I can only address [redacted] about this puppy. All of the paperwork and sale sign for this puppy has Rottweiler/Great Pyrenees Mix advertising it as a mixed breed puppy. We first, heard that he was unhappy with the puppy the week of 3/17/2014. According to the Dog Purchaser Protection Act, the purchaser has 30 days for genetic or hereditary diseases. It has been closer to 90 days past purchase date actually breaking the contract that we had with him.We then offered him, to bring the puppy back for a refund. He refused that offer.[redacted]’s veterinarian told him the puppy has webbed feet; it must have Labrador Retriever in it. He didn’t want a Lab. They are hyper and need a lot of exercise. Well he did buy a Rottweiler/Great Pyrenees Mix, and all the books I read say Rottweiler’s need exercise too.Zimmers Pets consulted a licensed veterinarian that stated, “All dogs have skin between their toes. If you want to call it a web, then, all dogs have webbed feet.”Dr. [redacted] of [redacted] Veterinary Hospital advised us.When we buy puppies for our store, we go to each and every location so that we can see what kind of environment they grow up in. Review: My husband and I went to Zimmers pets 1 Sunday afternoon and we went to look at the kittens. My husband bought it for me as a gift (anniversary). The owner, [redacted] Zimmer, never enclosed any type of information about the kittens. All he wanted me to do was to purchase the kitten and to get out of his store immediatelye. They sold me a kitten that had a neurological disorder. No sooner I bought him, I had to put him down and was a waste of my $43 . It brought me to tears. I don't know what to do, and I don't know how Zimmers pets finds their animals. Their employees are rude!Desired Settlement: A refund of $43 for a kitten that had neurological disorder. I'm still upset that he's gone and Zimmers pets don't allow returns, but I'd like a refund of $43 to make me feel kinda better. $43 for a kitten that my headband bought for me that turned out to be defective broke my heart, the vet couldn't fix him. They recommended me to put him down. I don't know what else to do but they should be closed down. Don't know how they're still in business. They don't allow returns.

Review: My boyfriend and I purchased what we thought was a Rottweiler/Great Pyrenese mix from this store in December. The puppy has webbed feet which after discussing with the vet is not a characteristic of either of these breeds. The dog is part lab. Labs are very hyper active dogs and we were not looking for this breed and chose the breed we did as it would not need to be as active and a lot of space to run. When we went into the pet store to discuss the issue the employee on hand stated the litter was from one of the store employees and the owner would call regarding the situation. He never did. When called this week at first the owner tried to act like it wasn't him that answered the phone. He stated he was not responsible for the misleading info that he was at the mercy of what his employee told him bring the dog back for a refund. I have contacted the owner through the company's web page stating that I feel it is his responsibility to know what he is selling to his customers and he shouldn't be misleading them. We have had the dog for 4 months now and the family is attached to her. She is not some car that you just take back or trade in. Not to mention I have kept up on her shots/care and have paid $500 in vet bills. I have sent the owner an email through their web page asking for some sort of refund resolution that would make both parties happy and he can take up any loss he feels he has incurred with his employee. Just like he didn't return the phone call he is not responding to that either.Desired Settlement: I would like to see both sides agree to some sort of refund as what the store sold and advertised is not what was delivered.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1. In response to Zimmer's statement of not having to communicate with me....I was not the purchaser who signed however, I was present at the time of purchase. If the company would like, I can have the complaint process started all over again with [redacted] as the filer. Nothing will change.2. The Dog Purchaser Protection Act is in regards to genetic or hereditary diseases, not in regards to a business misrepresenting the breed of the animal they are selling.3. I found it odd that the only vet that Zimmer's quoted was the one that they refer all their business to. It is the only vet that they refer all their business to.4. Website "[redacted]"...what validity does this site have. It appears that Zimmers has attached a blog of responses from individuals. Who are these people? I have attached information from [redacted] stating that not all dogs have webbed feet and listed the breeds that do. Rottweilers and Great Pyrenees are not among the breeds.5. I can tell the difference between skin between the paws and webbing. The puppy they sold has webbed feet. If they would like pictures of other breeds (i.e. rottweilers, german shepherds, etc.) as compared to the dog they sold then I will be more than happy to provide them as I have had pictures obtained from other dog owners.6. I have attached both [redacted] and Zimmer's Revdex.com ratings as further backup to [redacted]'s validity and that Zimmers has had complaints filed against them before.7. Attached are [redacted] responses from other's in my area who have knowledge of this business' reputation.8. Spoke to another individual this weekend who went to school with the Zimmer's children and has knowledge of the family. Was told this business does this sort of thing all the time. It is my understanding that the store can't sell a pure bred dog because they have tried to pass a mix breed off a as pure in the past. 9. I have contacted the PA Department of Agriculture to confirm the inspection process. I am awaiting their response. 10. Zimmer's states that they inspect the parents and locations of every litter they sell. If this is the case, why were we told that the only information they have to rely on is what the owner of the litter tells them which happened to be one of their employees this time. I don't understand how a business can continue to operate misrepresenting what they are selling in order to overcharge customers. No matter what the item, I feel it is a poor way to do business. However, it is quite despicable when it comes to animals that families gain attachment to.
