Review: Summary: I paid a lawyer I got through [redacted] $3000.00 for services he has failed to provide and is not responsive below is the latest email I sent his group detailing my experience. I need help. His phone number is [redacted]
His response to the email below was to have the secretary call me to schedule a meeting. I explained I had a conflict at the time he had available and I didn't need to meet with him I needed an email telling me when I would get my paperwork done and he never responded to the email.
Dear Zachary Law Group:
I am getting very concerned and am detailing why below:
I retained your services in July to sever the biological father of my children rights and help facilitate the adoption for my current husband to adopt the children. We initiated paperwork for a mediation to do this. Upon receipt the father said he would willingly sign a document stating he would sever rights, pay back support and I would end the right to any future support rather than going through trial or mediation. To respect this I requested your law group draw it up and wanted a time frame on when this would happen for fear he would change his mind and further delay the adoption process.
On August 7, 2015 I sent the first email requesting this paperwork and a time frame on when I would receive it.
On August 10, 2015 I sent a clarifying email and a second request for paperwork and time frame.
On August 11, 2015 the receptionist called and scheduled an appointment with [redacted].
On August 12, 2015 I had the phone call where I was told [redacted] was not working on the paperwork anymore since she did not handle adoptions and I would get a call from [redacted] Monday August 17, 2015
On August 19, 2015 I sent another email requesting an ETA on the paperwork to sever rights.
On August 20, 2015 I was called to set up an appointment with [redacted]
On August 21, 2015 I was told by [redacted] I had to retain a second lawyer for the portion of the process of facilitating the adoption for billing reasons. He asked that I hire this lawyer get their information and sign an agreement so they could work with each other.
The lawyer I hired agreed to do the adoption only and did not feel it was necessary to correspond with Zachary law group as she was only going to reference the severance in the paperwork once it was completed. She indicated severance and adoption are separate issues and I retained you for severance and so I needed to use your law group for this. I sent an email before close of business on 8/21/2015 clarifying this requesting we move forward with the severance paperwork. I requested an ETA on Monday 8/24/2015 for when the paperwork would be drawn up or my money back if you could no longer provide this service either.
It is now close of business August 24, 2015 I have been waiting 14 days (August 10-August 24) and not only do I feel like the paperwork should be started by now but I think it is an unreasonably long time for someone to provide an estimated time for when services would be provided.
When will the paper work be drawn up? I need an answer and I need it now. This is affecting the future of my children and as a mother that is completely unacceptable. I am requesting you simply reply with a date when I can expect the paperwork to be completed. Or if you are not willing or able a refund of my retainer, if that route is chosen please simply reply that is the course of action you have decided to take.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want a refund or the paperwork filed. I want the business to respond to me. I have another lawyer who can do the severance for me so at the point I want a refund.
