Reference #:[redacted]Re Review: I sincerely apologize for what is a misunderstanding. When you walk into the restaurant the sign clearly states “Enjoy our buffet for $14.95 per person.” On EasterSunday, we added a service charge to all parties, which was stated on the sign. As in all of California, tax is added to food items, so there is no way of the buffet price being ONLY 14.95.The sign does not say ONLY PAY that amount. There is no where on the sign that states drinks are included or tax. All other items are added at the end. In order to keep our buffet prices low and keep the same great quality, we cannot offer a drink with it. I can hardly understand what the complaint was about. I would like to know how many people and how many drinks they had. [redacted]Zorbas Restaurant[redacted]

Review: I went to the restaurant to have what they are known for which is the buffet. At the front of the register there is a large sign that states the price of the buffet, and underneath that there is a statement that says " 15% gratuity added to all parties of six or more" in smaller writing underneath but still clearly visible. If to order a la cart you may ask for a menu and order. So we sat at the tables, ate our food and stood up to pay. At this time I walked over to the front counter to pay my bill. The tender handed me the receipt at which time I was surprised to see that a tip had already beed added in the cashier own writing for 15% of the bill even though my party only contained myself and one other (total of 2). Surprised I asked why she did this at which time she presented me to the large sign on the booth stating the price of the buffet with the statement " 15% gratuity added to all parties of six or more" BUT NOW where once the text "of six or more" was written when we entered the establishment, NOW there was a business card essentially BLOCKING the "six of more portion" essentially making the sign now read "15% gratuity added to all parties". Essentially a very shady very childish and immature and very immoral bait and switch to make more money. I tried to argue with no avail and the tip they added was only about 7 dollars, but more than anything it is the principal and shady business ethic that I wish to make known.Desired Settlement: It would be wonderful to receive an apology and a full refund for the meal and forced tip from the restaurant, perhaps as a act of good public relations and ownership of mistake. In this case I would more than likely return to this place as I actually enjoyed the food very much. However I don't really expect this. A refund of the tip, a measily $6.12 would in my opinion be the ethical thing to do, but regardless if actually revved this, I would probably never return just because of the negative experience overall. However in all actuality I don't really expect any refund or outcome but rather would like this shady business practice be known, that the business be aware of how this shady practice TURNS CUSTOMERS AWAY instead of bringing them in, or at the very least, shame the establishment for the practice.

Dear Mr. [redacted], from what I have observed, you had to have come in before our dinner

buffet had began. The price on that sign does read $10.95 and 15% gratuity will be added to all

parties of 6 or more. During our Entertainment hours from 6pm, we do add 15% gratuity on all

checks. As for the business card being in front of the sign, that could have been another

customer, it's just something that I can't explain. We have been in business for 25 years and

have never tried to do any sort of shady business as you refer to us. I can assure you that we

are not a shady business. What baffles me is why you failed inform the waitress of your issue

beforehand. I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you. As for the disputed

amount, I am willing to give back the $6.12 paid for the gratuity. Do the waitresses not deserve

anything in return for service? We appreciate you dining with us, and hopefully we will see you

again.
