They threatened me with collections first contact
I ordered a breast pump from them and they claimed to verify everything with insurance before sending it off. I checked my claim multiple times and it said it was approved and my total due was 0.00 - in fact I just logged in and it STILL says that.My insurance denied the claim. I was unable to return it and they never attempted to contact me. I got my first letter as a 10-day notice to send me to collections. They never attempted to collect the debt in the first place and this is the first time they contact me. They also should not send anything out if it is not properly verified as they claim because I was under the impression my insurance covered it as that is what they led me to believe. Horrible. Its now 7 months later.

Dear [redacted] and [redacted]:I am the COO of Yummy
Mummy to whom the matter of your claim has been directed.  I have
researched this situation and will respond accordingly to the RevDex.com. Your return based upon notification that your insurer
had issued a denial was...

inaccurately and improperly noted in our
system.  We have taken measures to correct this to ensure that returns
are handled differently and more efficiently through the initiation of
an RMA label and number procedure. Our third party collector has been
notified to withdraw and close the claim.  We are
sorry about any inconvenience that this has caused and wish you all the
best with your new baby.  If you have any questions or there is anything
I can do to assist further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Above email was sent to complainant December * at 3:04PM approximately.  Matter has been resolved; claim has been withdrawn and case is considered closed.

Review: We contacted out insurance provider and were given this company's name to send us a breast pump as part of our insurance benefit. We received the breast pump in May 2015 before our twins were born and chose not to open the box until we saw that the insurance covered it. We found out it wasn't covered when Yummy Mummy sent us an invoice saying we owed $250.00 for the pump. At that time I called Yummy Mummy in August 2015 and asked how to send the unopened package back, as we weren't going to pay for a pump since our insurance wouldn't cover it as we had been led to believe.

We were informed that all we had to do was include a copy of the invoice, an explanation as to why we were returning it, and they would handle it. We sent it via [redacted] with tracking.

On 9/**/15 an individual signed for receipt via [redacted]. We thought the matter was closed. Shortly after that, we started receiving collection letters from an attorney in NY. We contacted that attorney and showed her the proof. We also contacted the company via phone and email numerous times as well as cc'ing the attorney. They refuse to resolve this matter even though we have all the proof anyone needs. We have received no closure on this matter and we just got another letter from the collection attorney.Desired Settlement: We want the billing invoices and collection letters from their attorney to stop, a billing adjustment to be made and complete closure of this matter. We have proof that we sent the package back.

Review: I filled an order for a breast pump for my wife before she was to deliver. It was supposed to arrive a month before her due date and never arrived. I eventually had to go and buy one with my own cash before she delivered. Yesterday I received a notice from a collection lawyer saying that I owe the company 300$ because my insurance denied the claim because it was no longer active! I never received any notice or letters from the company themselves saying that they did not receive pay and was sent directly to collections. I never even got a breast pump but they made sure to send a bill. I opened an investigation with [redacted] for the missing package as well the Revdex.com for how this company is handling the situation. What kind of people send you collections without even bothering to talk to you.Desired Settlement: I never received any products from this company. I want this bill and collection lawyer to go away. Also for them to not resort to a collections agent as their first response. They never sent me any information or attempted to contact me about this. The first thing I received was a letter stating that I would be sent to collections if I didn't cough up the money. This kind of intimidation is disgusting.

Review: I ordered a breast pump at the yummy mummy website using my health insurance and received it in the mail in a timely fashion. I had spoken with my health insurance prior to the order to confirm that the pump was covered, But then I received a bill from yummy mummy for the amount of the pump. I called my health insurance company and the rep stated that the pump was not covered by the insurance. When I called yummy mummy to see if I can return the item, a rep said that they would not allow a return but she would speak to a supervisor about my case and would then contact me. I have yet to hear from a rep but continue to get billing statements from the store. I have called and spoke with 2 other reps without resolutions. I don't know how else to resolve this issue, Although I was initially misinformed about the pump from my insurance company, Yummy Mummy should know to verify all orders with the insurance company prior to shipping them especially if they have a no return policy..Desired Settlement: Return the pump

Sincerely,

I ordered a pump through this company in August 2015. It states in various places on their website and in my order confirmation that the pump would not be shipped until insurance coverage, including the need for a prescription, was verified. I received email notification that my pump had shipped so based on the website and emails I received I took that as confirmation that my coverage was verified and there was no need for a prescription or any further attention to the matter. In November 2015 I started receiving bills from this company which I perceived to be a mistake. I was later informed upon reaching out to the company I was being required to call my doctor to get a prescription or I would be billed $250. I think this company misrepresents the service they are offering in making it easy to get prescription covered breastpumps - this process was not easy. The company made no attempt to pro-actively contact me about the need for a prescription instead they sent me a bill for an item that when I ordered it from their website stated it would cost me $0.00.

Desired Outcome:

This company needs to improve their insurance coverage verification process and improve communication to customers. It is unacceptable to send a customer an unexplained bill and not pro-actively reach out to discuss matters with insurance and billing prior to sending bills and expect the customer to reach out and dispute the bill.
