Zephyr Homes Reviews (4)

Review: I was a customer of Zephyr Homes. They were the contractor that rebuilt my home after Hurricane Katrina. Zephyr utilizes different vendors the build each part of the house. I Replaced my airconditioning system because it was too small for the area, and the walls behind the unit needed to be sealed so air could not escape, and the house could cool down. None of this was done by the contractor. The new aircondition, plus repairs cost me 4,800 dollars last summer, because the house was constantly hot. I just found out I now I have to pay for and replace an entire roof because I had water damage from day one inside my residence. To Zephyrs credit, the did fix that a few times ,and the painters were great. I am not sure if any of this is covered under warranty, but I wanted to inform Zephyr of my problems. They were the only contractor who would get it done from start to finish, am I am greatful for that, but the repairs I have to make on a newly remolded home in such a short time, Hopefully they can assist me or at least offer a reduced rate for the repair. Thanks for your assistanceDesired Settlement: I have already replaced the aircondition system at mt expense for 4,800 dollars, and I have receipts from the replacement and the repair. I have not repaired the roof, but if they could provide materials, labor or replace the roof, I would be extremely happy with the result. I think Zephyr is a good company, but some of the vendors they used were not up to par with my home.

Review: Company did not complete work as stated in contract. Poor work, work was not completed as stated; walls painted the wrong color than stated in contract. Given wrong information as it related to filing of necessarypaperwork in a timely manner. Threatened on more than one occasion toforeclosure although the work had not been completed. Held onto keys tothe residence and refused to give to up until the check was in hand for thecontract deal, but work was not completed. This whole matter, to sum it upwas and is a nightmare.Desired Settlement: Plan to obtain an attorney to go over the contract before I proceed forward

Review: The contractor is 13 months overdue in completing the renovation work on my rental property he has been contracted to complete. Work on this project began August 2012 and was to be completed, November 2012, however, there have been numerous, months at a time, unexplained work stoppages. There have been promises and written agreements to complete the work, the latest being December 2013 in which a punch list was signed by all parties, with the final walk-through supposedly before Christmas, 2013. The work is 90% complete and all agree, that there is less than a weeks worth of work to complete, however, the contractor has not completed the work. In the meantime, we have lost almost $15,000 in revenue on these properties. Zephyr Homes is the sub-contractor.Desired Settlement: We would like the work to be completed as agreed, immediately.

Review: I wasn't given the keys to my property for approximately two years. An inspection was supposedly performed. When the keys was left for me outside of the residence, I learned that the electrical outlets in one of the bedrooms and the living room did not operate nor did the light switch inthe same bedroom did not operate either. There are not crown molding in the residence except the foyer and living room area. The walls were painted the wrong color, the carpet is also the wrong color with no padding or not the padding agreed upon. I also experience problem with no base molding in any rooms to the residence along with cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms that look like they came from the salvage which had paint on each and every one of them. The countertop in the kitchen have cracks in them as well as chips to the mirror in the master bathroom. The bathtubs and drains were stopped up, which had to be corrected. The stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and over the stove microwave or vending hood was also missing, which voided the contract. I noticed wet spots in the baseboard in the foyer/living room area, which possibly could be termites. There also seem not to be any insulation in the walls. To sum it up, I need to have my residence renovated at some point in the future.Desired Settlement: Zephyr's Home, LLC/Home Buyers Advance, LCC needs to refund the Lending Company their money. The inspection company needs to be dealt with alsofor given an okay, when the renovation was poorly performed.
