In our complaint it states we do not want this company on our property.? They respond by asking us to? set up a meeting with Larry N*** their salesman and project manager, on our? property.? ? ? We do not have any confidence in MrN***.? MrN*** did not respond to our request for setting up a meeting with my husband and the Code Enforcer as to? a time and date This was in September.? Mr.? N*** is not going to climb a ladder to inspect the roof.? ? He claimed he does not go up on a roof.? ? Setting up a meeting with MrN*** is pointless
? ? ? Mr? N***'s contractor was incapable of installing this roof correctly.? He should not have taken this? job if his contractor did not have the skill to do a competent job.? Which clearly he did not.? We are still waiting to see his certification.? As stated in the contract: certified, insured, independent contractor.? We asked to see proof of thisNo response? ? ? We never received a call to set up a delivery date as stated in the contract.? A neighbor told us people were on our property.? The contractor had started the job without informing us.? We had requested this.? No response.? ? ? The contractor did not remove the cedar shake, had sheathed over it and applied some portion of the metal roofing.? The contract states remove cedar shake.? The contractor either did not or could not read the contract.? The contractor said he would make it right.? He tried but he did not have? the skills to do so.? ? ? Everything I have seen regarding VaCarolina? Buildings Incdoes not come close to "ensuring 100% Customer Satisfaction"( as stated in their response to my complaint.)? ? ? ? There has been no inspection from the county.? I have called and talked to them.? Although we have been told several times that there was.? We were told that it passed inspection.? If they have an inspection report from the Accomack County Building Inspectors Office why have they not sent me? a copy as I requested in March.? ? ? ? ? ? We paid an independent? inspector *** *** who is certified and licensed#***.? He sent us his report and? I forwarded it to VaCarolina Buildings, Inc.? No response.? I also mailed a copy to you.? ? ? ? ? Their contractor? has been back to our property how many times?? We would not know for sure because we are never notified.? What kind of reputable company goes to a clients? property? without informing them?? ? ? ? ? Some of our concerns were sent? in a letter? in September.? There was no response.? ? ? One of the things that might ensure Customer Satisfaction would be responding to the customer.? ? ? ? As? to a conversation with MrN*** and also in the contract it states Repair bad wood at cost plus **%.? This was never done.? Now the metal has to be removed in order to work and replace it? ? ? ? Our concerns :Exterior chalk? - There should be noneTuff Rib metal manufacturers of this metal roof, JPeifer metal roof installer of years and *** ***? Licensed inspector all told us this.No closures - All three of the above confirmed the roof needs closures to prevent rain, insects, birds, etcfrom getting under the metal panels.Dents and scratches? - There are many, Tuff Rib does not warranty metal that is scratched.? This can be seen in *** ***'s picture in his reportWe now have pictures and video of thisThe osb board? is compromised and the installation was done very poorly.? ? ? ? ? I would like them to " rectify and remedy all complaints " too, as they stated in their response to the Revdex.com.? I cannot see how that? can happen without removing the roof and replacing it, using a competent installer

yes there has been problems with Mr*** roofWe are doing everything we can to correct the issuesWe have a rep coming from the metal company to look at the roof on Thursday Jan14, Mr*** is aware of thisPart of the problem is condensationI never said the vents were the wrong
ones but they should have used the smaller onesWhen Mr*** plugged a dehumidifier up in his attic, the wood dried so there fore it is leaving me to believe it is condensationThe rep from metal company will let us know for sure on Thursday

Sales person should never have told Mr*** thatIt is a condensation problemRoof is installed properlyHis homeowners as already contacted me about this matter

Mr*** is correct? His new metal roof was installed and completed on June 9th and he promptly paid the bill as per his contract terms? Mr*** also made us aware on several occasions that the dump trailer was still at his property and needed to be removed
? Unfortunately, we only have one truck that can haul that heavy trailer (especially fully loaded with roofing material), and that truck was out of town on another job for the past two weeks? The truck was returned to us yesterday evening, (6/21), and I pulled a few guys out of the shop and had them go pick up the dump trailer from Mr***s home this afternoon? As with many things in life, sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that cause delays, and we greatly appreciate Mr***s patience in this matter?

Revdex.com spoke with the business. They have been in contact with the customer to set up an appointment to address the concerns with the leak and unfinished work on the contract.

Please find attached the permit and approval notice for this job. Virginia Carolina Builders is willing and able to address all concerns with their customer to satisfied the job. In order to do this a meeting would need to be set up with the customer and the business to address lingering concerns and set up a completion plan. The business is unable to refund work when they have not been given the chance to now work with the customer and resolve the issues.

In January 2017, [redacted] submitted a request for VCB to provide her with a quote through our only quote request system. (See attached printout: this is the information that Ms. [redacted] submitted as her property.  Notice she stated the quote was for a 16 X 80 single wide mobile...

home.  There is no mention of any porch/extension/deck/additional roof area to be covered.  Simply requested 16 x 80. As VCB is located in [redacted], it is standard practice with customers in ** and ** to give quotes over the phone for mobile homes, without ever going to the property to take measurements.  Mrs. [redacted] was made aware of this fact and verbally agreed to the quote of $[redacted] and to sign the contract either by mail or at the installation.  Mrs. [redacted] then submitted actual measurements of the mobile home, (16 X 76), and selected the color Light Grey for her roof, so that the metal could be fabricated. Mr. & Mrs. [redacted], then contacted VCB to request financing for their roof.  (See attached credit application which was taken over the phone.  Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] provided ALL of their personal information to obtain financing.  Surely, they would not have requested, or submitted their personal information for financing without agreeing to have the roof installed.  Once approval was obtained for financing on June 29, Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] were contacted  to relay approval status, negotiate payment terms and to schedule the installation.  At that time all financial documents were printed and mailed with the roofing contract to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted], certified mail, for their signatures, as agreed.  Mr. [redacted] received the package and signed for it on July 11, 2017. (Note: The roof had been installed several days prior, and neither Mr. or Mrs. [redacted] contacted VCB for any reason.) On July 20, 2017, VB contacted Mr. [redacted] contacted to inquire on status of signed documentation.   Mr. [redacted] returned the call a short time later stating that the porch roof had not been done as his wife had requested.  Mr. [redacted] stated that his wife told him that she specified that thee porch needed a roof and he was not signing his contract or  Finance documents, nor was he paying any additional money for the additional roof.  Although Mr. B[redacted] specifically remembered asking, and his notes from their initial conversation stated “no porch/additions”, he agreed to come and install a metal roof on their porch, at no charge.  (Notice this was the first contact that Mr. or Mrs. [redacted] had made with VCB after installation, and there was no mention of not wanting or not agreeing to buy the roof, only that the porch was not installed on the porch area.)) The metal for the porch was fabricated. Since July, VCB has made numerous attempts to contact Mr. & Mrs. [redacted], via phone call, letters, statements etc…, with no answer and no returned calls.  The last week of September, We even sent the materials for the porch to ** with one of our subcontractors who was working approximately 30 minutes from their home.  We attempted again to contact Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] to arrange the porch roof installation with no success. The subcontractor was there for 3 ½ days and also made multiple attempts to contact them for resolve the issue. On November 8, 2017, VCB collection manager made a Fourth written request to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted], to allow us to complete the work or pay the bill to avoid judgment and a lien.    As this was her fourth attempt with no response to the first three, this letter was mailed certified on November 8, 2017 and has not yet been delivered according to USPS tracking website. Friday November 10, 2017, VCB collections manager once again attempted to call.  Mr. [redacted] answered the phone.  He stated that he did not sign anything for the roof and was not paying for the roof, and that VCB “could come get the F[redacted] roof but he wasn’t paying a dime”.  VCB collections manager informed Mr. [redacted] that we needed to resolve the issue or we would be forced to seek judgment and a lien on the property.  He said “[redacted] you”, and hung up on her. This is when Mr. [redacted] contacted the Revdex.com.  At no time an any of our multiple attempts to resolve this issue since July, including the conversation on July 20th when Mr. [redacted] stated that he had wanted the porch covered in addition to the mobile home, did either Mr. or Mrs. [redacted] ever state that they had not wanted the roof.  The simple fact is that Mr. & Mrs. [redacted], requested a quote, provided all information, verbally agreed to the price of the roof and all terms of the contract, agreed to sign the contract, contacted VCB again to ask assistance in financing, provided all personal information to obtain this financing, agreed to the payment terms of the financing contract, agreed to sign the financing contract, agreed to the installation date and agreed 100% with everything through each step of the process, until it was time to pay the bill.  VCB is in the process of seeking judgment and a lien for the monies owned for a job that was verbally agreed to on many levels.

Sales person should never have told Mr. [redacted] that. It is a condensation problem. Roof is installed properly. His homeowners as already contacted me about this matter.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. No offer was made to respond to. The only "offer" was an email from Marie [redacted] on January 18. At that time she stated that if I could come to Crewe and get all of my money back and that I could get someone else to put a roof on. She also left a message on my answering machine about this. I was not home that day and when I called her Tuesday morning, I was informed that the offer was only good on Monday.
Virginia Carolina wants to blame the problems on not enough vents or insulation. Their salesman Mark M[redacted] sold me their product after inspecting my roof and attic. It would seem to me that if you did not have enough vents or insulation they would tell you to correct any problems before installing their product.
I have spoken to the contractor Marie [redacted] called. He said they discussed several issues associated with the roof. It is true that there were not any visible leaks the day the contractor was there, but there were several areas that were wet in the attic. He said that he also told informed Marie [redacted] that evidently there are some issues with the valleys of the roof. She neglected to include that information in the reply.
I am attaching the emails surrounding Marie [redacted] "offer" to me on behalf of Virginia Carolina. I have never dealt with a company like this.

There is no dispute that a building permit was obtained. VA Carolina Buildings state they are unable to refund work when they have not been given the chance to now work with the customer and resolve issues. We have tried working with VA Carolina buildings through phone calls, letters, and pictures with no direct response from them.  Although they did send their contractors back to our property twice without our knowledge.  They have had several chances to resolve the issues.  Coming back and trying to patch and caulk does not fix the issues. We want to move forward and hire a contractor to remove and reinstall this roof correctly.

Mr. [redacted] called me today. I have been on vacation since someone was at his house so I have to get with them and get the pictures so I can see what is going on. It may be a condensation issue

Regards,
This is a follow up on the complaint filed by myself, [redacted]
[redacted] against VA Carolina Buildings. Their response to the complaint is that
the work is finished and that I just don’t want to pay. That’s correct. I don’t
want to pay because they are severely over charging me for poor service. The whole
ordeal has been poorly handled by their business. Including in this fax I have
the original contract, the cost invoice, and a reputable website’s estimate of
the same job they did at my residence, with a low and high price range. On the original contract the roof is clearly stated. We agreed
on that price and the job completed. The only complaint I have with the roof is
that they didn’t do what they advertised they’d do. I’m not making a huge deal about
it because I was assured the roof wouldn’t leak. I have an area on the roof
when the shingles were pushed up. There’s a good size area on my kitchen
ceiling that clearly shows leakage. They were supposed to gut out that area,
shingles and the plywood. VA Carolina Buildings stated to me that they allowed
3 plywood pieces of repair, after that the Home owner or insurance is
responsible. They did not replace that plywood or the shingles. They were right
over top of the damaged area. Now there’s a big ugly hump there, where the poor
quality of work was done. Even so, I agreed to pay the full price for the work
and I’m not going to fight the cost of the roof job. As for the siding job they
did. I’ve already sent in a complaint, reporting the poor service and work the
company gave me. But what I didn’t report is the pricing side of this. [redacted] on
the original contract the siding job cost is left blank. The reason for that
was because VA Carolina Buildings had to price the material first. I asked
multiple times from that day I signed onward, how much is this siding job going
to cost. I was assured by the project manager over and over to rest easy, because
it wouldn’t be more than what the insurance was paying. If it was, it wouldn’t
be much, and there would be a supplement sent in to get more money from the insurance
company. I have a text message to the project manager saved that states, “I
need to know what this is going to cost.” He replied, “He had to price the
materials and he would let me know.” After asking several times, not once did
anyone tell me a price. Not once. I got the price of the siding job after the
job was completed. The invoice that’s [redacted] is dated 6-9-2015. This means
that the materials were priced on that date or before. From 6-9-2015 until
7-16-2015 I was unaware of the cost of this job. On 7-16-2015, the day after
the siding job was completed, the invoice was mailed to me, of which I saw the
cost for the first time. The cost for the siding job was 5,000 over insurance
budget. If the price had been told to me when it should have been, VA Carolina
Building would not have done my siding. This is an overpriced number that the
[redacted] estimated that I [redacted] shows. I am currently calling around asking
for professional siding companies to come in and give me estimates to redo the
job. I will be including these estimates when I received them all.VA Carolina Buildings is also responsible for the glass
their sub-contractors busted out of our van. As of now we cannot find the
glass. We have checked several salvage yards despite not wanting to even go
that route. No one seems to have it. We will keep trying.Today I also spoke with [redacted]. [redacted] is a head of [redacted]
[redacted]. [redacted] is my insurance company that gave the quote
for my damages. Despite what the project manager of VA Carolina Buildings says,
she says that me adjuster did allow for a complete siding replacement to my
entire home. She spoke with my adjuster today in hopes of maybe they made a mistake
somehow, but no. She said that VA Carolina buildings definitely over charged. The
estimate I [redacted] clearly shows that. Also, on the estimate I [redacted], it does say
that a 15-23% markup can be added if a supervisor is there for the job. VA
Carolina Buildings has a project manager. There was no supervisor here. He only
came to my residence when I had an issue, and to complain to me, asking me why I
contacted the Revdex.com. I took several pictures of how they left
my residence unfinished and poorly constructed for over a full week. He saw the
poor quality of work and had no issues with the work.
