Zap electric performed a wiring repair on my home in November of They added copper wiring to all of my outlets and switches throughout the houseThis was supposed to mitigate the risk of aluminum wiring issuesOne of my switches started smoking in October of 2017, and upon removal of the cover, the wires were meltedI contacted Zap electric and the gentlemen stated that their work is warrantied for two yearsAfter I told him when the issue was, he changed his answer to one yearI consulted another electric company and also a home inspector and they both stated that the method used to install the copper wire is not an approved long term solution, per the Consumer Product Safety CommissionPer the CPSC, “Pigtailing” with TwiConnectors Is Not a Recommended Repair method, which is what Zap installedI have tried numerous times to get Zap electric to come out and fix the issueThey want to charge me for it, and they are always too busy
