Think twice before doing business with this companyI contacted this agency to obtain an annual insurance quote on our vehiclesI did "not" have to change companies, I did so because I wasn't happy with the customer service at my previous insurance company who had good rates in spite of the poor customer service
While talking with the agent we spoke of an annual policy and insurance, we never spoke of a semi-annual policy, nor have I ever heard of a semi-annual policyHe never mentioned the word semi-annual to me When I was quoted a rate from the agent and this agency I believed it to be for one year because that was all we discussedI found out approximately one week ago that they sold me a semi-annual policy instead of an annual policy at a much higher rate (more than double) what I was paying at the previous insurance companyWhen I called the issue to the CEOs attention, and to their office manager's attention; my complaint fell on deaf ears
I admit that I let the paperwork get past me with the semi-annual date; but I was going through a very difficult period in my life and had just heard that my brother was dying of cancerI relied on the information I had received verbally from that agent and had no reason to mistrust the agent at that time alsoNow, six months later this agency is refusing to see my side of situationWhy on earth would I purchase a policy of insurance that was more than double what my previous insurance rates were? Simply because the policy was misrepresented by the agent and he was able to get that by me during a difficult time in my lifeThat doesn't make it right or ethical, and it is irresponsible, greedy and there is no integrity with this agency to allow that to standThat is why I am complaining
Do not do business with this company, you will end up spending more money than you need to, and they have no integrity or regard for the consumers who they do business withThey pulled a good one over on me during a difficult time in my life! I admit I was a fool in doing business with themDon't make the same mistake that I did!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in referen?Thursday, ?May ?19, ?2016Dear Mr***,
Your response is unacceptablePossibly, a bit more supervision of your agents would be in orderAnd, possibly a bit more ethical behavior and clear communication by your agents is in order, as well as by your agency. This is the first that I have heard that your agency does not write annual policies for insurance.I never discussed a semi-annual billing with your agent, and he never mentioned that your company only writes six month policiesYour agent "never" mentioned or wrote to me that the premiums on the insurance would be for six months rather than one yearAnd, he lead me to believe that the premiums he was quoting was for one year, and that they matched what I was already payingI do not believe that there is any correspondence or emails indicating that I was being quoted a semi-annual billing for the insuranceI have copies of all of my emails with the agent and there isn't anything in them where he stated that the premiums would be for six months rather than one yearYou may have the DocuSign where I overlooked the dates which is easy to do using that program especially for seniors. Your agent was provided a copy of our existing policy which showed the "yearly" premiums that were less than half of what I was charged by your company for six monthsOur only conversations were about yearly premiumsThis is a bait and switch situationAnd, the agent clearly misrepresented the insurance premium to meI would have moved on to another company had I been told during our phone conversations and emails that the premiums were twice as high as what I was already paying, or that they were semi-annual premiumsI may have been going through a time a grief but I certainly was not crazy or so distraught that I would pay double the premium for car insuranceHad I been made aware that was what I was quoted by your agent, I would have moved on to another company for a quote! And, I recently cancelled insurance with your agency when I realized what had taken placeI found insurance for less than half of what your company charged me for six months. It does not make sense that on a fixed income that I would choose to pay double for my automobile insuranceDoes that make sense to you? Who would do that under any circumstances? I thought my premiums were paid for the full yearAs I said in my letter to you previuosly, your agent misrepresented the policy and the automobile insurance premiumsAnd, he was able to get away with that due to the difficult circumstances I was experiencing at the time but that does not make any of this right or ethicalI don't hear you taking "any" responsibility for that at allI made the mistake of not paying enough attention to the dates, but that doesn't make all of this rightI was shocked when I realized this month that I was paying double for the insuranceWhat your agent did was wrong! And, you sounds like you foster an environment of misrepresentation and unethical behavior within your organization as well as by your agents. I cannot force you to see the light and the reality of this situationI cannot force you to do the right thing as a leader of your agencyYour business choices reflect closely on your own ethics, integrity and responsibility as well as on your agencyI cannot force you to see how wrong the stance you are taking isI wouldn't treat consumers this way, and I would sure try to work something out that is agreeable and acceptable to that consumerYou are not doing the right thingYou are doing the wrong thing by fostering an environment of misrepresentation, and decreased ethics, as well as lost integrity and responsibility in dealing with your consumers. I hope many in the public will read this letter and think twice about doing business with your agencyYour agency and agents are not trustworthy or reliableBest of luck with that attitude and behavior.
complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowRegards,

Hi ***,
I am sorry that you feel this way
We have been in business for many years and our culture was always customer service oriented, that’s how we started the business, how we train our employees and what made us grow to where we are nowWe are a very serious Insurance Agency and I am actually disappointed that you left us with a different impression
Like we previously said, the application that was sent to be signed had the policy period on it, we only issue policies after we have the signed application since by signing the application the client is stating that everything in there is correctAfter that, ID cards were also sent to you and they also had the dates on itClients switch from one insurance company to the other all the time and price it is not the only factor that they look for
It is out of our control that you have overlooked an important document such an application and the documents that followed after
Please feel free to call me or come to my office at any time so we can talk and I can introduce you to my team and show you how we operate
We wish you all the best

Hi [redacted],

rgb(31, 73, 125); font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">
I am so sorry to hear about your brother and I can only imagine the pain and sorrow you had to go through.

I am also sorry about the miscommunication with [redacted]. All of our correspondence with clients are followed up with an email and we never proceed with the policy until we have a signed application on file. I have checked your file and you received multiple communications from our office stating the policy was a 6 month policy and your also signed an app stating the same. As a matter of fact, Mercury does not offer any term different than 6 month so I am not sure how this happened but I also understand you were going through a very tumultuous period in your life and you may have overlooked the multiple communication by mail and email stating 6 month premium.

I am very sorry but I cannot help you any further in this matter. I had my legal team look at your letter and file and was advised that there is absolutely nothing we can do.

I do wish the best in your life and hope you find a policy and broke that meets your needs.

Sincerely,

[redacted]
