I appreciate your comments and I apologize for your poor customer experience As I have looked into the matter and spoken with all involved, I believe it was not Anthony’s intent to disrespect you in any way He, however, should have selected clearer language to convey his message as well as been more familiar with our return policy Our posted return policy does allow for refunds without an original receipt and does refer to an amount equal to the lowest selling price during the previous days However, ultimately, the policy reserves the right of the company to have refunds subject to the Store Manager’s approval, which may be limited at his/her discretionIn the present case, Anthony was unable to qualify the items as ones purchased from our store We did carry the same items, however, there was no way to identify the purchase, date of purchase, or purchase price There was no receipt, gift receipt, credit card tracking, or date of purchase presented that would assist in confirming the item as a store purchase In an attempt not to deny the claim, and offer some type of refund, Anthony offered a reduced price for the itemWhile well intentioned, I regret that the decision resulted in a poor customer experience for you Given the situation at hand, I am more than willing to refund the remainder of the purchase price as well as present you with a token of our apology and appreciation for bringing the issue to light for resolution I hope you will continue to be one of our valued supporters in our local community

We picked up the car from the first repair March 7/17. 22 days later the...

vehicle was doing the same thing, all the same lights came on. To correct their statement regarding lights when we took it in to them Feb 15/17, the abs light was on, esp, tire pressure monitor light, traction control, electronic throttle control. When we took it back to them on March 29/17, 22 days later all the same lights were on and the car was running poorly the same as before. I called [redacted] and I told him I wanted the car properly fixed and I was not paying again. What happened on the first visit , they took the car in to look for the problem did not say anything to us, two days later they called and told us it would be [redacted] for the diagnostic this did not include any repair work. To take the car elsewhere we had to pay [redacted] to get car out or [redacted] for them to fix it. This left us no choice but to get them to do the work. We picked up the car on March 7/17 and 22 days later all the same lights were on again. They tell us it is a different problem now and they wanted another [redacted] to repair the exact same problem we paid [redacted] for. After this we have no intention of paying this repair shop another penny. We talked to [redacted] who was referred to us as Operation Manager and told him we would be picking up vehicle and taking back to Porter's Lake. He told us the vehicle would be in their lot and the keys at the front desk and to pick it up when ever we wanted. We picked the vehicle up April 5/17 and picked up keys started the car all the lights were off. We called [redacted] and told him the lights were off do you think we could drive the car to Porter's Lake. He thought it might be better to get towed because the lights could come on at any time. We drove the car around Truro for 10 kms, the lights didn't come back on, but decided not to take a chance and had it towed to our home in Porter's Lake. We stay at our cottage in Upper Stewiacke during the week. when the car got back to our home in Porter's Lake, our son in law [redacted] noticed all the plastic parts around the wheel well were not there. At that time he did not open the engine bonnet, I called [redacted] and told him parts were missing, he apologized for not putting them back on. We then went and picked the parts up on April 6/17 and came home to Porter's Lake on April 7/17. Upon checking the vehicle over on April 7/17 not only were all the parts around the wheel well not on it, when we opened the engine bonnet the housing for the air filter, and hoses going to throttle body band the top cover for the engine body were not on. This stuff was all just loose inside the engine with no filter going into the throttle. This would allow any type of debrie to go into the engine plus these loose parts could have got caught into the fans and caused a lot of damage. However the most serious potential problem the incompetent staff at Blaikies only put 2 lug nuts back on and they are not even tight. I can't imagine what would have happened if we drove any distance. I am surprised we drove any distance at all. At a bare minimum we want [redacted] refunded we paid for original repair, paid immediately, and any more missing parts returned. If we do not receive a full refund by April 17/17 we will be taking legal action for not only the repairs but all the other cost and inconvenience this has caused us.

Re [redacted] case # Complaint Case #:[redacted]

The file under discussion has always been presented to Blaikies Dodge as the vehicle of [redacted] just for clarity.

Repair order #[redacted] was the first repair started February 15, 2017. The vehicle was presented to Blaikies Dodge with the complaint "Customer states engine light is on and vehicle seems to be misfiring"

A copy of that repair order write up, repair estimate and the completed invoice is attached #1 + #2 + #3 and the dealer has explained that repair in a previous response attached #7. This repair matched a "power train control module" that had been diagnosed by the customers "other" repair facility. The "Power train control module" was not the only cause but had been a victim of a wiring problem that Blaikies Dodge also remedied.

The vehicle was towed to Blaikies Dodge on March 29, 2017 with the following complaint attached #4, service estimate #6 and completed invoice #5

The dealer was concerned that this may be related to the previous repair and offered the customer a no charge diagnosis. The issues found were many more than the previous issue; water pump, Alternator, Throttle body and a wiring repair for a wheel speed (Anti-lock brake) sensor.

The total of these repairs exceeded $[redacted] and the dealer ([redacted]) strongly advised the customer that this was a very expensive repair for a vehicle that was not worth spending that kind of money on. This vehicle is in such a condition that additional repairs would more than likely be required in the foreseeable future. The dealer ([redacted]) also advised the customer that due to the previous poor feelings on the part of the customer that there would
be no charge for the diagnosis this time. Blaikies had invested 4.9 hours of a top level trained Chrysler technician's time.

The customer decided to deliberate and advise the dealer on their intentions at a later date. Blaikies removed vehicle from the shop and stored it outside.

The customer called the dealer ([redacted]) and discussed options within a day or so. The customer mentioned the possibility of towing the vehicle away but was concerned that "CAA" would not tow for free from a repair facility. The dealer ([redacted]) did say that they (the Dealer) could move the vehicle to the street adjacent the dealer or even the Sobeys next door.

The customer arrived unannounced and requested the vehicles keys as they were taking it. [redacted] went with the customer to the vehicle and again advised them not to drive the vehicle but to have it towed. The customer indicated that they personally were taking the vehicle to the Sobeys next door and calling CAA.
The dealer ([redacted]) never represented the vehicle as fit for the road or if it was to be driven but in fact stressed that it was not.

The dealer accepts that it is their responsibility that there were parts removed as part of the diagnosis and not reinstalled. When the customer notified the dealer ([redacted]) the parts were immediately located and bagged. [redacted] called the customer to advise them of this and offered to have them installed. The customer responded that this was not a problem they would stop by pick them up and install them personally. [redacted] apologized for this and the customer accepted the apology.

The dealer ([redacted]) has not heard for the customer from the moment they picked up the parts and is shocked that the customer has returned again the Revdex.com when had they any concerns a simple call the [redacted] could have rectified their concerns.

Blaikies Dodge repaired the vehicle in good faith for the customer and had "cured" their current issue, it is unfortunate that the customer has purchased a vehicle that does not meet their needs. It is not the repair facilities fault that the vehicle requires addition expensive repairs now and could very well need more in the future.

Thanking you for your time and consideration

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2017/04/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is obvious from the reply that Blaikies has a huge communication problem at their business, or the worst customer services, or both. For the third time when this vehicle was taken back to Blaikies on March 29, 2017 the same engine lights were on as when it was taken to them the first time on February 15 2017. On March 29 2017 Blaikies did not offer a no charge diagnoses or anything else. We demanded them to fix the problem this time, which was the same problem the vehicle had the first time it was there. I have no idea why they are talking about the alternator and water pump; both of these are cover under warranty for the vehicle. The problem we wanted repaired was the throttle control light which was the same problem that we paid $[redacted] to repair in February 2017. They wanted another $[redacted] plus to repair the same problem, we are not paying this business anymore and we are demanding a refund of the $[redacted] that we paid for this problem that wasn't fixed properly. As for not informing the dealer when we were taking the vehicle, I personally talked to [redacted] about this vehicle and when we were picking it up. He told me it would be in the parking lot and ready when we got there. [redacted] went into get the keys and [redacted] walked out with [redacted] and watched her get in the vehicle. [redacted] started the car and then came over to my vehicle and said there was no engine lights on, she asked if we should drive it home or get it towed; at that time I called [redacted] from our vehicle and asked what he thought, he said you can try to get it home however this light may come back on and it may break down on the side of the road. At no time did he tell me that this vehicle was in pieces or that we shouldn't drive it. We drove the vehicle around Truro for 10km the light didn't come back on but we decided not to take the chance so we had it towed to our home in Porters Lake. We stay at our cottage in Stewiacke during the week.
When the car got back to our home in Porters Lake, our son in law [redacted] noticed that all the plastic parts around the wheel well weren't there. At that time he did not open the engine bonnet. I called [redacted] and told him parts were missing, he apologies for not putting them back on. We than went and picked up the parts on April 6, 2017 and came home to porters lake on April 7, 2017. Upon checking the vehicle on April 7, 2017 not only were the parts around the wheel well not on when we opened the engine bonnet the housing for the air filter and the hoses going to the throttle body and the top over for the engine body were not on. This stuff was all lose inside the engine with no filter going into the throttle. This would allow any type of debris to go into the engine plus the lose parts could have gotten caught into the fans and caused a lot of damage. However the most serious potential problem the incompetent staff at Blaikies only put two log nuts back on the front wheel and they weren't even tight. I can't image what would have happened if we drive any distance. At the bare minimum we want the $[redacted] we paid for the original repair paid immediately. If not we will be taken legal action for not only the repairs but also all other costs and inconvenience this has caused us. I called to speak to owner John MacNeil to let him know the condition of the vehicle they gave us to drive, he said he would call us back but he never did.

I appreciate your comments and I apologize for your poor customer experience.           As I have looked into the matter and spoken with all involved, I believe it was not Anthony’s intent to disrespect you in any way.  He, however, should have selected clearer language...

to convey his message as well as been more familiar with our return policy.  Our posted return policy does allow for refunds without an original receipt and does refer to an amount equal to the lowest selling price during the previous 30 days.  However, ultimately, the policy reserves the right of the company to have refunds subject to the Store Manager’s approval, which may be limited at his/her discretion. In the present case, Anthony was unable to qualify the items as ones purchased from our store.  We did carry the same items, however, there was no way to identify the purchase, date of purchase, or purchase price.  There was no receipt, gift receipt, credit card tracking, or date of purchase presented that would assist in confirming the item as a store purchase.   In an attempt not to deny the claim, and offer some type of refund, Anthony offered a reduced price for the item. While well intentioned, I regret that the decision resulted in a poor customer experience for you.  Given the situation at hand, I am more than willing to refund the remainder of the purchase price as well as present you with a token of our apology and appreciation for bringing the issue to light for resolution.  I hope you will continue to be one of our valued supporters in our local community.
