Hello,
My name is ***. I bought a bedroom set from Zenlia Home Store and had it delivered in mid July 2018. It was a floor model - a night stand, 2 drawers, mirror and bed platform. On day of delivery/ assembly two delivery men brought the order. I discovered damage to the left corner of the bed platform which was not there in the store. The corner was completely chipped off and the piece was missing. I decided not to return the whole order as I was promised that a carpenter will come in and fix the damage and it will be as good as new.

The store sent in the delivery man (***) a week later as the carpenter was on vacation (I don't know why they sent the delivery man) *** came several times (2 times) put on clay/putty onto the corner, came back another day but it did not dry properly so he had to come back and re apply.

Then the carpenter (***) came back from vacation and came as well. He removed all previous work done by the delivery man, questioned why they had sent the delivery man to do his job, I was just as confused as the carpenter. *** fixed the problem, it was as good as new visually.

Then the bed started to squeak, louder as weeks past. Got to a point that when I turn over my wife wakes up and vice versa. I called the store again, the owner (***) said he would send in the carpenter again.

*** came back, he said it was the design and nothing can be done except to replace the frame/support for the mattress.

I asked *** (owner) to help me solve the issue. He told me "the warranty was up, that this is a floor model, that I saved 50% on it, that he himself did not make any money on the sale, that he had already made 2 service calls for me and that he CAN NOT DO ANYTHING MORE". He advised me "go to home Depot, buy some boards to replace the current faulty frame, you got the set half price so you saved money, now you have to spend a little to make it work properly/fix it." He offered to give me the carpenter for the job but I would have to pay for the repairs (i would be billed).

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a full refund. Drawer's surface (which is black) faded and became spotty and white because of an unknown cause. I suspect it was a cleaning agent. I was told its my fault and that nothing can be done. Thats fine. The whole experience was a nightmare, *** tried fixing the problems but when he realized they can't be fixed he told me there is nothing he can do anymore for me. This is unacceptable customer service. I do not believe this faulty set could cost $8000 originally...

invoice which clearly shows customer bought a floor model with three months warranty against manufacturing defects. The purchase was made in May but delivered in July because customer was not ready for delivery. Free storage was given to the customer for two months.

As customer stated, there was a small damage on footboard during delivery and it was fixed by us.

Now customer started complaining about squeaking. Even after the three months we sent our technician to help him as a courtesy. Technician suggested him the solution by adding something (a very small and less expensive solution) but customer refused to follow his advise and rather wanted to him do the same in the next visit.
Customer also started complaining about damaged stain on the dresser which happens to be a reaction to some chemical he used.

This product was sold at a discounted price as a floor model and is no longer under any warranty as per the agreement.

I believe it is fair to say that warranty should start from day of delivery of a product to the client. As the item was delivered in July the warranty should cover until October - Which is when Mr *** was made aware of the problem with squeaky noice coming from the bed frame. (The complaint about the stain was made in September but dismisssd by Mr ***) It did occur earlier as well but having moved into a new home is a busy time and I addressed all issues by priority.

I would like to believe that a business should stand up for the quality of their product instead of writing off their responsibility due to barely expired warranties.

I understand that Mr *** firmly believes that his business is not responsible once the store warranty expires and this is his right. I did attempt to ask him for the factory contacts as I was informed at the time of the purchase that this model was made in Canada. He did not present the factory contacts to me. The product should be under factory warranty and I am willing to contact the factory myself in an attempt to solve this issue.

Also, no storage fee waver was discussed at the time of purchase, no discounts were said to be given. All I was told us that the product will be stored in the warehouse until day of delivery. I just find it *** of Mr *** to say he gave a discount that never existed.

When his carpenter came last time to look at the bed, he called Mr *** in front of me and told him that this is a design flaw, not damage by myself or anybody else and that nothing can be done, that the frame must be replaced.

After asking Mr *** if he is willing to cover the expenses he said firmly no. At this point I started seeking help from the Revdex.com.

I should also mention that the last time Mr *** and I spoke on the telephone he was raising his voice, said he does not wish to fight any longer, that he has already made 2 service calls and that there is nothing else he can do for me... I can say with honesty that I did not communicate to Mr *** in same manner.

I would greatly appreciate if an exception in this case were made and the problem was fixed as my wife and I are simply not getting good sleep due to this issue.
