I spoke with the home owner, it was decided that I will come back out to the property after the snow is goneAt that time I will try to clean out the riser pipe for the curb box valve by using a shop vacI had told my employee that this is what I wanted him to try when he went out to install
the new cap and extension pipeHe told me that he thought the dirt and gravel was to compacted to use a shop vacOnce the curb box becomes accessible I will attempt to clean out the curb box riser pipe with a shop vac, if that is unsuccessful I told the home owner that we would discuss what the next step would be and what the added cost would beThe extra cost would be for us to dig down about 3' to 4', remove the complete curb box, clean it out, reinstall the curb box and backfill the dirtMy original quote was for $150, which allowed for one hour of labor ($85) and material cost of $
Review: I received a letter from [redacted] Township requiring me to find and fix the valve to the water box on my property. Zimco Plumbing came out to look at the problem & gave me a quote. A 3 x 3 hole to the top of the box had already been dug by the township. I had 3 quotes done; Zimco was the middle quote so I chose them. When Zimco came out. they replaced the pipe and valve and filled in the hole and sent me an invoice for $136.96. Then I received a call from them telling me that the pipe and valve they attached to the box would not work since the pipe had mud in it that they couldn't get out with a shop vac. I questioned why the pipe was attached and the hole filled in if it wasn't fixed. I believe I talked to the head plumber couldn't explain why that was done. Now there is 2 feet of snow over the area so nothing can be done until spring. I do not think I should have to pay them for work done incorrectly. I have received another invoice and calls concerning this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like to either not pay Zimco for faulty work and hire someone else to fix my problem or have Zimco fix it correctly at the price quoted me. I do not want to pay them for their mistake.
