I am responding to the complaint you sent me with an ID of *** I have reviewed Mrs***'s complaint and am a little confused by her claims I have attached the original invoice when we fixed the vehicle I also attached the invoice for the second time when
the customer decided not to fix the vehicle, and I attached an estimate to show what the cost would have been if the vehicle had been repaired As you can see the original complaint on the vehicle was that it would not go into reverse We had to replace a part that had broken on the shifter of the car to allow it to go into reverse We did have to order this part from the Volkswagen dealer who informed us it was in Germany We cannot control how fast or slow the parts come after we order them If a customer ever expresses a need for transportation while their vehicle is in our shop we offer them a rental car from Enterprise rental for $30.00/day Mrs *** either did not let us know she was having trouble getting around or declined the rental Once the part came in we installed it and Mrs*** picked her car up and it would go into reverse We towed Mrs***'s car in on December, of with a complaint of her car having a clutch issue After checking the hydraulic parts of the clutch system, which can be checked without much disassembling we deduced the problem was in the clutch pressure plate itself We estimated replacing the clutch complete set, and a flywheel We could not confirm the flywheel condition until it was out so we priced it just in case Mrs*** decided to not have the car fixed at that time Mrs***'s car sat until December, of We did not charge Mrs*** any storage fees for letting her car sit here while she decided what she was going to do with it At no time did any of our employees siphon any gas out of the vehicle We also did not leave it outside with the doors open or windows down Mrs*** did not voice any of these concerns when she came here to clean her car out She paid her check out and tow in fee Mrs*** had us tow the vehicle to the home of Julio Gonzales he paid for the tow I contacted Julio and he confirmed that he put a clutch in the car to fix it That is the job we quoted Julio was able to do it for $because he did the labor himself If you look at the estimate the price of the clutch kit is $ I am still unclear where the number $comes into play There is no information that points towards us telling Mrs*** that it would cost $to fix here vehicle I hope this helps clear up any and all issues Let me know if you need any more information Bless The World, John ***

We have done our very best to look into the complaint against us on the engine,we did check the vehicle and the engine was lost due to the lack of oil,I did remove the filter and inspect for metal and condition there was some oil still in the filter,we determined that the vehicle had been driven
with either low oil and or using oil and burning it hard to say now,We have changed the oil first time 9-20-14,81672,second time mileage and the last time at 92793.We did note that had coolant leaks at the bottom of the timing chain cover at miles and the vehicle had been over heated at this time,The oil filter is located at the bottom of the timing cover to the rear of the engine.We have always used the same type filter and done the same inspection at the customer request we have used synthetic oil.I can not say what the fault of the engine problem is.I can not say that any one else could do either other than speculate and guess .I did inspect this vehicle myself and I can not make a determination of the fault .we will be more than glad to help with the repair of the vehicle to help our customer and he has been a customer for us since 2014.I can not say its a fault of our technician the filter was on and the plug tight,we will be more than glad to submit this to our insurance to have a third opinion and inspection to make a determination.If we can resolve this we will help with the repair as far as the labor and what we can do on the parts ,but will not be able to do any thing until we tear down for inspection to see what happen.I will do any thing possible to help .Also the value on this car is between 1400.00/dollars so that is another determining factor the insurance will look at ,This is a very bad situation for both of us I am willing to help,but we have to look at the value also.Please take a look at this if its a matter of us trying to buy the car to resolve the issue we can and will but at the fair market value .Thank you very much David H*** owner of Hobbs Automotive been doing business for plus years and sorry that there is a issue here but lets work it out if possible

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My mother was in fact called and I spoke to her and all the conversation was about is as follows. They informed [redacted] that the remote start was broke before they received the truck and that is untrue! I have 2 witnesses that was present when the remote start worked before giving it to Hobbs Auto Care. The vehicle has a hard time going into gear all the time now never had that issue before taking my vehicle to Hobbs. They did not perform good work at all in fact it is in worse condition after they where suppose to fix it. My new number is [redacted]. I feel they are making excuses for the awful job they did on my truck! Thank you Jason Marlow
