K & S Plumbing Services Reviews (%countItem)

I am pleased by the great customer service everyone with K&S Plumbing has exemplified. They have kept my husband and I informed and assured of the progress of completing our plumbing problem. I am very impressed with the follow up calls about the expected arrival time(s) and if they were running behind the scheduled times. Great company.

Thank you! We're happy to hear that they resolved your plumbing issue quickly and efficiently. Thank you for your confidence in these two technicians.

Robert was professional and got the job done efficiently. I appreciated his concern over the potential mess that this clean out job could have left and his efforts to avoid that.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Dec 05, 2019

Thank you for your kind review. Robert is a one-of-a-kind technician. He is always thorough and courteous whenever he enters a home.

K and S Plumbing was contracted by AHS to come and correct a slow drain in my bathroom. The plumber caused a complete stoppage.
The plumber came out and reviewed my slow drain. He ran an auger through the drain and cause a complete stoppage and called the issue in to those whom he reported to. They proposed a charge of over 500 dollars to drain from the roof. However, the plumber left the facilities worst than before he came.

Desired Outcome

They should not have left my bathroom worse than when they came. I need to speak to the owner and find some type of resolution other than than very high costs to run through the roof.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Dec 17, 2019

I personally contacted the customer on 12/2 and 12/3. This matter has been taken care of. The homeowner decided not to move forward with the clean out installation. We discussed the status of this sink blockage and it has been resolved. Not sure why the activity states that we had not responded when both communications were documented in the Revdex.com complaint portal.

Customer Response • Dec 17, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I called the person to have the cleanout installed. After talking to the person that did the financing, I realized that I had several cleanout and the plumber just did not check.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Dec 18, 2019

Mr. Strother, I followed up with the technician and financing officer regarding the location of your cleanout. You stated that it was located near the street. This is most likely a manhole. If you would like a second technician to visit your home to confirm location, please give the office a call and ask for Missy or Bailey.

Customer Response • Dec 19, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Please send the technician. I did not say that the technician was near the street. It is in my driveway about 3 feet from my garage doors.

Outstanding friendly informative service. Their agents performed while explaining their steps and answering my questions. I will definitely call them for any future repairs.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Dec 02, 2019

Thank you for your kind praise. We appreciate your review. Please give us a call if you should need us for future services!

K&S was contacted Tues. by AHS Ins. They didn't show until Friday. After 5 mins they said they would be back & never returned.
On Tuesday, Nov. 19 American Home Shield (AHS) reached out to K&S plumbing. The worker/rep. came out on Friday and within 5mins assessed the issue and simply told us "they would return later." Hours passed and we never heard anything else. We tried calling the plumber and we also spoke with AHS on multiple occasions unsucessfully able to get the call active via three way.
Ultimately, we were attempting to reach K&S for a diagnosis and future appointment to complete the job and to stop the flooding in our home. Neither we or AHS and were able to reach K&S on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. On today, Nov. 25, we were told by K&S that our flooding problem could not be addressed until the 27th. They were paid for coming out, and AHS said they escalated the issue since it has been a week from the date we initially reported having issues.
The customer service representative at K&S was very inattentive, uninformed, and unprofessional. She said that she would give me a call back within a couple of hours and did not. Once I called her back (***), she said that she was unable to reach AHS and that there was nothing she could do.
In the meantime, my other insurance company sent in a water restoration company to dry the flooded areas. K&S's unprofessionalism and extreme tardiness is causing further issues, because some flooding is still occurring.

Furthermore, if they were unable to fix the issue, K&S should relay this to AHS so that we could have someone else to come out and fix the issue within a timely manner. No one, wants to be in a home with flooding issues for over a week, and just a day before the holidays.

I am concerned that they are giving me and my family the run around because they've already been paid. In the meantime, we're being told there is nothing anyone can do to expedite or correct the problem as quickly as possible.

Desired Outcome

Because so much time was lost, I would like for K&S to fix the problem today or on tomorrow. If their delay has caused any additional water damage after my other insurance company USAA has come in to correct the situation, K&S should be responsible for any costs associated with their error.

11/25/19 appointment: Discovered Mr. and Mrs. actually had a septic tank (they have been paying sewer for the last 3yrs they have lived there). Septic tank was full which was causing their laundry floor drain to back up. Floor drain is also missing p-trap that is a preventative in back-up type issues.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Nov 25, 2019

Our Quality Control Manager had a thorough conversation with Ms. about her plumbing and scheduling issues. Homeowner accepted Friday, November 22, 2019 appointment time. After technician's initial diagnosis, AHS was contacted for repair authorization number. AHS phone portal was down on 11/22/19. A recall work order was submitted by homeowner. This appointment was scheduled for 11/27/19. Authorization for repairs was received on 11/25/19. Our Quality Control Manager ensured Ms. that if we had any cancellations, she would be our first call. Call cancellation was received, and Ms. was rescheduled for 12-5pm on 11/25/19.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Nov 27, 2019

11/27/19: Homeowner called in stating septic tank has been cleared (K&S does not clear septic tanks). We have them scheduled on 11/27/19 to repair laundry floor drain.

Chris, our repair man, was very polite and professional. He explained everything he was doing and what he had found. Very thorough. The company was very quick to respond and helpful.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Nov 15, 2019

Ms., thank you for your kind words. Chris is a hard working man and we are lucky to have him as one of our technicians. Thank you for your business and we hope to be of service to you again if other plumbing issues should arise.

They showed up on time and did a professional and efficient job. He even educate us on ways to better manage our plumbing in the future. We couldn't be happier.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Nov 14, 2019

Thank you for letting us handle your plumbing issue. Our technicians are very knowledgeable in the field and I'm happy to hear that he offered plumbing maintenance tips on site!

I've used K&S plumbing several times in the past 3 years. They are prompt, efficient, friendly and always fix the problem the first time. In addition to being pros at their trade, I always receive a call when they are 20 to 30 minutes away and they are ALWAYS on time. The plumbers sent are very respectful and also mindful of tracking anything in your house. I would highly recommend them!

Bad customer service (Lack of call back service updates) and bad service call practices (Job not completed)
I had leaking faucets and My home insurance company AHS assigned K&S Plumbing to fix the issues. First tech showed up on 9 July 2019. He came into the home looked at the leaking faucets and checked the water pressure and said he could not fix the issue until a pressure reduction valve (PRV) was installed and he would order the parts for the valve and the sinks but he could do anything until he got the parts. After three days and I never received a phone call from AHS or K&S plumbing, I call AHS and they told me that the PRV value was not covered by the AHS plan and it would cost $575.00 out of pocket. Once a agreed to that price the second tech came to the house on 15 July and had no idea what he was suppose to be doing and did not have the parts to fix anything. He said he did not know he was to install a PRV value and did not have the time on his six call schedule to do that type of job it would take to long. He called the service desk and explained again the issues and they rescheduled yet again for the coming saturday (20 July) to install the PRV valve and fix the leaking faucets. He said he would order the part and He himself would return to fix everything, but never looked at the faucets to see what needed to be ordered. On 20 July he was late arriving, but had the part PRV valve to install. Once that part was installed, he came in to repair the faucets and realized he did not have the parts to repair them. Said he would have to order the parts for all three faucets and once they were delivered to the house he would return to complete the job. As of 29 July 2019 I still have leaking faucets. I called the AHS today for an update and according to them there has been no parts requested through K&S plumbing. I called K&S plumbing and spoke to Kristy and was put on hold until the phone disconnected, I called back and no one answered the phone so I left a message to receive a call back. I never got a return call. This has happened more than once and there is no communication between customer and business. Poor customer service.

Desired Outcome

I would like a call from the business with an update without being placed on hold and hung up on and the job that I paid for to be completed quickly.

K&S plumbing was dispatched to come fix a leak from my Home warranty company. It has been over a month and the job isn't completed.
K&S plumbing was dispatched to come repair a leak back on 3/23/19. Technician initially thought it was coming from loose pipes from under the sink. He told me to call him back if it didn't fix the issue, so I called him the next day because the leak continued. He thought it was coming from the toilet so he took off the toilet. He told me that he needed authorization from my home warranty company to finish the job. Well I contacted my home warranty company several times and they said that they were waiting on the report from his diagnosis. I spoke with my home warranty company on 5/1/19 and they contacted K&S Plumbing and spoke with the receptionist. The receptionist told my home warranty company that my floor needed to be repaired before the technician could finish the job. I currently still have a leak coming from upstairs.

Desired Outcome

I want K&S to finish the job. I want my toilet placed back on the ground. I need a detailed report of what they think needs to be fixed with the floor. At this point I do not want to use K&S for any servicing that I may need. If there is any damage due to the leak not being repaired in a timely manner, I want K&S Plumbing to take responsibility and fix the issue.

RE: Case # ***To whom it may concern, we have reviewed your complaint. We apologize for our lack of service on your job. K&S sent out a technician to replace my faucet & in the process of replacing the faucet he did damage to my sink leaving gap between the sink & faucet
American Home Shield sent K&S Plumbing out because I had an issue with my faucet. After K&S determined the faucet needed replacement we went through the process of getting it submitted to AHS. After AHS approved the replacement of my faucet there was an appointment set up to come out and replace the faucet. They originally set the appointment to replace the faucet on March 14th from 8am-12noon. (Keep in mind I work Monday through Friday so I have to leave my job or make arrangements for these appointments). On 3/14 I received a call from K&S stating my technician had a family emergency and they would have to reschedule my appointment. I understood that there was a family emergency and was understanding when they had to reschedule but by now I had been without the use of my faucet for a week. On Tuesday I got home and discovered a package at my door. After opening the box interesting enough it was my replacement faucet. Now I hope there really was a family emergency the technician had to attend to but seeing that the replacement did not arrive until Tuesday the day after my scheduled appointment it would seem to coincidental. Nevertheless the technician showed up on Wednesday. The replacement faucet was very basic and different from the one I originally had. In addition they did not replace the sprayer that I had. I also have to mention I was charged $150 that K&S stated was not covered by AHS for piping. I have yet to be given a statement/receipt for that work nor have I noticed any piping changes under my sink. Back to the basic faucet that appeared to be more like a bathroom sink. I called K&S and asked why it was not replaced with the same type of faucet that I originally had and was told by *** that AHS would only cover a basic faucet. Doing the next best thing I pulled up my contract and per my contract it states I am to get the equivalent of what I had or better. I contacted AHS in regards to the situation. Needless to say I received a call from K&S a short time late stating someone would be out on March 22nd to replace the faucet to the one equivalent to the one I had. The technician did arrive and he did replace the faucet and my sprayer to be exact. However my sink was damaged in the process. In my hurry to get back to work I did not access the faucet right away. When I returned home I saw there was damage to my sink and there was a large gap between my sink and the faucet that was replaced. There was no way the technician did not see this nor did he report that he had damaged by sink. I called K&S on the following business day Monday March 25th. I emailed the pictures they requested on the same day 3/25. I received a follow up email on 3/26 for a before damage picture because the original one I sent was not received. I sent that over on the afternoon of 3/26. I followed up with a phone call on 3/27 and was assured someone would be calling me. Since 3/27 I have reached out to K&S several times only to be told the supervisor was in the field and he was going to call me or would let them know what to do. Today I notified AHS regarding the problem and lack of response from K&S and the too sent an email. I also followed up this morning and was told the owner, *** would be in this afternoon and would personally see that he gives me a call. At this point I am very eager to speak to the owner. This is not good business practice. If you have a supervisor who can not even offer a follow up call and at least say they are working to resolve the issue then I am not sure if he is the best person for the job. I am not happy with the lack of response and feel like I have been blown off. I called again on 4/2 and was promised that the owner would be calling me and yet here it is on 4/3 nearly two weeks from the date of damages and I have yet to hear from a supervisor or owner to K&S Plumbing.

Desired Outcome

To fix/replace damaged sink

K & S Plumbing Services Response • May 02, 2019

In reviewing the *** case, I found that we have since been back out on April 30, 2019 to replace the kitchen sink at no cost to the customer. I hope this helps resolve this matter. Additionally, I tried to make comments on the link as we discussed via phone and did not see a place to make comments. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do.

Customer Response • May 02, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
K&S did come out to replace my sink on Tuesday 4/30 after I received the sink to my home and had to call them to see if they were sending a technician to replace the sink. I am grateful that the sink has been replaced however I have yet to receive the invoice for the $150.00 I was charged for a replacement pipe that I have yet to see what was replaced. My check was written in March but was recently cashed on last week. I called to have someone send pictures of the work that was done but have yet received that information. I spoke with *** last week regarding this and she promised a supervisor would call but just like the owner never call to discuss replacing the sink the supervisor has yet to call me. It is my understanding that technician who did the damage has since been let go because of other damage that was caused. Something as simple as replacing a damaged sink and sending pictures and an invoice for work claim to have been done should be a simple fix but yet it has taken well over a month, many phone calls and several complaints to get to where we are now.

After reading some negative reviews here, I had some concerns about using this firm, but Homeserve recommended them. Our experience was totally positive. The two technicians that visited our home were Chris K. and Seth T. Both were total pros, knew what they were doing, and had a positive, customer service attitude. They resolved our problems with no major delays and were a pleasure to work with.

We hired them to install a hot water heater in our home. After several issues, and parts sitting in our driveway, they refused.
When the technician came out to inspect our hot water heater, he gave us a list of items we would have to pay to bring the new heater up to code. It added up to over $500. I called the city inspector and he came out and inspected our heater and looked at the list they had given us. He said we only needed one item. This item was the only item our home warranty company was covering. I called K&S back and gave them this info, the inspector's name and phone number. They explained it would now cost $100. I called back to ask if the new hot water heater would be delivered, or if the technician would bring it. They explained that it would be delivered. I called the day it was to be installed and explained that nothing had been delivered. The receptionist explained that they could not come that day because they could not get a permit. I ask yo speak to her boss and she said he would call me back. When I walked out in my driveway I found a hot water heater, a box of parts and a copper pipe sitting in the rain. I called back and they just seemed confused as to why this was a problem. I drove to their office, and when I arrived a man informed me that they would no longer be installing our hot water heater because we were "too difficult". I asked him what he was going to do about the parts in my driveway and he said we would be charged a restocking fee.

Desired Outcome

I would like the parts removed from my property and I refuse to pay any type pf fee. I would also like the $75 service fee that I was charged refunded.

K & S Plumbing Services Response • Feb 06, 2019

we did not work for this customer. this customers home warranty company dispatched us to this address to diagnose a leaking water heater. the water heater needed to be replaced and needed upgrades per the 2009 plumbing code, the water heater manufacturer, and the warranty company which totaled around 500.00 cost to the homeowner. The homeowner calls the local city inspector and goes over the list with him. he stated that only one of the items on the list were needed from a city code standpoint. the city inspector is not aware of the manufacturer requirements of the heater as stated in the installation guide of the water heater nor the requirements of the warranty company. the home owner then demanded a permit to be pulled and the installation to be inspected which is not a problem, but does delay the process and in turn cost more money. At this point we agreed to lower the price to the home owner substantially just to get this job behind us. The homeowner then starts calling our office repeatedly over the course of the day demanding that we stop what we are doing and go purchase a permit at our expense. The next morning the customer shows up at our office demanding service after we had told her that we would be purchasing a permit that day. sorry not working for someone like that. We owe this customer nothing as we charged this customer nothing. Her warranty company did charge her a service fee. we feel that if anyone is owed it is us for the time wasted on travelling to the home, diagnosing a leaking water heater, setting up a water heater delivery, having to have the water heater and parts picked back up from the residence, pay a restocking fee, and having to deal with this customer in general. we install many heaters, make many plumbing repairs, and pull many permits across the whole state and southeast. we are gladly take this customer off our service list

Customer Response • Feb 06, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is simply untrue. The company told me that a permit had to be pulled with the city for the work to be done. A discountdiscount was never offered to us. The charges for upgrades that they company said we needed were removed after the city inspector said they were unnecessary, this was where the reduction in price came about. I never called their office demanding anything other than to have material removed from my driveway so we could get our vehicle out of our garage. They delivered a hot water and all the materials to our home and left them in our driveway for a job that they could not compelet. K&S explained to us that a permit had to be pulled for the installation, and this is why we had to pay for over $500 in upgrades. This is why we called the city inspector. We would not have known to do this on our own, as we know absolutely nothing about permits or plumbing. K&S tried to overcharge us and when we refused to pay them they then tried to bully us into paying them by leaving equipment in our driveway. Now they are trying to blame us and paint us as rude customers.

plumbing Repairs on kitchen and bathroom sink
I have a home owner policy thru American home shield and the initial order was for my bathroom toilet. My second request was for my bathroom and kitchen sinks for leaks. A repairman came out and told me both was repaired. Within 3-4 days under my kitchen sink was wet again. I called American home shield and requested that they come back because the leaks were not repaired. 11/29 the same repairman came back to look at the leak and now the garbage disposal that was now clogged. I was told the leak was fixed and the garbage disposal was unclogged. I was told I would need the trap on the roof snaked. I told him I had a company I used because AHS did not cover this service. Standard Heating and Plumbing came out and immediately told me that under my sink was leaking in 2 spots and he shined the light on them both. He told me it would take less than 10.00 to repair the problem and the person that came before either did not know how to repair the leak or did not take the time to repair it. I asked him to also look at the bathroom sink and it was also leaking/not repaired. I have notified American home shield of the issue. I paid 100.00(service fees) both times the plumber came out.

Desired Outcome

Refund of 200.00(both times they came out)
