This company sent me two e-mails with their ad stating they would clean 3 rooms for only $149, but when I call, they said for my area (Yelm, WA) the minimum price was $200. This seems very deceptive to me. They force you to take other services that exceed the $200 if you wish to get their service. The ad states in small print that standard room size was 200' and that minimums apply. It is unclear what "minimums" means. I thought it means minimum room sizes because the statement is right after the room size one. I wonder if they offer ANY potential client, the advertised $149 service for three rooms. This is my main concern. The ad gets people to call, yet when they call they get tricked into buying additional services that they don't even want, just to get the advertised price.
The company should be looked into, to see what percent of clients who purchased their services as a result of this ad, paid only the advertised price of $149 versus higher, and potentially much higher prices for additional services the company lures you into, that most didn't want when they responded to the ad.
Hello, we absolutely apologize if there was any confusion about the term "minimums", but it does apply to geographic zone minimums which is our standard language. Yelm is very far from our office and have explained that we do need to make a certain amount for going that far away. The vast majority of customers are within our normal driving range and certainly can take advantage of the $149 pricing. In fact, she is also absolutely able to get the $149 special for three rooms, we would just need her to clean one other room or something else to get to the zone minimum pricing. The $149 for three rooms is still a discounted price.
We attempted to politely explain this, but it apparently was not taken well. We certainly would never force anyone to do anything they didn't want to, and we are ALWAYS up front about pricing before the appointment. Therefore, if the price is not acceptable, the potential customer can certainly choose to not use our service.
