This was my final offerSince it has been refused, the offer is withdrawn and I now consider the matter closed

Sorry for the delay in response, I was out of town for two weeks and the originalletter never made it to my deskIn the matter addressed in the complaint, I havehad several e-mail conversation with the customer but she refuses to exceptanything but what she has demanded.I will try to summarize the situation for youMs [redacted] is a neighbor of myyoung niece who works with an animal rescueShe was looking for some shadecovers and my niece offered to check with her family's company, us, to see if wemade anything like thatMy niece [redacted] called me and asked if I could helpI saidsure, sent her a picture of the material and [redacted] responded that the customer saidit was perfect go aheadSeeing as I was helping out a friend of my niece running acharity, I sold them to her at cost and did not charge the non-refundable deposit of50% charged on custom made ordersWe cannot resell custom orders as they aremade to specific dimensions for a specific purpose. When Ms [redacted] received the order she decided they were not what shewanted even though they were made correctly, and asked [redacted] how to return themand get a refundI told [redacted] that it was company policy that she must find a way toship them back to us and when I received them I would refund the original balance, which I did.It is our policy first to not take a return on a custom order, second the shipping isnever refunded unless we made a grievous mistake, and third there is a 15%restocking fee for orders that were correct but the customer does not want.We waived several policies because my niece was involved and it was for a charity, but having lost all the money on this order already, through no error on our part, Icould not refund the return shippingAll of the communication up to the point thatshe wanted the return shipping refund was made through my niece, NOT arepresentative of the company, just a family member who has never even workedhereDespite my niece requesting several times that the customer contact usdirectly so there could be no misunderstanding, she refused to do so.It is our feeling at Deal Rite, Inc., that we did everything possible to help out acharitable organization and in return have been made out to be money hungryvillainsMy niece's life has also been disrupted by this as the customer is holdingher responsible, and again she is not a representative of Deal Rite and has assuredme she never implied that she was. This woman has made a number of unsubstantiated accusations against us andthreatened all sorts of retribution against usI feel we have done more than ourpolicies even require us to do and after her treatment of my niece and threateninge-mails, facebook posts and who knows what else, I am disinclined to take thismatter any further. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at the numberabove

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. If the company is allowing a family member, who has on many occasions called the company "her" company (as far as I know, her father left her 1/of the company when he passed away), then they should honor what that person saidWhat was stated to me, as sent in a previous attachment, was that there would be a return shipping label sent to meThe following day I was told that I needed to send the items back at my cost up front, but that it would be refunded to me when the items were received backThis is what I was told by the person acting on behalf of a family businessI feel I am due the return shipping costs stillAdditionally, I do find it rather sad that the company is okay with promising money be refunded to a charity and then backing outOrganizations such as ours cannot afford to throw $bucks down the drainIt's true, we rescue dogs, and that $would go a long wayClearly some businesses are more worried about $than about doing what is right, and what was promised, even if it affects a nonprofit charityI am sorry we ever chose to do business with Deal Rite in the first place, and will not drop this until the matter is resolved appropriately

situation for you. Ms. [redacted] is a neighbor of myyoung niece who works with an animal rescue. She was looking for some shadecovers and my niece offered to check with her family's company, us, to see if wemade anything like that. My niece [redacted] called me and asked if I could help. I saidsure, sent her a picture of the material and [redacted] responded that the customer saidit was perfect go ahead. Seeing as I was helping out a friend of my niece running acharity, I sold them to her at cost and did not charge the non-refundable deposit of50% charged on custom made orders. We cannot resell custom orders as they aremade to specific dimensions for a specific purpose. When Ms. [redacted] received the order she decided they were not what shewanted even though they were made correctly, and asked [redacted] how to return themand get a refund. I know that the easy thing to do would be to just give her the $39.65 so she goes away. I was never taught to do things the easy way, but to do things the RIGHT way. That being said, even after following all industry standards and practices in this situation, there seems to be no way that right will prevail. I am making my one and only offer to finally settle this matter. If the customer will withdraw her complaint and remove or retract the negative comments made on facebook or elsewhere and refrain from future comment or contact with the company or its  "representatives", I am willing to meet her halfway and refund her $19.83. I will expect the removal and retractions to be verified. If this offer is refused I will consider the matter closed.

That's too bad that you feel it's appropriate to do business that way. I hope you enjoy your $40 and all the negative feedback online.
