Thank you for allowing us to respond to the complaint that was filed against our Home Furnishings Store, ZINC HOME We sold a painting to our customer ( [redacted] along with many other items for his shop in [redacted] *** The custom painting that [redacted] purchased is a hand painted piece of art made in Vietnam We purchase these paintings through our vendor, BOBO INTRIGUING OBJECTS in Atlanta, GA who have a stellar reputation for the home furnishings and art that they sellWhen [redacted] called us to explain what had happened to the artwork, we called our vendor to see what could be done Please note that in the art world, paintings are NEVER refunded after the period of time that [redacted] had this art, because there is no guarantee as to where the piece was stored prior to hanging, the care taken during transport of the art, if the artwork was under the proper lighting (i.e.) not under direct, hot shop lights, and what the care had been to the overall piece in general since the point of purchase With that noted, [redacted] came back with one estimate that was unreasonably high and because of that, our vendor said that they would REPLACE the art for another piece at NO CHARGE They will only agree to do this, this one time, as stated before, it is unprecedented to replace artwork held in a customers hands for months We would also like to say that we have sold many other pieces of this same artwork on canvas with NO iSSUES, nor has our vendor ever had a return on this painting.We have been in business for years with absolutely NO complaints from our customers or design clients We pride ourselves on offering the best customer service we can, knowing full well, that we are a small business and people can shop at many different retail stores of their choice What sets us apart, is the fact that we DO offer the best solution we can (within reason) to make our clients happy We also have a FINAL SALE policy posted prominently at our desk and feel that offering [redacted] a FULL REPLACEMENT of his painting at no charge was more than fair and just.Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to refute these allegations and we look forward to rectifying the situation as previously discussed for [redacted] Many thanks,T [redacted] and Rod B [redacted] Zinc Home

I am rejecting this response because:
For the reasons outlined:The proprietor assisted me in loading the packaged artwork into the euro-vanThe painting was hung 20ft high, unobstructed by all objects, by a year former set designer for CBS and year contractor which was hung on the same day the proprietor assisted in loading the van Upon being hung a photo was sent to the proprietorThe artwork, sits among other valuable pieces of artwork and fabrics and sewing machinery in a 2000sqft space with ft ceilings in a climate controlled spaceA third party expert was requested pursuant to the proprietors recommendation to identify the warpingThe third party, *** *** *** *** has been in business for over years working alongside famous artists including Jeff K*** who determined that "warping of this nature over such a short period of time is improbable in the northeast unless it was sitting in a garage and was exposed to extreme changes in temperature Additionally, paintings as large as this one, which is 80" x 80" MUST BE SUPPORTED USING ALUMINUM BARS AND NOT RECLAIMED WOOD and that if there are any questions you can contact *** *** who has nearly a century worth of experience in these mattersThe fact that my only recourse was to accept a replacement with NO RECOURSE AS A CONSUMER, which may be framed using the same faulty materials is unethical and forces me to accept what could be another defective piece
