C & B Motors Reviews (44)

On approximately 04/23/2014, I went to C & B Motors and decided that I was interested in a black 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. I test drove the truck and thought that it was going to be a good deal. I advised Danny Lucas of the items that were wrong with the truck that I wanted fixed before I purchased it and he agreed. One of the items that I questioned was the dashboard. I noticed that the entire dashboard had been replaced, including the odometer. Danny advised me that the truck only had 126,000 miles on it but the odometer read 162,000 miles because the dashboard was changed out due to all the gauges of the original dashboard malfunctioning. He advised me that everything would be taken care of. I told Danny that I would return on 05/03/2014 to buy the truck and take it home.
On 05/03/2014, I went to C & B Motors and paid for the truck and then talked to Danny Lucas’s son, Anthony Lucas about the warranty. I decided to pay for a 6 month warranty that would cost $472.00. I decided to pay for the truck itself in cash from a line of credit and the taxes and warranty on my credit card. Everything seemed okay.
Approximately 3 months later, I noticed that my 4-wheel-drive was not working so I called the warranty company to file a claim to get it repaired. According to the warranty company, AUL, they received my vehicle and warranty information but it was never paid for by the dealer. I called C & B Motors back and got Danny on the line and told him what was wrong. He told me it was a mistake and that he would take care of it.
After not hearing from Danny for 2 weeks, I called him back. Apparently, AUL is denying the claim because according to their files, when the warranty information was submitted to them, C & B Motors put 126,000 miles down as the vehicle mileage when purchased and since the dashboard now says 162,000 miles the warranty has expired. They advised me that if C & B Motors could show some paperwork proving the change of mileage then they would honor the warranty. Danny then told me that C & B Motors doesn’t have that paperwork and they would find me another warranty company. After another 3 to 4 weeks passed and numerous phone calls to C & B Motors, Danny finally told me that they found a warranty company called Alpha Warranty Services that would cover me. He told me that all I had to do was come in and sign the paperwork, give it about 2 business days to process the information and then call Alpha to file my claim.
I called Alpha to file my claim 2 days later and was asked by the operator from Alpha when I bought the truck. I told them that I bought it on 05/03/2014. They then told me that the 6-month warranty would now be expired if it was bought on 05/03/2014. The paperwork filed to Alpha states that the purchase date was 11/05/2014 and they would not honor the warranty because of the mileage and purchase date discrepancies.
At this point I had enough and decided to call Danny back and tell him that I wanted my money that I paid for the warranty back. He told me to come to C & B Motors and they will fix the truck themselves. I said that I wasn’t going to do that because I no longer trusted them for trying to defraud the warranty company and I want my money back. He said that I don’t get to make demands from him and he is not giving me a refund. I then told him that I would see him in court.

Review: This dealer sold me a vehicle without first inspecting all issues.. My car wouldn't start and brakes are faulty.. They kept my car for a week and said that my starter was replaced only for me to end up stuck all the way in west goshen only to get towed back home.. I called the company and told them what happened and told them I talked to the mechanic and he told me that he never replaced the starter. The owner is claiming that it was done when it wasn't... I was told to call back and didn't get a response until this day..Desired Settlement: I just want the money back for the starter and labor

Business

Response:

To whom it may concern:On June 27,2014, [redacted] placed a bid on a 2006 [redacted] on our [redacted] site. 8 hours after winning the bid, [redacted] was contacted through our email ([redacted]) to let him know that we were canceling the transaction due to issues that we were having with the car. Because of issues our mechanic found with the transmission, we felt our obligation to cancel the entire transaction and refund the buyer his money. We did not feel it would be safe to drive this vehicle from [redacted] to Ohio. We contacted the buyer immediately after to avoid any issues. Usually the buyer will contact our office to see where we are located, travel arrangements to and from the airport, but nothing was ever communicated because we had canceled in a timely fashion. Monies were refunded. Safety comes first with this issue and communication with any of our cars. We feel we provided the best service to our customer and he is taking advantage. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or further concerns.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

simply not true , the seller just decided to not sell it to the highest bidder because the bid was not high enough . classic for [redacted] sellers to do this .
