My newly-built home has windows on the front: are trimmed in white and is trimmed in beige All should be white trim
The issue of "install exterior trim to be white around stone front window" was identified as an "issue to be corrected" on a Westport "Homeowners request for service" form which was completed 5/17/2017, prior to my closing on the house
A 90-day inspection completed by Westport and myself on 8/23/indicated it as "items needing attention" in item "master bed window trim needs installed; not white."
I left another message for Morgan at Westport on 12/I was told she was at lunch, and would be back She never called

My wife and I purchased a Westport home located at *** *** *** *** *** *** on July 2,2018, for 200,Before the day walk through inspection I sent several emails and made phone calls concerning issues with my Westport HomeThe concrete in the driveway of my new Westport Home has developed a small crack, when they were asked to repair the this futuristic large problem (Indiana winters) they have refused on the theory of a garbage truck causing this issue, however there are no rut markes of vehicles of any kind in my front yardWe have not been in our new Westport Home a year and it was less than days when I discovered this defect in our drivewayFor the purchase price of our home and all the upgrades that we've had installed we only want the great care and customer service Westport advertises and that we deserveThank you

I closed on my Westport home March 18th I was told at that time *** would be out to install my light post which is mandated by the covenants of my addition, this did not happen and I consequently received a violation letterMy yard was never installed until I sent several e-mails in regards to the yardOnce the yard was installed no re-grade was done, it was seeded and trash was left strewn throughout the yardMulch was thrown down without a barrier and weeds grew in through the mulch a week later, the yard is horrific nothing but weeds because of the extremely poor work that was doneI contacted *** directly and was told he would be out and never cameI also filled out a work order and that still resulted in nothing until I called the office againI am extremely disappointed in Westport and how this has been handledI have be

Westport Homes hires grading contractors to compact the ground before pouring foundations, rather than using large amounts of aggregate as concrete supportThis minimizes the chance of foundations cracking, and certainly reduces building costs for WestportHowever, these grading contractors do -not- scrape the topsoil off to one side when doing this soil compaction, then return it before seeding a lawnSo when the lawn seeders sow the grass seed, they are doing so directly on the hard tack clay layer that is supposed to be underneath topsoil, an almost impossible start for a decent lawn
If you contract with Westport for a home, be certain to have the contract amended so that it specifies Westport, upon completion of a home's construction, will add two inches (minimum) of -black- topsoil to the lot for the purposes of grass seedingSpecifying black topsoil prevents Westport from simply scraping up depleted dirt from any source in order to satisfy the contract
As a result, a lawn will develop much healthier, thicker grass, assuming the rest of the seeding process follows best practicesThe thicker the grass, the lower the chance for weeds to develop, thus reducing home ownership costs by not spending money on herbicidesThis also improves the resale value of the home and, in the aggregate, the neighborhood

I built a home with Westport years ago...a big mistakeEvery room leaks air in the houseThe kitchen floor is freezing cold from air leak in one corner of the kitchenThe walk in closets are freezing coldThe fireplace leaks airIf it's not lit in the winter then cold air is always coming inUtility bills are through the roof to heat and cool our super energy efficient home....yeah right! They came out to address numerous issues but they were a jokeTotal waste of time having any repairs or service issues handled by WestportThey will either mask the problem or refer you to someone elseYou can feel missing carpet padding in spots around the houseThey even installed wrong garage door color then decided to paint it white rather then replace itAfter complaining(multiple times) about the fact they didnt install the water spigot I paid for in my garage...they tore out the drywall a couple days before closing and ran it off the washers water linesNow I can't water my lawn with garage spigot because the water going to the washer is softenedThe grass seed planted is shade mix because it doesn't grow in direct sunlight..grows like a weed under my trampoline!! Bottom line if you want quality do not build with WestportNo response neededIf I have a warranty I don't want itI'll never have them on my property ever again

Just a follow up on Mr***, case 12741128. The siding repairs were completed this morning

*** dropped off a dehumidifier and a couple of fansThey also used their steam cleaner to suck up the waterNo treatment was done for mold other than thatWhen they checked the drywall for water, *** employees showed us that it was 4" above the baseboardsThe majority of the water was in our daughter's room and the very first night the dehumidifier was running, it caused her to have a massive headacheIf the cost was at a much greater expense than replacing the water logged padding, carpet, walls and vinyl flooring (for this warranted item) why would you put us through all of this trouble? I would really like to see the bill from ***I also stated, in an email, that I wanted things to be replaced ....not repaired out of fear of mold since we are only five months into owning the property and I have serious medical conditionsI do not understand why you would not honor my request, especially if it was cheaper to just replace the items as I have asked you to do in the first place? I mean, you just clearly stated yourself that it would have been cheaper to replace the itemsand I know for a fact that there was no treatment for mold other than the use of a dehumidifier and some fans because Ron at *** was asked if they treated for mold and he said noThat they were told to suck up as much water as they could and we would have to continue with the dehumidifier and fansThe fans were extremely loud and since it caused my daughter to get sick, I stressed to Kenny that I wanted everything replacedKenny stated that was not going to happen because there was no need for it to be replaced if it could be repairedWith that being said, unless you can supply proof that the walls, carpet, padding and vinyl floor has been treated with a chemical to prevent mold, at the time of the leakWe want the walls that were affected, replacedWe want the padding and carpet replaced in our daughter's room and the hallway that were saturated with waterIf the carpet was discontinued or doesn't match the rest of the carpet...then I guess you need to replace all of the carpetWe want the vinyl replaced in the bathroomI believe that this is fair to ask forWe purchased the home brand new, we have taken great pride and expense in the propertyThis is clearly not something that we have done to the property ourselves...so we deserve our home to be in the excellent condition in which we bought it and have kept it in since the purchaseNo exceptions!

They can supply the paperwork to me, Mr***They have my email address, my wife have it to themI will only accept this if they have it in writing that we do not have to worry about mold at allIf any mold develops in the future from this leak, they will be responsible for whatever cost we are charged to fix the issueAlso, the repairs (painting, sealing the trim, fixing the carpet and steam cleaning all areas involved) needs to take place before ThanksgivingOur lives have been disrupted enough by this company

Westport will continue to clean up and restore the home but will not replace walls, flooring, or other items as requested by the ownersThere simply is no need to do thisThe home was treated for mold by removing the food source that mold would:use to grow, the water and moisture in the walls and floor*** and its staff are trained in water and moisture removal and remediationWestport relies upon their training and expertise in this areaIf removal of the wall or flooring would have been recommended or called for by this organization Westport would have gladly done so
The leak the ***' family had to deal with was/is a huge inconvenienceWestport apologizes they are having to deal with it but will do only what is necessary to restore the home and nothing further

Decide not to buy Westport home after they kept pushing off the completion dateEvery time we went over there to look at house they had messed something else upPressured us into giving them grand up front when we signed a contract saying grand to start buildingGave them grandContract says if we cancel building with them they will keep grand, not all 10,

Home was built and problems pursued First issue was with the plumbing as the master bath shower drain was not glued and the first shower resulted in water in the ceiling The next issue was the second bath upstairs was not routed correctly (Hot to cold, cold to hot) Next, the main drain from the master bath in the wall had a broken coupling causing the wall to get water damaged and the floor to be wet for weeks The roof had various nail head showing outside of the shingles
The current standing issue is the siding is not built to standard (ASTM D4756, ASTM D3679, VSI Installation Manual, and International Residential Code) We have had siding fall off, come loose, and it sounds like the siding will be blown off the walls under mild wind (10+ MPH) When investigated further, there are nails too loose with a good percentage not into studs that is allowing the siding to move more than it was designed for There are also pieces that are not fully latched/not tight enough to keep

While I appreciate the response, when I originally called, I was told by whomever answered the phone, "I will let the manager know." and further: I'm sure you don't want to have to call back." Since I was not contacted and nothing was done about the trash four days after my call, and since the trash was such an eyesore, I removed what was trapped in my backyard
There is still trash remaining that has blow thrown the fence separating my yard and my neighbor'sIt is trapped in the bushes and trees at the rear of his property and mine but not accessible to me due to the fence

Built our home years agoPromises were made by Westport that were never keptday walk-through not completed until year in the house, repairs never made to the houseOur window fell out of our home within months!!!! I sat on the porch with Kenny while he told the window company it was "no big deal" We were continuously told that someone would be to the house to take care of our issues and no one would showWe have been told our issues were taken care of when they actually werent, we would know!
years in and still have MULTIPLE ISSUESI would never recommend this company to anyoneAll of my surrounding neighbors are disappointed
Yard is horrible, customer service is nil, promises not kept, product is cheap and there is no craftsmanship to speak of

Company rep came to my home and told me their lawn care personal would make necessary repairs to our lawnCame and said he lied and swore about him
Before my closing, they spread grass seed and straw in the yard on a TuesdayThe next morning when we came by the house all the straw had blown away as well as the grass seedThen I was contacted in person by Westport homes representative stating that they lawn care personnel would come and repair our lawn since it was never taken care of from the first day we own the homeHe stated he would have them fill in the front yard that is all sinkholes and to re-seed the rest of the yard that is nothing but dirtWhen their lawn care guy came here he told me he wasn't doing anything except fixing where the cable company laid the cable down and told me very foul words about the Westport home rep and saying that he lies to everyoneMuch t of my yard is just a dustbowl and nothing is being done about it

window doesn't have trim around it but the window itself is whiteWestport explained this to Ms***
During the inspection Westport noticed an issue with the bedroom trim that does need attentionIf Westport can repair this without removing stone it will do with the same color window trim that is there nowIf stone needs to be removed to accommodate this repair Westport will install white to accommodate Ms***'s request
This was all communicated to Ms*** and she commented that she hoped stone had to be removed, ;-)

I did choose the color "Hearthstone" for "Gutter/Trim" during the selection processI did NOT know that window of the on the front of the house would have "trim." So, I guess the builder wins - window has "hearthstone trim", windows are all whiteThis was not explained during the selection process

I would never recommend anyone using Wesport Homes in Fort Wayne My husband and I built our home a year ago While building, when we moved in, and yet a year later STILL having issues with things Westport puts all issues and problems right back on the homeowner like it is our fault I have never dealt with a company that has this poor customer service and communication skills with their customers Here are just some prime examples that we had to deal with/still are dealing with After weeks of being in our home, I was home and a contractor still had a key to our home and tried to come into our home to "fix the refrigerator" neither myself or husband put in a request to have it fix...because nothing was wrong with it Westport denied that no one had keys to our new home, and would not change the locks for the safely of my family So my husband and I took on the expense and changed the locks ourselves After being in our NEW home for only FULL MONTH, (February not to mention the coldest days of the year) our furnace stopped working for days It took days and different guys to figure out what with wrong with it My family was displaced from our BRAND new home for days while they worked to get the furnace workingA year later this February (last month) the furnace yet again stopped working, and was displaced from our home again for a dayThe after hour service department for Fire and Ice is a joke, because they carry NO parts on the truck to fix things We have contacted Westport and Fire & Ice to have a new furnace installed after have issues with it in yearbut yet again horrible customer service, and don't care about replacing the unitPutting the blame one someone else but themselvesBack in December my husband was off work for a month n half due to surgery, he called and scheduled to have the drywallers and painters come in to fix the yearly walk through nail pops and settling Appointments were set by contacting the Westport officeMy Husband was home both days the appointments were scheduled for, but no one showed up for either appointment Drywallers then came on a day right before Christmas, when no one was home After MANY MANY calls and miss appointments, the drywallers finally showed mid-January (1/15/2017) luckily my husband was homeStill to this date (3/7/2017) painters have not returned My husband reached out to Wesport to express our concerns with this messYet they tell us that someone has to be home M-F from 8am-3:30pm for painters to comeBoth of us work FULL time M-F 8am-5pm (just like any person) and no one will make an exception to come when we are homeWell it wasn't our fault that so many appointments were missed for a whole month After Westport home telling us to take OUR time off work so someone would be at the house, we made an appointment for March and made arrangements for family to be at our house for painters to comeWe were just notified today that ohh all of a sudden the painters can no longer make yet another appointment We are still trying to work on a time for the painters to come This issue has now been going on months, and no one at Wesport seems to careThese are only just a FEW of the issues that we have dealt with, with Westport Homes I will NEVER recommend a consumer/home builder to use this company Spare your time and money and look into another company that actually cares for their customer and has communication skills

until very recently to begin grading and installing yards and that Westport would be into Mr***'s subdivision as early as next week depending on weatherWeather has cooperated and Westport will be in Mr***'s subdivision starting Monday to begin the installation processDue to recent rain and forecasted rain this weekend, Westport intends to start the process by back filling areas between curbs and side walks with fill and then installing trees, bushes, and mulchGrass seed and straw will go down last, probably towards end of the week (provided the ground is dry enough to support the contractors equipment)Mr*** entered into an Escrow Agreement with his lender and Westport at the time of his closing (see attached agreement) that gives Westport until May to complete the workTo that end Westport intends to meet its obligation as outlined in the Agreement and will not pay a fee for someone else to do the workIf Westport is unable to meet its obligation to install the yard by May it will forfeit the money currently held in escrow and Mr*** can install his yard how he desiresWe understand the Mr*** has been patient and wants his yard installed and we very much would like to get it installed for him as soon as possible

I am rejecting this response because:We have not seen anyone from any siding crews in December 2017. The first complaint was in spring of through their service request when the first piece came loose and we were told that was storm damage when upon further investigation it does not meet city code as the wind speed was not greater than mph. We have also been told by both *** and *** that your siding crew will be contacting me to schedule a review but have yet to be contacted. The only piece that has been repaired was done by a different siding crew at the request of your salesman after seeing it on Facebook. I nor my wife has signed off on any siding repair or investigation

Simply pour attention to detail!
Pour customer help !
Only time they like to talk to you its to take your money!
If you have problems with anything they do whatever to avoid fixing!
They lied in able to miss warranty appointments !
Kenny M*** it's very unprofessional as far as being a repair man !
Charlie G*** , seems to always raise the price of the agreement contract to build right before they braking ground ! Claiming that the cost of materials had gone up!
And hit you anywhere from 2% up to 10% on the total cost of your home !
I simply saying that I will never ever build with this contractor again! And I said contractor because no one from that WestPort ever pound one nail into our house!
It's all sub by other who butter way are paid poorly and Wesport keeps all the profits! And never finishes warranty work !

Trash from build site dumpster collecting in my backyardPhone call to Westport Homes did not result in trash being picked up
Westport Homes is constructing a new home at *** *** *** *** two houses north of mineThey placed a very large, uncovered dumpster in the front yard about two months agoTrash from the dumpster has blown into my backyard and gotten caught in the trees and shrubs that border my backyardOn March 27, 2017, I called Westport Homes to report the problem and ask that the trash be picked up(since it is in an area that is hard to access and gets muddy when it rains)I was told that the supervisor for the site would be notified of the problem so the trash could be picked upI left my name, address and phone number
I was given the impression that it would be promptly addressed as the individual who answered the main number told me: "I'm sure you don't want to have to call again." But nothing has been
done about the problem after four days

visit to her homeI went to see what the yard actually looked likeAs I explained to Ms***, the yard is in decent shape but it desparately needs mowedAnd explained how she could prevent weeds in the mulch with a pre emergent fertiliazer (while at the home Pulled eight weeds from the mulch that I could find easily)Where Ms*** has watered her yard consistently she has grass growingWhere she hasn't watered (including the area where the dog tie is located) grass is not growingI instructed Ms*** to continue to water where she has and the rest of the yard at least minutes per day and the grass would grow and then to fertilize in September to help fight weeds and help the grassMs*** yard is not under any warranty from Westport as she acknowledged on her Warranty exclusion form prior to closing (a copy is attached)Westport Will do nothing further with regards to Ms*** yard
