me to indicate that they would schedule a delivery Since they had a history of making promises over the last few months, I did not believe them and told them I wasn't interested Since the credit card company charged the merchant back and gave me a credit, I consider the matter closed

company sent a part to my home and the repair man is supposed to come to my home to repair only part of the couch The rest of the furniture is still broken That part of my complaint has been ignored by the home furniture store I am still lodging my complaint

Review: We purchased two leather/vinyl rocker recliners and a loveseat. The reclining mechanism on one of the leather chairs does not operate properly and the seat cushion has sagged and fallen lopsided. I cannot contact the company as I believe it is out of business and the phone has been disconnected. We purchased the items on 9/**/13, however the furniture was not delivered until March 2014. The furniture is less than one year old.Desired Settlement: Replacement

Review: I purchased two couches, a loveseat and sofa, on 4/**/14. At time of purchase, I was told to allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. I began calling the beginning of June to followup on order. I was told the warehouse where the couches are made closes in the middle of the summer and they would be delivered by middle of July (~12 weeks after purchase date) (I was never informed at time of purchase that the warehouse closed and it would effect our order). At that time, I was told the delivery fee of the couches would be refunded at time of delivery ($100.00). I began calling again in the middle of July following no update from the store on status of our order. I was told the couches should be available middle of August. After multiple phone calls (many of which are rarely returned) I spoke to the [redacted] who was unapologetic and after demanding some type of refund on the couches since it will be 16 weeks since time of purchase, he agreed to compensation with no clear details as to how much or how the money would be returned (he finally called back and left a voicemail which is saved). The middle of August approaches, we reached out to store for an update, left multiple messages, and we cannot get in contact with anyone. Still no update on status of the couches as of today.Desired Settlement: We would like an update on our order and want the delivery of our couches with the promised refund for delivery and compensation for the couches. This has taken double the amount of time for delivery than promised at time of purchase (the order form states to allow 8 weeks for delivery).

Review: I put a down payment on a couch on 2/**/14. The couch was supposed to be shipped to me within 12 weeks. It is now 15 weeks later and the couch hasn't arrived. I have been calling them for the last two weeks, requesting to speak to a manager, but they have been giving me the run around. They have stopped taking calls on there main phone number and there website is not working. I went there today to speak to the manager but they said he was busy with a customer. They refused to cancel my order and credit my credit card for the down payment. I filed a Police report and opened a case with my credit card company.Desired Settlement: I want a refund to my credit card

Review: We bought a sectional from The Place in November 2013. We contacted the store and told them that we were having problems with the sectional. They are:1) reclining console loveseat is hard to open 2) reclining armless chair doesn't open at all 3) reclining armless chair missing connector to connect to wedge 4) fabric pulled on non reclining loveseat 5 ) throw pillow ripped 6) nails sticking out of reclining console loveseat. A service repairman came to my home at the beginning of June. He said 1 ) spring missing from reclining console loveseat. He would order part. 2) bolts missing from reclining armless chair. He would order bolts and connector. 4) He would order new casing for loveseat. 5) He would order new pillow.

I called repeatedly and was told that the parts were in but not the casing. When everything was in, they would send the repairman back Going out of Business Signs were put up on the store. I was told that we had bought from Your Home Furnishing and only The Place was going out of business. I had nothing to worry about and they were working on getting my couch fixed. My husband called at the end of August and we were told that they had the fabric for the seat and parts. The repairman came to my house. He had the wrong fabric and no other parts. He said that it the only way to fix nail was to take console apart and he would do that when he came back. I went into the store and was told that they didn't know where the parts were and new casing was to be ordered. The casing was to be sent to me and they were having the parts overnighted to the store. The service repairman was supposed to come to my house on Tuesday, Sept [redacted]. I called Tuesday and was told they never got parts and the store was closed. I was given the name of a customer service rep from the manufacturer, [redacted].

I contact the [redacted] rep and was told that he had never received any information from The Place and I would have to deal with him from start.Desired Settlement: I would like the sectional to be fixed OR all of my money returned and they can remove the sectional.

Review: Our furniture was supposed to be delivered within 4-6 weeks. So far it is the 9th week and they are telling us we will not receive the furniture for another one and a half weeks (if it really gets delivered, which it probably will not). They did take away the delivery charge, but at this point that is no brainer. What made me go down there to complain the first time was that I received the bill for furniture I did not posssess. They said they had no idea how my bill was processed and took it back. It is obvious that this store was not ready to be amongst the successful furniture stores. Do yourself a favor and go to [redacted] and enjoy the three day delivery....I dont know why I left them.Desired Settlement: DELIVER MY FURNITURE!!!!!!!!!!!!! May as well throw a gift certificate in the truck for my troubles (for dinner, not your store....I'm never going back there)

Review: I purchased a couch from "The Place Furniture Galleries" also known as "Your Home Furniture of Long Island" on August **, 2012. After delivery we noticed the frame of the couch was broken. We presented the problem to "The Place" and they sent a repairman. Disappointed that our brand new couch needed to be repaired, we were willing to try to make it work. After tearing our couch apart and basically rebuilding it, the frame broke again. We called The Place, and [redacted] told us that we should try to repair it once again and if it didn't work, they would issue us a refund. On March **, 2014, we were issued a credit in the amount of $2503.81 the cost of the couch that we had purchased. On July **, 2014 we went to the store and exchanged the couch for a different one. At the end of July we were called (voicemail recorded) to schedule our delivery. As we were on vacation, they called us again on Monday August [redacted] and scheduled delivery for Tuesday August [redacted] between the hours of 3 and 7pm. At 6:45pm after arranging for childcare and cancelling a doctor's appointment, I called the number of the person that contacted me for delivery. He stated that someone cancelled the order. I called The Place and spoke to [redacted] who stated that [redacted] was the person who I needed to speak to. He left 3 messages and emailed [redacted] and we still haven't heard from him. After a number of phonecalls, [redacted] is still not returning our calls and will not get on the phone with us. We are left with a broken couch and "The Place" has our newly ordered couch in their possession. As they stated that they were getting the credit from the manufacturer, that means "The Place" is being credited our $2503.81 and they are keeping our new couch. This is theft!Desired Settlement: The company is said to be going out of business. Please see [redacted] and internet complaints about these companies and specifically [redacted] and [redacted]. I would like a refund in the amount of $2503.81.

Review: On January **, 2014 a complete King bed and matress set was ordered. The sales receipt stated there would be an eight to ten week delivery time and going into week eleven my ordered wasn't recieved. I then spoke to someone at the business named [redacted] who stated that he would call me to notify me as to why my order wasn't recieved the Monday following the Saturday I went into the place of business. I was also approached by [redacted] whom informed me that he would take care of everything as well as get back to me. As of April *, 2014 my order has yet been received.Desired Settlement: Billing adjustment.

Review: We purchased and paid for a kitchen dining set along with chairs, sitting bench and table pads. The purchase invoice indicated a delivery date of approximately 8-10 weeks, which would have put the delivery into early to mid April. As of 6/**, the furniture has not been delivered. Every time we call customer service, they either don't call us back with information, or when they do, it's just another excuse for the non-delay. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company.Desired Settlement: I either want the furniture delivered IMMEDIATELY or a full refund of the $1,655.45 paid. I do not want to wait any longer.

Review: On February **, 2014 I ordered a leg for my living room table. I was told I would be called when the leg came in. Several weeks passed and since I did not hear from them I called and they told me still on back order. I kept calling and they gave me the same answer. In May 2014 I was very tired and upset that I was waiting so long for the leg for my table that I asked them to refund me the money. They assured me that it was on back order and as soon as it came in they would call me. Finally I got tired of waiting and I called to cancel the order and get a refund but when I called the store, the message said that the mailbox was full. I tried several times to call but got the same message. Finally I went to the store and someone told me that their credit card machines were down and I could not get a refund at that time. I had no choice but to leave without getting my refund. I have tried calling but no one answers and continues to say mailbox is full. I have not received my refund for $43.45.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my refund for $43.45 that I was charged but never received the product.

Review: ordered custom sectional 1/*/2014 with 6-12 delivery.they called me 3/**/2014 said furniture would ship 10-12 days. NOT . I call them 4/**/2014 and I am now told the factory ran out of the fabric we picked and wouldn't have it until 5/*/2014 that's another 12 weeks, so the shipping information we were given back in March was untrue. I told them that if they didn't have the fabric I wanted the order cancelled. The customer service person '[redacted]' said he would speak to the [redacted] and call me back tomorrow ,never did! I have begun action through my credit card company for refund of my deposit.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: I purchased a couch from formerly known as The Place in 2011, and along with the couch, I also purchased the 5 year warranty. In January 2014, a tear was made in the couch by an unknown source. Additionally the foam is coming out of the couch, and there are tears throughout the entire couch in between the cushions. This is the 2nd couch we have had an issue with from this store. This is a replacement couch, please keep this in mind. I originally called the warranty company, and they told me that I waited to long to report the tear and damage. I told them that I was not sure when it happened, and I wanted to be honest. In turn, I was told that my coverage would not apply to this incident. So, I called the Place for help. I spoke to [redacted], the [redacted]. She was very nice at the time and stated that she would have one of the stores repair companies come out and look at the damage on behalf of the store. I was so happy. That was January **, 2014. The man came out on Feb *, 2014. He took pictures and stated that these couches always tear in this spot, and he even showed me and my husband some pictures of other couches that he inspected. He left. We heard nothing until I called the store and asked to speak to [redacted] the [redacted]. First, I was told she was out to lunch, then she was not in, then I can take a message and have her call you. That lasted a whole month. My husband called a week later, and said he needs to know what is going on here. The [redacted] placed him on hold, then stated that [redacted] had a part ordered for the couch, and that it will be delivered to our home. We were not notified of this, but we figured ok, this is great news. Another month passed, we call to check on the status of "delivery", and were told that the company that has the part will call us back. No company ever called us back. This whole thing was a scam. There was never a part ordered, and if there was, we did not get it. I then wrote to the [redacted] of the company, [redacted]. He told me that the only reason that someone was sent to my house for an inspection of the couch, was because I was screaming at the [redacted]. Which is also another lie. The [redacted] did nothing to resolve this issue. [redacted] did nothing to resolve this issue. You cannot just send someone out to take pictures, order parts (supposedly) and then tell me that the warranty company will call me to go over coverage? They did not call me either.Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund for the damaged and unrepaired couch, and refund for the useless warranty.

Review: I ordered furniture from them the first week of Dec 2013 - it is now the end of Feb 2014 and have not yet received it. I also paid for the furniture ALREADY and yet do not have what I paid for. When I called to schedule the delivery, the person in charge said I was set to have it delivered today 2/** and that I'd get a call the night before with a specific time frame. I did NOT get a call.

So I called the store and now they're telling me its not coming today.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund or delivery of the furniture TODAY.
