Zimmers Landscaping does our snow removal. I would NOT recommend them. We did not have very much snow this year but the snow that we did have was not removed. Each time it snowed I had to call them to see if/when they were coming. One of the few times this year when we had 8 inches of snow they didn't show up. I finally reached John, the owner, acted surprised when I told him no one had showed up to do snow removal. Then he advised me someone would be there by 3:30 pm. The next morning I came to work and NO snow removal was done. I again called him and he again, ACTED surprised and said someone would be out. By noon, I finally had someone doing snow removal. They did a terrible job, leaving ice behind that was a hazard. So I then sent my maintenance team out to clean up the mess. We hired them for all snow removal on sidewalks and parking lot. Next year, we will not be using them. I called John this morning because we have ice and snow and he said he would call me back in about 10 minutes. 40 minutes later, no call, no snow removal people.
In May of 2015 Zimmers Landscaping Company was one of three companies to submit a proposal to my church to rebuild a failed retaining wall. I had each company submit a price to repair the failed part and a price to rebuild the whole wall. John [redacted] submitted a competitive price for the failed portion, and said he would donate the time and material necessary to repair the remainder of the wall for that price. A very generous offer. We agreed to a Sept start date, allowing us time to raise the money. By August we had the money to proceed and I asked John to resubmit a new proposal to reflect the cost of an extra drain. No proposal was forthcoming for 10 days and a no show meeting after that prompted me to seek another company. I guess he wanted out of the offer. No legal contract was signed but time was wasted and we got close to not getting anything done this year.
