Zapien Auto Repair Reviews (1)

I talked to [redacted] came to my shop around June 24th 2016 asked me to fix his 04 Chevy Colorado because the engine light was on. Complaining that he was tired of the truck that the light has been on for about three years. So I then ran the truck through the machine to check what codes were the ones...

that were being marked by the check engine light. It ran various codes. PO171, system lean, PO300, multiple misfire. I explained to [redacted] that it could be many different things. He then said "I'm tired of this piece of sh*# truck I spent a lot of money in the dealership and they couldn’t fix it." I asked him to tell me why so I could have an idea of the history of the truck, why in three years it couldn’t get fixed. He then told me to just take care of it. I saw that he was frustrated from the beginning so I suggested him to fix one thing at a time so it could be a little less money. When checking the truck I saw that it was the intake hose, the intake manifold, and the engine manifold randomly. I suggested changing the spark plugs and cleaning the hose. Then I found out there was a hose broken by the system manifold and it has a vacuum leak and it ran a lot better so I told him the light might come back because you have different codes but let’s start with this because it’s all related lets erase the memory because sometimes it’s not all those codes that is necessary to do all the repairs and he said thank you and took it. After a couple days he came back and said the light turned back on. At this time the codes read for random misfire and misfire on cylinder one and five. Then we found it has a leak on the purge valve for the evp system we assumed the engine was in good condition because he said he paid a lot of money on a valve job in the dealership he then said to change the coils. I told him that that might not solve the problem. Assuming the engine was in good condition we didn’t do a compression check in the beginning so we did one and saw that cylinder one and five were low on compression. I explained to [redacted] the situation he said go ahead and fix it signed the agreement to do a valve job and authorized to remove the head and send it to a machine shop. Also told me to not worry about the light for the gas cap which is the evap problem because it goes on and off he just doesn’t want the engine to be shaky. We fixed the problem and it ran fine. When the A.C got turned on it started shaking again so we started searching and trying to figure it out. In the research we saw that those particular trucks give lots of problems with misfire. In the mean time the engine mechanic went on vacation so it put us behind I talked to [redacted] about it and he said it was fine to take my time. Everything seemed very smooth and then my ex-wife passed away. I told [redacted] that I needed a little bit more time to get my sons situated the funeral and everything I had to take care of outside my shop. With his wife present he said it was fine to not worry he understood but he needed to have a vehicle. I told him I had a van he could drive while I fixed his truck and thanked him for being patient. I also told him I would fix his truck and he said it was fine. I called him the truck was ready. Next morning I went to get my mail and I received a letter from the credit card company that their trying to get the money back, complain they were not satisfied with the job. She came in to office and said I came to pick up the truck I asked where [redacted] was because I needed to explain things about his truck and if he wanted to get the gas tank replaced, also to ask why he wasn’t satisfied she then said that [redacted] was at work and that he would bring the van later on that day. She then said that [redacted] wasn’t going to talk to us anymore and that anything I need to direct to her. I explained to her that [redacted] knew what was going on with the truck and I needed to talk to him because he signed the papers and I couldn’t release the truck to her. She got very angry and left. I tired contacting her and [redacted] many times after that I also was willing fix the gas tank for free but we could never reach an agreement. I've never denied her the truck or to fix it but their procedures that have to be fallowed in order for me to work on the truck. I don’t understand what she wants from us. I also believe there is no reason for her to be asking for half the money if the rental since I did loan her a car while the tuck gets fixed. I want my costumers to be satisfied but there’s only so much I can do.
