BEWARE! They take your PII to return an item and sales staff are rude
5/1/2022 - Zumiez in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Maryland. Even with a receipt and the credit card to which the sale was charged, I was required to provide my driver's license (with my address, birth date, license #), email, and phone number for entry into their system. The saleswoman had no reason other than saying, it's required - even though NOTHING on the receipt indicated I would be required to give all my personal information, including my driver's license, to return an item when I have the receipt and credit card. The receipt only indicates that I must have the receipt. When I asked them how my personal information from my driver's license was protected in their POS, she just laughed and kept going. When I was almost out of the store, and not realizing I was with someone else, they started laughing at me in front of the other customers, after which the person I was with yelled at them.

The gift cards in question were not purchased from Zumiez and are unable to be validatedThe customer's complaint is with the website they purchased the cards from, which has no affiliation with Zumiez and no authorization to sell our gift cards

I have contacted the customer at the phone number provided and left a message with my contact information. I have not heard back from him at this time. The customer may call customer care at [redacted] and they will be able to provide a gift card to a mailing address he provides.

Zumiez located in Schaumburg at woodfield mall has the most unprofessional managers and sales reps. One by the name of ilene. I have complained numerous times and nothing has been done. I will take to higher chains if need be.

Review: I have been a customer of Z for several years. I have bought bad products with crappy quality all the time. The store is over priced, has a very small selection and is stingy with refunds or exchanges. I have bought cracked decks for my skateboard, wheels that wore down too easily, and factory defective items. Zumiez recd a complaint on July 13, 2015 and store manager JORDAN told my mom to come in to the store and they would most likely do a refund. We went to the store and my mom waited in the car and Zumiez jerked me around again! They lied by telling me they would exchange my wheels, which actually melted to the road. Zumiez wasted my time, money, and lies to customers to avoid refunds.Desired Settlement: For Zumiez employees to be honest, not sell shoddy products, not sell defective items, and to give refunds or credit when it is deserved to its loyal customers. I paid $60 for the wheels which lasted less than 30 days.

Review: I need to file a complaint against a disgruntled employee at Zumiez, He is the manager at the [redacted] store located in [redacted] CA. I was in the store about two days ago. I returned two joggers and asked for the receipt back. The clerk said he coul dnot return the receipt. Even though there were other puchases on it. I asked the Manager and explained to him that this did not make sense. What if there were other items on the receipt that I needed to return. Or what if I wanted to keep the receipt for my records. He started arguing with me and was confrontational. He was on the extreme defensive over a small issue. He was totally out of line and blew the whole thing out of proportion. The Manager has major anger issues. He actually became mad at me. I would not pacify him he decided to call security. Mainly to get back at me. He came up to me and said he would not do the return that I could just take the receipt and the products and leave. But the return had already been done so it made him look even less competent.Security never came. I was with my 13 year old son. I am a 55 year old, small woman. There was never a need for security to be called. This "manager" over reacted. He handled it so poorly that I vow never to return to this store again.I left the store disgusted with the whole situation. I could not believe what had happened. But I forgot about it. Then tonight. I am having dinner at a restaurant. The same guy comes to my table. Gets 1 foot from my face. He calls me names. Out of the blue. This Zumiez Manager came up to me and started cussing me out! It was unbelievable. He said horrilbe things. The people in the restaurant just turned around and stared in shock. then he left because it was a public place. Why is this person representing Zumiez? He almost attacked me at a restaurant. He called security on me when I was just trying to explain to him that the store policy did not make sense. I was never a threat to anyone at ZumiezDesired Settlement: I want to talk to the Manager that was on vacation about this horrible ordeal. I also want to talk to the district manager of Zumiez. I want to know why this horrible customer service it tolerated. Charges should be filed against this person. He is unstable. Has major anger issues. The way a simple return was handled was ludicrous. The Zumiez Manager attacked me!

Review: I went to buy shoes. There was a sign with all the shoes on the wall that said buy one pair and get 50 percent off. When I asked for a size 8 or 8-1/2 for my sons I was told they have none that size and haven't ordered that size on a long time. The sales associate told me he could order on line for me and we would get free shipping. I asked my 3 sons to pick out shoes to be ordered and then the sales Rep told me the 50 percent off shoes are in the back of the store. He told me you buy one of these shoes but I have to get one of the shoes in the rear of the store to get the discount. It said nothing about this on the sign and I told him it was very deceiving. I have 5 boys and I buy a lot of shoes and clothing. I told the sales rep I would not come back to Zumiez and said that was just wrong to advertise like that. He agreed and let me go.Desired Settlement: I think Zumiez and other companies that do this should be reported. This is very deceiving.

Review: They failed to have a product they promoted online, that I purchased. It was a buy two sales items and get a discount. The total order without taxes and shipping was $99.98 then minus the $20.00 discount it was $79.98 (this excluding taxes and shipping). They only refunded me for $15.63. The shoes alone were $39.99. They failed to provide the product they promoted online and are penalizing me for their error. The total I believe I should be reimbursed for their error is $39.99. If you divide the total with the discount on both shoes (the 79.98) by two it comes out to be $39.99. I think that's a fair reimbursement for their item they charged me for and didn't have. Also I have a problem with this because they still have that product up on their website in the same size, that they told me they didn't have. You would think they would update their website according to their actual inventory.Desired Settlement: A refund of $39.99. That's a fair value considering they didn't have to the product they promoted online.

Review: The company offered free shipping for any purchases made online. I had made two purchases previously and was very satisfied. However, on the third purchase, I noticed I was charged for shipping. I contacted the customers service immediately at [redacted].[redacted] at [redacted] explained that they do not grant free shipping for international orders. I wrote her back explaining that APO AP is not considered international mail and that it is indeed regarded as domestic mail by U.S. postal service. In spite of my efforts to help her understand through a few email exchanges, she still refused to give me the refund. I believe all the military service members and their families and the civilian workers that provide services for the military who fight for the freedoms this company enjoys deserve a break and the same advantage that people in the States enjoy especially when the company doesn't even have to pay for the overseas shipment. Why do they refuse to offer us free shipping when all APO mail is charged at domestic rate? It simply does not make sense.Desired Settlement: I'd like to receive a refund for $7.95 and see that all military service members, their families, and DOD civilians who are authorized to use APO address will be able to enjoy the same special offers that the company gives to people in the States.
