J.G. Wentworth Reviews (138)

It is my understanding that we have resolved all outstanding issues with this customer.  If I am incorrect please advise.

November 19, 2015Dear [redacted]:
This letter is in response to your correspondence received in our office on November 10, 2015, regarding the above-referenced loan.We believe the telephone interaction you reference occurred on August 10, 2015, when you spoke with a...

representative from our Customer Service Department. We reviewed this telephone interaction and found that the discussion was regarding principle curtailment payments and the escrow account. A request for the payment address was not mentioned during this interaction. We received email communication from you on October 13, 2015, wherein you stated that the October installment was submitted on October 2, 2015 but not reflecting on your loan account. We requested proof of the payment, the front and back copy of a reconciled check or a bank transmittal summary, be forwarded to our office for further research as there was no record of receipt. On October 16, 2015 you contacted our office and informed a representative from our Customer Service Department that the payment was mailed to [redacted]’s corporate office, via check number [redacted] in the amount of $2,243.86 and that the check was reconciled on October 13, 2015. The same day, a one- time draft was initiated on our website in the amount of $2,243.86 that was applied to the loan account to satisfy the October 2015 installment.
On October 23, 2015 we received a copy of the reconciled check in our office and began the process of applying the funds to your loan account.
Our records reflect that on November 2, 2015, you contacted our office and spoke with a Supervisor in our Customer Service Department regarding the payment. The Supervisor advised that you would incur no late charges or adverse credit reporting as a result of the delay. We regret that you did not receive follow-up contact in a timely manner, as promised.
On November 5, 2015, funds in the amount of $2,243.86 were applied to the loan account to satisfy the November 2015 installment. As of the date of this correspondence, the loan account is current. There have been no late charges assessed to the loan account and no adverse credit reporting.
To avoid future delay in payment, we request that you update your web bill payment service to reflect the correct payment address of P.O. Box [redacted], Newark, NJ [redacted].We are unable to accommodate your request for compensation. Enclosed is a copy of your payment history which reflects the mentioned loan account activity.
On behalf of J.G. Wentworth, I apologize for any confusion you may have experienced. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention and affording us the opportunity to address them. Should you have questions with regard to this matter, please contact me at ###-###-####.

We are investigating this matter right now and will work directly with the individual to resolve.

Fortunately for me, I am perfectly aware of what my needs are. I called for a quote and right away was able to see that it was not in my best interest. Fine! There's nothing wrong with getting the quote to have an informed decision. If it's not an agreeable situation, no need to continue. However, these people are not interested in what is best for you. They continued to try to persuade me (a grave waste of effort on their behalf) and I continued to say "no, this is really not a good service for me I have already decided it does not fit my needs". This went on for awhile and I had to continue arguing that it was just not right for me. The conversation escalated until I got angry and had to be very firm. I said "Now I want you to now delete my information". After all, the company is given financial information and other personal information during the quoting process. These agents are trained by the company to be truly relentless though , he actually continued to try and tell me that I need their service even though I clearly do not. He was not even nice about it though! Arguing and being very pushy and not friendly. I said again, please delete my information and finally hung up. I received a call from him again a few hours later. Instead of being upset right away over the fact that my information had not been deleted I decided to hear him out as it seemed he was calling to apologize. But then he started into the sales pitch again and giving me numbers. Well, I gave him another chance with his numbers since he said he had some different types to consider (even though it was not within the type of plan I was even searching for, I figured it wouldn't hurt to just hear the figures). They were immediately of no interest to me however, not even close, at which point I realized there is absolutely nothing this company can do for me. When I said no thank you, this just isn't going to be a good match for my needs I was met with even more resistance and more argumentative response. Trying to tell me that I do need the service which is absurd. "I called to get a quote, I got it and I do not want the service. What more is there to explain? Once again, please delete my information as I wanted you to do the last time. This is my personal information and I do not want it to be used my your company anymore". Well the following day I got another call, from a "manager" to follow up. I actually thought he was calling to apologize. I explained to him that I had received various number quotes and I was simply not interested in any of them and did not want to use this service not a big deal. I was met with more absurd arguing and even condescension. I said "Are you serious?" Fortunately for me I am not an it and am able to judge for myself whether something is good for me or not. They just would not let up. No respect shown whatsoever, even if the numbers were agreeable I would never want to give these rude people any money. I said "again, please delete my information. I am not interested" And he still argued as if I could not decide for myself. I eventually got extremely firm and very angrily said "you will stop calling and delete my information now I am truly not interested!!!" And his response? "It's not that serious". So patronizing. Very rude. These people obviously are trying to get your money. However, they will stop at nothing! Who taught them that being rude helps get customers? I am amazed at what poor skills they have to be so rude to people they want something from! Give people the quote and allow them to decide, anything beyond that has the whiff of con artistry. I am so glad the numbers did not suit my needs anyway since they do not deserve my business. Pressure salesmen to the extreme. I was also lied to before being given the quote about what hope of plans were available . They really are slimey in approach. I was expected more professionalism but they act desperate and disrespectful. I will never even consider them in the future due to their never-ending pushiness and harassment.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
What they are stating took place and the options given to me are not consistent with what I was told over the phone. I was never told to place a stop payment on my check to avoid delinquency. They told me that the first ninety day of my transfer they would not consider the payment late or delinquent. Furthermore they state that my loan was transferred in July, I can show a statement from August showing a payment due to [redacted] mortgage for September's payment not JG Wentworth! I have a copie of this statement if anyone cares to see it. That is the reason I sent to [redacted] on 8/28 and then find out they didn't accept it. I believe JG will stand by what they're writing but if they really had ethics they would pull those calls to listen to what I was told.
