I am responding to a complaint made by a residential property applicant, M [redacted] and K [redacted] ***My handyman, M [redacted] , who is an independent contractor, not an employee, spoke with M [redacted] regarding an apartment we had coming available for rentThe following is a written response from M [redacted] relating to conversations regarding this upcoming vacancy.“I received a phone call from K [redacted] who said they were looking for an apartmentI told her we did have one coming upIn the conversation, she stated that her husband worked for Sycamore SpringsI knew the owner of Sycamore and made a phone call to check his reference, in another conversation, I told them he got a good reference and that I would do my best to help them get an apartmentI told them they would have to fill out an application and submit this with a $application fee to pay for their credit reportOnce this was received, their application would be reviewed by the manager before they could be approvedTheir credit report was unsatisfactory and their application was not approved by managementI relayed this information to them verbally, M [redacted] showed up at an apartment showing and was very rude and aggressiveI had to politely ask him to leaveI then received a very aggressive voice mail from M [redacted] on June 13, asking why his credit was not good enough and why I wasted his time with the apartment showingI responded with a text, which isstill available in my phone, “I don't handle the approval process, I just show the apartments"I told him could get a copy of his credit report if he wanted it, as he paid for itI provided him with a copy of his report within the next couple days, I did not do anything to mislead either M [redacted] or K [redacted] relating to renting an apartmentIn fact, I did everything I could to help themI also told them that there would be another apartment becoming available in the upcoming months, as one of our current tenants had cancer and would be leaving her apartmentThis was in no way implying that thecurrent vacancy would be rented to a cancer relativeThese texts can be provided if you would like." M [redacted] .I have been in business since and have never had a complaint filed against meÎn fact, I am a Real Estate Broker, a Certified Property Manager, and for years owned a large Property Management Company overseeing a residential portfolio of over unitsThis is a disgruntled applicant who did not get approved and was never promised an apartmentHe paid $for a credit report, a copy of which was provided to him upon requestThe cost of this report is $to me, in addition to a $annual membership fee to acquire credit and unlawful retainer reportsThis is by no means a source of income or abuse on my partI am willing to provide proof that paid for the credit report on M [redacted] ***.If you need any further information or proof of any of the above, please contact me.Yours Truly,L [redacted] LJG Properties, Inc
