World Motors Reviews (22)

Review: 14 days after purchasing the vehicle, the battery started dying every couple days. Following the battery problems, electrical problems began. Dealership was contacted within the 14 days of purchase and we were told it was a bad battery. Upon checking the battery at [redacted], we were told it was not defective. Electrical problems included headlights turning on and off, car loosing power, interior lights fluttering, problems intensified while on the interstate 65-75 mph. Taking it to BMW dealership, we paid $130 for diagnostics, to find that World Motors had used the wrong battery for the car and did not connect it to the computer. We then paid $500 to replace battery and calibrate it to the computer. Due to previous battery issues, a module controlling the anti-lock brake system and 4x4 capability went out and needs to be replaced. We were quoted $2,000 minimum to fix this issue. We have had this vehicle less that 2 months and have so far put in about $1000 and still have the module to replace, making it a potential $3000- $3500Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund and for World Motors to take the vehicle back as we do not feel comfortable reselling to another person. We would also like to be reimbursed for the amount of money we have already put into the vehicle.

Response:

World Motors guarantees all of our vehicles for 15 days or 500 miles, whichever occurs first. We are in full compliance with Arizona's Implied Warranty of Merchantability. We have never been shown this vehicle since sale and have no way to verify any of these complaints. This vehicle was out of the warranty when we were first contacted by phone about this issue. Unfortunately there is no warranty coverage for this claim. This vehicle was fully serviced prior to sale. World Motors installed a brand new [redacted] battery as part of normal maintenance on the car. [redacted] is an OEM battery replacement and does not need to be "connected" to the computer. Whoever told you this is lying to you. Replacing a battery has zero effect on any modules in the car. All car batteries die after a period of time and are replaced all the time. This battery is fully warranted by the manufacturer. It does not cause $3k in damage to the vehicle to replace a battery. These are separate issues. While there is no coverage for this item, World Motors would be more than happy to have it repaired for wholesale dealer cost which would be considerably less than any quote you are receiving. Bring the car by so we can take a look at it.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I can provide phone records that proves I contacted World Motors within the 15 day time frame, I even received a refund for the warranty they sell, I asked for a refund on the warranty because I reported the problem and researched it and found that a draw on the battery was not covered, all within 15 days. [redacted] instructed me to go to pep boys where the battery was under warranty. Pep boys refused to replace the battery because they said the battery was fine and there was a draw on the car. [redacted], I followed [redacted]'s directions and went ahead and got a new battery from BMW. [redacted] the Service adviser informed me that his mechanics in fact found the battery to be bad, [redacted] informed me that the battery needed to be replaced and "registered to the computer to function properly". After receiving this response I went to BMW on 5/22 requesting documentation stating that the battery was registered because I did not see it on the service not. I was helped by [redacted] this time and he in fact told me that on my model of BMW the battery does not have to be registered not the computer like I was informed. I was upset and spoke with [redacted] the supervisor who refunded me money for being over charged with labor, I will follow an additional complaint on BMW if they cannot help me tomorrow after they flat out lied out lied to my face, I am predicting negative outcomes similar to the ones I have had with world motors. I will attach the service request showing the amount I paid BMW for the battery I was instructed to buy from [redacted] within the warranty period. The battery I got from BMW is now dead as of this morning (what a surprise). I am going to take the battery to BMW and request a new one and additional paper working stating there is a draw on the car. there has been since day one and I believe world motors knew about it. I know the car is a lemon, I want to return it before I get seriously injured driving it.

What would you like us to do to help you? I'm not clear from your message what exactly you are looking for.

Review: I purchased my vehicle from World Motors on 6-10-15 and on that same day the check engine light went on and found out it was catalytic converter that was bad. They assured me that they would take care of the repair. It was repaired by [redacted] on the 6-29-15 and the check engine light went back on on 7-3-15. When I spoke to [redacted] they told me that the catalytic converter that was being used to replace mine was an aftermarket and that is why the catalytic converter was going bad. It was then taken back into [redacted] on 7-7-15, 7-15-15, 7-28-15, each time to make repairs to the catalytic converter because the check engine light kept going back on. On 7-31-15, [redacted] from Would Motors and I exchanged text messages asking me to take it back to their mechanic and leave it for a few days to diagnose the issue. I asked to take it to my own mechanic and that request was denied. I took the car back into their mechanic ([redacted]) and left it with them from 8-4-15 to 8-7-15 and the mechanic said he would be putting a used catalytic converter on the car, but assured me it would work. He made the diagnosis and asked me to return the car on 8-19-15 and kept it until 8-20-15 when he said the car was repaired. I was told by [redacted] that they would be putting a used catalytic converter on the car but assured me it was a “good one.” The check engine light went back on on 8-22-15. I spoke with [redacted] from World Motors on 8-24-15 and he had me bring the car to [redacted] who would look at the car and asked that I bring it in on 8-31-15. The car was looked at by [redacted] on 8-31-15 and said the vehicle needed a OEM catalytic converter. [redacted] from [redacted] told me that they just needed authorization to make the $1600 repair to the car before they could proceed. I spoke to [redacted] from [redacted] again on 9-3-15 and said that they sent the repair order to Wold Motors but not had heard back. I then called [redacted] from World Motors who told me that they would not be going with [redacted] and would be buying the catalytic converter in house and that I should get it repaired at [redacted] again. Because of the catalytic converter isn’t working, I will not be able to pass ** emissions.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay to have the car repaired at a mechanic of my choosing or refund me the purchase cost of the vehicle since it has been in the hands of their mechanic so many times.

Response:

Your car passed emissions prior to sale. We replaced the catalytic convertors with brand new ones at no cost to you. The check engine light came on outside of the warranty period. We are under no obligation to do anything for you but we were helping you out in the name of good customer service. We have bent over backwards to help you out. We are unable to offer any further assistance at this time. Thanks,[redacted]World Motors
