ZeroMax Movers

We’d like to share a very disheartening moving story regarding our experience with Zeromax Moving located in Brooklyn, NY. The move on March *** went smoothly, but once we arrived to our new home, the experience really began to go downhill. We would like to share our story, so that you learn from our situation. Once the three men unloaded our furniture, they routinely removed the blankets and tape they wrapped around some of our items to protect them. The men left mounds of tape and protective wrap scattered over some of our items we had brought previously brought to our new home. The second they had finished, one of the men said to my husband done. My husband was expecting to venture outside with the mover, where the others were congregated around the truck, so he could pay the bill and tip them. Before my husband could say another word, the mover, in a harsh disgusted tone, said, “what? No tip?”... my husband explained to the man his intentions of attending to that aspect of the business, after he’d gone to the truck with him to settled the bill. Once at the truck, he handled the transaction and, again, without hesitation asked where their tip was. My husband handed them $120 because we were under the impression that only two movers would be used. They looked at the tip, and said “no, there is three guys here. This is for one guy.” My husband profusely apologized, explained the confusion, and expressed how he wish he had more cash on hand. The men made more comments belittling the gratuity and went on their way.

The day after the move, we noticed our numbered box “23” was unaccounted. We called the company and were told to send an email to file a claim. We described the box measurements, the markings, the estimated weight, it’s estimated value of at least $500. To no avail, the box was nowhere to be found. We were offered a $100 refund, and it was deliberately expressed that the pay would be taken from the movers salary. My husband found that unsettling, considering the happenings of this pandemic. We said we felt wrong to take from workers directly.

Yesterday, April *** received a call from an employee saying they found the box on the truck and left it at our doorstep. We couldn’t be more delighted. As soon as we looked at the box, it was evident that the box packaging had been tampered. There was now brown tape holding the top of the package together and our original clear Scotch packaging tape remained on the bottom. Upon opening the box, we found a pair of athletic pants splattered in white paint. We were immediately confused because they do not belong to either of us. All items were accounted for minus one, my husband’s tailored Ralph Lauren suit jacket. Mind you, the pants were still in the box! My question is if the box had been on this truck the entire time, why is our property missing. We reached out to the company, who claims they looked into it. We asked for the jacket to be returned or at the very least, to receive proper compensation for a jacket that was an investment, to have for events and job interviews. They responded to me with an email with, and I quote, “Hi Brooklyn,

Can we refund you $50 for this and close the deal, we did our best to find your box and help in anyway we can.
Please let us know.
