PJ Hussey manages a property we have in Phoenix. I believe PJ Hussey has unethical business practices; in particular I am speaking of their President, [redacted].
Our August statement had an unusual charge authorized/signed by [redacted] for $228 payable to PJ Hussey & Associates.
When I received this invoice, I called PJ Hussey twice asking for an explanation and resolution. I also asked twice to have [redacted] call me directly.
[redacted] never did call and emailed me a couple of weeks later on October 10, 2014 saying, "Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You are correct the charge you should be receiving each month is $3.00. I will be crediting $165.00 back to the account. You will see it as a journal entry reducing your service fees on the report."
Even the $3 a month charge has never been discussed or authorized.
The $165 credit did not appear on our September statement as [redacted] had indicated so I emailed her.
[redacted] now says she was "delayed" and the $165 credit will appear on our October report.

The add that [redacted] is referring to was for apartment [redacted]. that unit was rented by the time she contacted us. We believed that we would have another unit available as an existing resident wanted to move into a one bedroom freeing up a studio. [redacted] was fully aware of this and...

even states that in her complaint. She chose to put in an application anyway and unfortunately the resident decided not to move therefore the only unit we had available was a 1 bedroom which was out of her price range. We did nothing wrong and if we didn't incur the expense of running the app we would have been happy to refund her $35. The add that she called on is attached: http://www.[redacted]

They never call you back EVER!!! If by some small miracle you make enough noise and they actually take your call they tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone but then there is no follow through on their part to what they said they were going to do. They do not value your time, and when you get frustrated that you can't get your calls returned or even if you show up they are dismissive or rude and honestly I don't know how this company stays in business with how unprofessional they behave. It was a terrible experience and if we still rented from a landlord using this company I would move as fast as I could not to be involved with them. Don't let some of their friendly and seemingly appeasing manner deceive you it's just to keep you quiet. To be fair to them , eventually I did receive what I had been contacting them for.

[redacted], I would like to start by saying the roof was completed by a licnesed, bonded, insured roofing contractor with a 5 year warranty. The roof is a flat roof so water stays on the roofing surface longer than on a standard shingle roof. It is not uncommon for a small leak or 2 to occur when you...

do a roof of this size. The small leak was already fixed at no charge to you. Not to mention the cost of this roof was thousands of dollars less than the next bid we received.As for the money being stolen from you that is simply not true. It is customary in ** to have the property managers hold deposits you didn't ask for these up front and it may have taken a month or 2 to get them to you but you have been given the deposit funds. We had multiple conversations about getting units ready to rent and doing what is necessary to accomplish this. If you were so upset I am not sure why you didn't call me months ago to discuss this. I have asked to speak to you about these issues and you will not call me. I don't want you to be upset and I can walk you through the financial reports any day of the week to show you that you have received every dollar you are owed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,

[redacted] The management company has made a false written statement. I wasn't aware of anything, I was instructed to submit an application and pay for a background check and once processed she would get back with me.as I stated in the email [redacted] said she would contact me once it was completed with the findings. She never even attempted to contact me or even give me an update of any changes as she stated she would. I have to contact her and at that time she informed me of the tenant changes his mind.in the beginning I informed her I was only interested in the studio based on my sons limited income. She new all along the tenant had changed his mind but didn't inform me. her purpose was to try and rent me the one bedroom all along. I will continue to pursue this until my $35.00 is refunded I'm not not begging off. the company shouldn't have did the background check if the studio wasn't going to be available,, the loss will not be on me.

I have been a resident in one of your properties for almost 7 years. Any and every time I have a need you are there, fast, efficient and with a smile always. Today would be just one example of your professional work ethic. My front door warped with this extreme weather. The urgency was I could not close my door to lock and secure it.
I called the office last night, spoke to Shannon, expeditor for maintenance. This am Able the door expert went and fixed my door in less than an hour. I was thinking 2 or 3 hours minimum. He was extremely skilled in his work and I was so impressed with his skills. Wow!
Same outcome every time, work is completed and he is off to the next job and I could not wait to call the office and express my gratitude.
P J Hussey, Andrew, Shannon, Able and to all the professional and caring people with your company who continue to provide the service which means so much to me and I am sure to all your customers.

I. LOVE THIS COMPANY. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO RENT.....THEY ARE SO ON TOP OF THEIR RENTALS WITH ANY PROBLEMS THAT MAY ACURE.FAST SERVICE FROM MAINTANCE.THEY DO CHECK UPS AFTER BY PHONE CALLS. TO SEE IF VERYTHING IS FINE. I WILL BE STAYING WITH THIS COMPANY ....I GIVE IT. 5 ???????THE WORKERS ARE GREAT. HAPPY TENTANTS......MAKE HAPPY HOMES??THANK YOU ???

I bought my first commercial (7 units) property recently in Phoenix as an out-of-state investor. I interviewed several property management firms before selecting PJ Hussey. I like the extremely methodical approach they take including rent surveys, property clean-up and preparation, reporting, and owner communication. I also selected them over a much smaller firm because I felt having multiple team members who specialize in things like leasing, repairs, accounting, etc., would give them the organizational bandwidth to handle everything in parallel. So far they've exceeded my expectations and I absolutely will continue to use them for any new investments I make in their area.

Drea was very helpful and professional. The company is amazing!
