I ordered a wedding album and 2 parent albums from Zinser Photography, I originally wanted thick cardboard books. Zinser Photography then talked me into getting a book that allowed more photos. I never was shown a sample album to see what the pages would look like, but I was assured the pages would still be thick and lay flat like I wanted. I received the parent album and my wedding album and the pages were not like I was lead to believe. They did not lay flat. My wedding album also had blue stripes and markings on many of the pages. I was told I would not be given new parent albums but the my wedding album would be re ordered due to the markings. When I asked for a refund for the albums and would return the albums that I received, because the parent albums and wedding album were not what I was lead to believe they would be, I was denied.Product_Or_Service: Photo albumsDesired SettlementI would like a refund of $1875, which is what I paid for a wedding album and 2 parent albums. Business Response When I sent your pictures to you I told you to look over them and let me know if you wanted a lay flat album with 10 pages 20 sides and around 20-30 images in the album or if you wanted to pick 100 images with the album I showed you at my studio and wedding shows on a variety of occasions. You said that you loved the pictures and definitely would want the album with more pages. I told you it would not be the lay flat because with 100 images and unlimited pages it would not have that option. I told you that it would be the album like what I had at my studio. When you first came to my studio and all of the other times you came to my studio the only album I had on display was the album you ordered. When you both came to my studio I had the album you ordered and picked on the table from multiple Grove weddings that you both looked at and viewed. We designed and ordered the album that you wanted with 100 images and unlimited pages. I was very specific with you after you received your wedding pictures and gave you two options. Option one was a lay flat album with 10 pages 20 sides and 20-30 images picked out for the album. You picking 100 images shows that the lay flat album was not even an option. You wanted more images in your album and that was option two with the only album I ever showed you and had on display at my studio and at any wedding show or open house. I have ordered all albums over again on the thickest and heaviest paper that was available. On a 66 page album that is a lot of pages and the thicker paper like you said you wanted this last time was used as well. When you have such a thick album with 100 images the lay flat option is not available and I discussed that with you in detail. I also did face time with you to look at the layout of the album and you approved the album and I went over the album with you again at that time. I have no reason or the time to make an album for you that you did not want. I designed and ordered exactly what you asked for and viewed many times at my studio. I have never had a different album in my studio or at any wedding shows or events besides the one you ordered. To say that I never showed you the album that you received is not true. The album you received is the only album I have ever had on display. Every meeting I had with you or with any bride I always have albums on the table for them to look at with their wedding venue location or albums with images from the time of year that they were getting married. I had the albums on display that you ordered in my studio, at wedding shows and on the table when you booked my services and viewed of multiple Grove weddings. You had the option for lay flat with 20-30 images or the album you ordered with 100 images and unlimited pages. I would never order an album that a bride did not tell me to order. I have no reason or the time to do that. You wanted more images and once you received your album you then wanted the lay flat album. You asked for me to hand deliver your album from Indiana to Reno, Nv. I did not open the album because I did not want anything to happen to the album. I opened it in front of you and the 10x13 album had some pages that were not printed right. I told you that I would re order the album right away. Not only did I order the 10x13 album for you I ordered two more parent albums and had them rush ordered and delivered to me and I also sent them 2-3 day to make sure you received all of the new albums before Christmas. 66 pages in a lay flat album was never an option and still is not an option. It is too many pages and pictures for the first option that I gave you of 10 pages 20 sides with 20-30 images that you said you did not want and that is why you picked out 100 images for option 2. I enjoyed meeting you and working with you and your families and I designed and ordered the album that you picked out. I even re ordered two more parent albums that never had an issue from the printing press for you as well and used the thickest paper that they had available. I have done everything I can to resolve the issue with the album that you asked for and ordered with 100 images and unlimited pages that I showed you many times on different occasions and that you ordered. I can understand being upset that the album had a couple issues but what you wrote was not true and you have received a new 10x13 album with 66 pages and 100 images in the album and two new parent albums as well. I can take a picture of the 50 Albums that I had at my studio when you came to meet with me and I can also take a picture to show the albums I specifically showed you when we met. Like I said before, I do not have the time to design and order an album that a bride didn't order and pick out. I have been in business for a long time and have always delivered and done what the bride ordered and asked for and it is no different in your case. You had nothing but great things to say about the pictures and you also said that their were so many great pictures that the lay flat album with 10 pages and 20 sides would not work because you loved all of the pictures. I wish you the best and I designed and ordered and gave you exactly what you asked for and ordered. This is not True. I went to his studio twice. The first time was when we decided to hire him and the second time was to drop off a check, which he wasn't even there and I had to hand the check to another lady who worked at the [redacted], but did not work for Zinser Photography. While I did approve the layout of the photos I did not know he pages would not lay flat. His books I have found out since this incident are made through BLURB and only cost him around $90 for the 10x13 to make, when he charged me $1875 for the 10x13 and 2 parent albums. That is an extreme rip off and when I have since tried to contact him to discuss this issue he has not responded. He told me he would look Into other options for my wedding album since I wanted the lay flat pages and expressed my disappointment in the albums I received. He sent me almost the exact same album and did not look into other options for an album with layflat pages like I was told. The pages are not much thicker and I can take pictures to show that. The albums are not what I wanted, the pages I was told before this whole incident would still be thick and lay flat like I wanted and the albums do not reflect what I wanted. [redacted] Zinser is just trying to give the lowest quality product so he can make a ridiculous amount of profit and pay as little for the product for the customer. I want a refund and do want want any of his albums, they are not what I wanted or payed for.
