We would like to provide a formal rebuttal to [redacted] Z’s response to our Revdex.com claim.  We believe many of his points misstate the facts and we have the text messages to prove that he is twisting the truth in his favor.  [redacted] has shown a pattern of unreliability in his communications.  On several occasions, we had to ask whether he went out to the store as promised to check on a leak 2-3 times.  We found it very frustrating to get updates from him as he was not very proactive in keeping us informed as to the status without us constantly reaching out to him. He also indicated that we chose to cut corners by not following his recommendations by doing a full rip and replace.  This is absolutely not true.  We followed his recommendation on all matters of the roofing repairs.  This is why we hired a professional.  This was a total fabrication to support his side of the story.  We never once stated that we needed to push back on anything he recommended.  We never once stated that we had insufficient funds as this was not the case.  We did say that we were looking to sell the building and would like to keep costs low but this never came into play when it came to making decision on roof repairs. To his point related to another roofer doing work voiding his warranty, this was only done after [redacted] refused to come out a final time to fix the leaks in a timely manner.  We were in a tough situation where the leaks were an ongoing problem and needed to take action to avoid further damage to our tenant.   [redacted] became increasingly combative via text (again we have this conversation) and stated he was out to the property 6 times already so he felt he had held up his end of the bargain. We have phone call records which verify the number of calls which were made to [redacted], of which the vast majority were not returned.  Our expectation is that [redacted] simply did the job he was hired to do.  We spent > $17,000 on his services to fix a leaky roof.  When we decided that he was no longer supporting his warranty the way we felt satisfied his contract, we were forced to seek remediation by another roofing firm.  We did have a few roofers come out to assess the situation when we were struggling with [redacted] but they did not perform any work.  We can prove this with the dates of the work order with Union Roofing and the text messages from [redacted].  We would also like to add that the two roofing companies which looked at the roof after [redacted] completed the roof stated that the work [redacted] had done was done incorrectly and that whoever put the roof down did not know what they were doing.

[redacted]I would first like to respond to this complaint by saying I have been providing this type of work in [redacted] and surrounding counties for 37 years both residential and some commercial properties. This has been the first complaint against my company. I...

have maintained a history of satisfied customers throughout these years in the home remodeling and roofing business. I have not defaulted my warranty in any way on this project. I was contracted to remove all existing roof material down to decking from the first three sections of roof and walls and to install new rubber product. This cost was $13,250. The fourth and final section would be completed at a later date due to limited funds. No problems or leaks occurred with the 3 sections of roof. I was then called to complete the 4th (last) section of roof due to a leak showing up on the ceiling inside the store. Again, due to limited funds, the owners insisted not to remove the old existing roof material from the rooftop on the last section as I had done to the first three. This was explained to the customer well ahead of time before the job started and it was insisted upon due to total expense. This is not standard procedure and I never recommend putting new rubber material down over old existing roof: Nor to lay rubber to wall before the body of rooftop. The cost to complete this section was $4300.September 11th I received a call and went out to the property to observe a leak in same 6 inch area on ceiling above the 4th section of the roof. I suggested not to have drywall area replaced until leak is resolved. The floor was concrete with a 5 gallon bucket catching water. The very next day I then applied tar and fabric to the entire width of the wall of the section in question. I was then called a second time and again responded in a timely manner torching down pieces of rubber onto wall hoping this would resolve this leak. I also applied silicone to cracks between roof sections, cleared leaves and debris from rooftop at went to property numerous times in an attempt to find and fix the leak. We encountered much inclement weather pre winter. The owner was notified I would be there to remove the installed rubber from the problem wall area and reinstall new rubber to that area. At that time I was informed by the costumer that another contractor had gone up on the roof and re-applied rubber to sections of rooftop. I then informed the owner the contract is voided alterations by another company. I charged $4300 for (25) rolls of rubber to complete the body and walls of section 4. The 2nd roofing company charged $3800 for (3) rolls to re-apply rubber to wall only. In good faith I went back to the property and saw the drip still occurring. I did all I could to satisfy the customer and fulfill my workmanship warranty. Therefore, I should not be liable for any expenses as I continued to work to fix the problem at hand.   [redacted]
