ZM Carpet and Flooring Reviews (2)
Review: The owner had me pay for my hardwood floors upfront and sign off to authorize to begin work as well as have me initial that the contracted services were satisfactorily completed. I did not realize this until I looked at my receipt. He charged me $822 to clean and wax my hardwood floors. He started at 9 am and rushed the job and completed before 12 pm. The floors were still dirty and had white streaks all over the hardwood floors. I paid an extra $100 for a 24 month warranty. In addition, he charged me twice for the service so my bank card was charged $1,644. I was very perturbed and called him to explain to him that he had charged me twice for the service and he did not do a good job. He told me it was not his job to clean my hardwood floor. I told him that is what I paid him for. I also told him that I needed my $822 back immediately because he had overcharged me. The receipt that he provided had terrible handwriting on it but it does indicate a 24 month warranty. He promised that he would come back the next day (4/18/13) to fix the problem. I called him several times and text him and he said he would come when the store closed but he never showed up and he refused to take my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like my $822 back because the service was very poor and bad customer service. The owner was not apologetic or sympathetic for charging me twice for the poor service. I feel that I was taken advantage of and the job was a rushed job and not quality service!
Review: I am writing this letter to express my disappointment in the sanding and resurfacing job that was presumed to be completed at on 12/19/13. I arrived home to find dark stains and generally rough, discolored wood floors that looked significantly worse than they did previous to the “service.” I had been expecting to see an improvement, and I was given verbal assurance from the Z.M. Carpet and Hardwood Floors representatives that the floors would look better. After the job was presumed to be completed, the representatives acknowledged my disappointment and agreed that the floors looked worse, however, they were unable to provide any helpful solutions aside from replacing the wood pieces, at an additional cost to me.
I have listed my specific concerns below.
1. I question whether or not the floors was properly sanded, or even sanded at all. I have reason to believe they were not based on the look of the floors and the fact that there was no sand residue left in the apartment, even on shelf areas that were not covered.
2. It appears that the job was done hastily and improperly as there is significant discoloration on certain areas of the floor. The original markings on the floor that I had requested the removal of actually ended up becoming even darker and more visible due to the stain that was used. Additionally, there are black markings all over the wood that were not there before.
3. Individuals who worked on the floor agreed that it did not turn out as planned, and I am having trouble understanding why the service was recommended to me in the first place. Now, I have to replace the wood in certain places and the company is offering a discount on this service. I think that it is fairly evident how someone in my shoes could feel that they are being taken advantage of in this situation.
4. Last, there were polyurethane stains left on the sideboards and walls that I am having trouble removing.
I have photos which can be included.Desired Settlement: Given these circumstances, and the fact that I would hope that Z.M. Carpet and Hardwood Floors holds their work in a higher regard than what has been demonstrated in this instance, if the company is unable to remedy the situation, I do not expect to be charged for this service as it has resulted in the need for me to expend more time and money to restore my floors to the condition that they were in prior to hiring Z.M. Carpet and Hardwood Floors.
My name is [redacted] and I am calling to, actually I would like to cancel the complaint against, my complaint submitted against ZM Carpet and Hardwood Floors. My id is [redacted] and the reason that I would like to cancel this complaint is that the company has agreed to come back and re-do the damage that has been or fix the damage that has been done to the floors. So I was lucky enough that they agreed to do that for me after you know a lot of back and forth. Anyway if you have any questions please give me a call at ###-###-####. Thank you.
