incorrect times to show up and then he came over when the job was still not complete. While the ceiling and molding in the master bedroom are being completed, we still have no idea when the damaged carpets will be cleaned, no one to move our furniture back into the room, and an incomplete hallway with a hole in the ceiling. The worst part of all is that the owner asked for all of the money for the job upfront. This person came recommended to us by our real estate agent so we thought nothing of it. This was absolutely our fault for trusting this person because he now has all of our money, and we just have an incomplete job with damaged carpets. I feel the need to report him so the does not continue to do this to good, hard working people in the area.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund to get some of our money back since the job was not completed, but I realize that might not be possible. I just don't want this person to continue with their business of treating hard working people this way. I would like to see that other people in this area don't have to deal with this company.

Review: Hired this Company to put a deck on my pool. Gave [redacted] $800.00 and in 21 days only dug 4 holes. Very unreliable. Lied to my face about when he was going to come and then did not show. Would not return my calls. Did damage to my grass in my yard and my porch deck needs to be powered washed due to the mess he made. Very poor customer service.Desired Settlement: Just hope that no one else hires this person because they will get burnt...
