Roxie F[redacted] brought in her 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on 1/6/2016 to repair a power steering leak at the cooler line under the radiator. Upon inspection, it was obvious a previous, unprofessional, repair had been...

attempted, by another party, as a hose clamp to the cooler line had been left completely loose. The clamp repair was made and the vehicle was returned to the customer. She then returned with the vehicle on 1/11/2016 and left it with us to recheck a power steering fluid leak. We inspected the leak and found fluid leakage at the rack and pinion unit where the power steering lines connect at the rear of the engine compartment (approximately 4 ft. from the original repair). We were told by Roxie F[redacted] to speak with a gentleman named Ron on the matter. We then explained to him the location of the leak and the repair needed. He declined the repair. We made no physical repairs, only a visual inspection on this visit. The vehicle was returned to Roxie F[redacted] on 1/12/2016. Roxie F[redacted] then called me on 1/13/2016 explaining to me she had picked her vehicle up at 3:00 p.m., was home by 3:30 p.m., walked by the vehicle at 5:00 p.m. and noticed nothing. Then at 7:00 p.m. saw the vehicle on fire. We felt at this time the fire had nothing to do with any service we performed, even more so related to a power steering issue repaired on 1/6/2016. We were in the process of having a private fire investigation performed. Unfortunately, the customer, against our request, refused to leave the vehicle for the investigation. When asked, where the vehicle would be located for further investigation, the customer became belligerent , and replied "We are towing the vehicle now, and having it scrapped". Had the result of the investigation determined fault, we were very willing correct the situation. As of January 21, 2016, the customer refused any further dealings.
