RE: Case#[redacted] * [redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted],

We are in receipt of your letter dated May 16, 2014 relaying a complaint from Ms. [redacted]. We removed Ms....

[redacted]’s address of [redacted] from our list effective May 27, 2014. It takes approximately five to six weeks for this process to become fully effective as Valassis pre-prints its mailing labels in advance. Ms. [redacted]’s removal status will remain in effect for a period of five years and she will have to contact us again by May 26, 2019 if she wishes to renew her address removal for an additional five years.

If after the six week period Ms. [redacted] still receives our package it is a Private Carrier Delivery issue and we ask that Ms. [redacted] contact us so we can work with the PCD Company to ensure she does not receive any more. The PCD company should only deliver to consumers that we have produced an address label for and as of July 12th Valassis will no longer be producing one for the address listed above. Also, there are many companies other than Valassis that send out advertising circulars and catalogues for which we have no control over.

If the consumer has any additional questions they may feel free to contact me Toll-free at ###-###-#### and select option #3. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I am grateful for your intercession. I did not receive a copy this week, so it appears that the 5-6 weeks was accurate. However, these mailings do NOT have labels as stated. The address is printed directly onto the cover address area, probably from a digital file. This shouldn't take 5-6 weeks.
Thank you, again. I am so happy not to have to deal with bulky trash in my mailbox.
Regards,
[redacted]

RE: Case# [redacted] - Mr. [redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted]
We are in receipt of your letter dated September 4,2014 asking for additional information about our response to the complaint from Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted]’ response indicates he attempted to remove himself from our mailing list on June 11,2014. However, the removal request reached my department on July 7,2014 and we cannot determine why Mr. [redacted]’ original request may not have been handled at the time it was made. Valassis is a large organization and there can be occasions where a request does not reach the proper department, or the address could have been input improperly, etc. Regardless, we have processed the request and as of the writing of this letter, Mr. [redacted]’ address removal is in effect. Typically address removals take approximately five to six weeks to take effect as we preprint our mailing labels in advance.
As to Mr. [redacted] concern about continuing to receive our mailings, we are no longer printing a mailing address label for his address as previously stated. The Post Office is not supposed to deliver our mailing to a consumer if Valassis does not print an address for a consumer. However, since the RedPlum mailing is a saturation type piece, meaning it is intended to be delivered to most households in a particular area, we have found that on some occasions the individual Postal Carrier does not adhere to the addressing on the package and puts someone else’s in the consumer’s mailbox in error. The mailing address label for our package, per Postal regulations, must be either printed on the package itself or on a detached address label that the Postal Carrier is responsible for coupling with the package to deliver the mailing only to those we address the mailing to. Because we don’t control the Post Office, we cannot control them delivering the mail properly. Should this occur and Mr. [redacted] receives RedPlum in the future, he should contact his local Post Office and tell them that he has been removed from our mailings and he does not want to receive the package.
If the consumer has additional questions, they may feel free to contact me Toll-free at [redacted] and select option #3. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I received your letter with the response from Redplum. They are bold faced lying! As I stated before, first they changed the name and address from my name to my husbands, and now they leave the name blank or put "resident" above the address.I can provide a picture from the one that comes this week if you need it.Don't let them continue to get away with this blatant disregard for consumer requests to be removed. They plug up our mail system and create huge amounts of waste! [redacted]

As of last week I was still receiving the "RedPlum" savings offer in my mailbox that were printed with my address on them.  They were not "misdelivered" by the post office.  I would like to leave my complaint open until I stop receiving the junk mail.
Others seem to have the same issue I have been having with the company.  Attached is an article about that: http://[redacted]
