Basically Fraud
Got sold a bill of good by one of YellowBlue's distributor, Homedoctor llc. Very smooth presentation but without substance, directed at Senior Citizen crowd. Rep came to my house the next day, who convinced me to way overpay for an overpriced product. Before the worker showed the next day I realized I was duped, but figured at least I was going to get a quality product installed by workers skilled with the products. BOY WAS I WRONG. 2 young guys worked for

We had Yellow Blue install the attic multi-layer insulation, and added the probiotics and air seal services to our home too and wow what a difference we noticed in our energy bills on the very next month and dust was completely eliminated upstairs. We also noticed the clearing up our scratchy throats and morning coughs we used to wake up too. Thank you for helping us.

We had the yellow blue solar fan and multi layer insulation installed 4 years ago. Our home is 15 years old. It's is much more comfortable and our utility bill is down substantially. This is one of the best investments we've ever made. Thanks yellow blue.

I recently attended a sales presentation by South Atlantic Energy LLC., a Yellow Blue Eco Tech distributor. The purported "energy savings" products this company was selling included solar attic fans, radiant aluminum attic insulation, air conditioner coolant additives and water heater blankets. The sales pitch unfortunately lacked clarity as to the science based evidence behind most of these products (there isn't much) and the actual overall cost savings. For example, studies conducted by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC), both unbiased research facilities, concluded that recovering the cost (in a/c energy savings) of installing two attic solar fans totalling $850 would exceed 20 years. $425 was FSEC's cost estimate for each fan and installation). FSEC concluded that that you can expect about 460 KWH per year savings and at $.12 per KWH in Florida, that equates to around $60 per year or $5 per month savings. South Atlantic charges $1295 per fan (includes installation). Most homes having more than about 1500 sq ft require at least two fans. To recover the two fan cost ($2600) in a/c electric bill savings would far exceed 20 years based on these calculations. FSEC concluded that even at the $425 cost per fan installed, the "payback is not very favorable". Decent conventional code required insulation, adequate soffit air flow and roof ridge vents (which most Florida homes have) should suffice and remain relatively cost effective for now compared to solar attic fans according to many sources.

The pricey air conditioner coolant additive the company sells has little hard science to support its use as a cost savings product and a product that will extend the life of the air conditioner unit as was claimed. It also begs the question why the product, if as good as claimed, would not be used as a sales incentive if installed and advertised by an air conditioner manufacturer or sold by local HVAC companies...unless you are so cynical to presume these companies thrive solely on planned obsolescence.

The bulk of this company's profit appears to come from selling their aluminum foil attic insulation. Curiously, they tout the aluminum as 99.9% pure as if that has some significance (the stuff you wrap your baked potato with is about the same). Their sales pitch also made reference to NASA using radiant heat barriers, but trying to compare the vacuum of outer space with an attic lacks good science. Additionally, but not mentioned, is that as an aluminum radiant heat barrier accumulates dust on its surface, it's heat reflective ability can be significantly degraded.. During their presentation, the classic infomercial hype... "but wait, if you act right away" you get a discounted price of $3.47 per sq ft. with free installation was used to pressure a quick purchase decision. At $3.47 per sq ft, a 2000 sq ft attic would run about $7000. To recoup that size investment, you would have to see the a/c portion of your electric bill drop at least $60 per month for 10 years or $30 per month over 20 years (assuming you own the home or live that long). Surprisingly, several years ago, ORNL more conservatively calculated that a 2000 sq ft attic in Miami with an added radiant heat barrier would save you then about $5 a month. If their calculation is correct, it would take around 100 years to recoup $7000. Similar aluminum foil attic insulation products from big box stores appear to sell for around 25 cents a sq ft. So, buying a similar product at 25 cents a sq ft and paying an installer as high as $1000 (which was the installation value the South Atlantic Energy salesman said he was discounting), the total cost would be around $1500. Or you could do it yourself for about $500.

The company sold an expensive water heater blanket (along with $6800 of their products) to an elderly customer with a brand new good quality water heater... an unnecessary purchase especially in Florida. Newer water heaters are well insulated and the temperature extremes in Florida are not enough to warrant a blanket. It's also possible that this type of alteration to a water heater could void it's warranty. The consensus appears to be that the only time a water heater would benefit from a blanket in Florida is when it's old and/or it's warm or hot when you touch it. And if that's the case you need a new water heater, not a blanket.

Solar and energy savings products are important and represent the future, but this company did not properly disclose the cost vs savings or the true science behind some seemingly overpriced products.

Last spring we attended a dinner presentation by Pinnacle Powerful Solutions, LLC that was promoting YellowBlueEco Tech products. We were intrigued by their claims of 30-40% saving in our utility bills and that the product would "pay for itself", through reduced utility bills, in a short time. Following the dinner presentation a representative, Tony, came out to our home for a home inspection and "free estimate". However, we have cathedral ceilings in our home and DO NOT HAVE AN ATTIC! We explained that we were looking to replace our roof this year but where not ready at that time and were told it was the "perfect time" to install this MLI insulation and were told all we had to do was "tack it down" before installing it in a new roof. My husband stated we would consider it but Tony was persistent with his high-pressure sales pitch and, against our better judgement, we purchased their MLI insulation (to install when we replaced our roof) and a Solar attic fan for our garage. They installed the Solar fan that day and delivered rolls of insulation. We were told to call with any questions or problems. Move ahead a few months and we are trying to get bids on our roof replacement and are having issues with contractors asking how to "correctly" install the product and getting conflicting answers and MULTIPLE INSTALL "suggestions" that our potential roofing contractors are saying will void the warranty on our roof and/or cause potential problems and/or damage to the roof. We were told by Tony, the Pinnacle rep, to just to keep looking for a contractor until we find one to install the insulation! Seriously? Why would we do that when they are saying it may DAMAGE OUR ROOF? Now doubting this product was even intended for our particular type of roof and would not even TRUST that it will perform as presented and not damage our roof. Attempting to contact the owner of Pinnacle Powerful Solutions, LLC to return the product for refund as we do not believe or TRUST what this company is telling us. I would give ZERO stars if that was an option and would NOT RECOMMEND to anyone to purchase this product from Pinnacle! BUYER BEWARE!

Install done incorrectly. Took a month to fix. signatures on contracts signed by someone other than Buyer.
Presenter told us 50% tax credit per fan. It is 30%. Covering of preexisting vents were not covered correctly.Took a lot of phone calls 3 no shows til fixed. Attic is still 108 degrees when under 100 degrees was promised. Upstairs is cooler and within the promised couple of degrees different from downstairs. Signature of Buyer was put on contract by someone other than the buyer.Home owner threatened with bodily harm by Business owner via text messaging. I have that on paper as I copied it from the phone of the home owner.

Desired Outcome

At the very least take that extra 20% savings that we were promised off the price of fans and or job and send that to me the Buyer in check form for all the aggrivation we went through.

I would like to share my experience with Yellow Blue Eco Tech. There I met Nick, who later professed to be an owner/partner. He made a good presentation. I was familiar with some of the products. Spoke of aluminum sheeting developed by NASA and solar powered attic fans which I've seen advertised elsewhere. Both of which I wanted to try so I set up install date at an agreed price.

An install team arrived as scheduled to layer, vent my attic and update my AC (special oil). I was surprised how fast they worked. As someone not willing to climb into their own attic, I asked for pictures which they provide. It was hard to tell exactly what I was looking at, but was assure my total ceiling was covered.

I saw no reduction with my heating bills and no temperature conformity between my up stairs and down stairs this past winter. Always colder 5 degrees or more.

In May of this year, I contacted Nick and asked if there were any special instructions for an electrician to run an electrical cable over the reflective sheeting in my attic. He said no but if there were any problems I should let him know.

Well there was a very big problem. Half my attic had NO reflective sheeting! The installers took advantage of me as they assure me my total ceiling was covered. From my understanding of Physics, this installation was totally ineffective this past winter.

I contacted Nick and informed him of the problem. He was surprised and said someone would be sent out to check. A date/time was set but it was a "no show". Had to called Nick again and I was told he was a very busy man and didn't need to be bothered with my attic and would get someone out there. Again we set up a date and time. Again, a "no show" and had to call Nick. Once again he was very rude and thought I should keep my opinions to myself. I expressed my thoughts that if my attic was not fully covered, there might be others. When he said he was considering refunding my money, we ended our conversation with an agreed date and time.

This time someone showed up, it was Nick himself. I welcomed him into my home. As he and another installer were up in the attic and I made sure there were no TVs or radios on like the first time so I could hear them above the vaulted ceiling. I asked him about the AC oil which he agreed reinstall in a previous conversation. He refused to do this and when I asked about my front entry way attic, he would not do that either. Not wanting to get this guy upset in person, I asked him what's next and he said he would call me the next week to discuss what he could do for me. He said he needed to talk with his partners. No call that week. I ended up calling him that next Friday.

When he answered "what are you complaining about now". I reminded him he promised to call me that next and he said he had not talked to his partners yet and to quit calling him. He then asked what I expected. I felt that I went thru the coldest part of the winter without what I paid for and I should get something back. He said no! He then contradicted himself and said he did talk to his partners and they agreed no compensation would be considered.

We had the yellow blue insulation installed and tracked energy savings for several months. Did not save a dime. Contacted them to remove as it.
We had the yellow blue insulation installed and tracked energy savings for several months. Did not save a dime. Contacted them to remove as it would never pay for itself. Kept getting passed *** one rep to another, one sub contractor to another. communication is the pits. Finally had someone come out and look at install and they took pictures and said some minor areas of no coverage. He did nothing and have not heard back from anyone. Guess it is now going to be that we are beyond any refund warranty date and are out of luck. My review - don't deal with them!!

Desired Outcome

removal and refund of insulation.

Yellowblue Eco Tech Response • Jul 10, 2018

We have been in touch with the independent authorized dealer in this case who reports that a rep was sent to look at Mr. insulation installation on April 27, 2018. It was determined at that time that, in general, the installation was fine. This dealer personally called Mr. twice the following week and left messages for Mr. to return the call to discuss the situation. Dealer states customer never returned his calls. Dealer also states it was explained to the customer at the time of sale the product warranty applies to product defect, not satisfaction guarantee.

Customer Response • Jul 12, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No message was left. At the time of sale at the restaurant presentation it was guarenteed. They claim it is not their fault but it is there product. Why is it not performing like stated? Maybe our house was insulated just fine and no additional product could make improvement. I guess that is my fault for not checking it out but when the sales presenter said guarenteed to reduce cost significantly we took him at his word and figured a guarentee meant they would make it right. Guess not. Will not be recommending yellow blue or any of its independent contractors to anyone I meet.

Yellowblue Eco Tech Response • Jul 31, 2018

Stated insulation covered in mold and this would be removed. Insulation not removed.
went to demonstration on 4/17/2018. They wanted to come that night about 8:30 to measure. Then said they would come at 12:00 next day to install.Told us there was a lot of mold on the insulation that needed to be removed. Said he took a picture and showed us the mold. Don"t know if that was our attic or not. Contract says you have 3 days to cancel. They were determined to do it the next day. They did not remove any moldy insulation. When I called Cory he said they sprayed it with something to get rid of it but could not tell me what. They did not take any kind of spray up there. We had this done because they told us we needed to get rid of the mold. When he went up and measured our attic he said we would need 2 solar fans. They put in 3. When I told Cory this he said they would give us that 3rd fan.I think they were in such a rush so we could nor cancel. The cost was $10,300 the dealers name is *** Alpha Elements, *** Rd Suite *** Atlanta Ga. XXXXX The mold is still there and we are $10,300 in debt.I feel we were rushed into something and told the mold was harmful. Had we not been rushed and we had more time to consider it we would have canceled.

Desired Outcome

I think the bill should be adjusted because they did not remove the moldy insulation as they promised.

In August 23,2016 we attended a "free" dinner at Ponderosa in our hometown, *** IN. There was a product demonstration and we invited the representatives to our house the next day. We only had in mind of purchasing a solar fan in our attic due to the intense heat in the summer. We ended up purchasing 2 solar fans, and an attic blanket, supposed to be an insulation product. The total amount came to $5,418. We put $1,000 deposit on our credit card, and financed the balance of $4,418.
We are senior citizens, and we take reponsibility for our decision of purchase, but we were taken advantage of, having no idea we would end up with this kind of expense.
So what is our complaint'. Was it a scam? We have been told that since we received product it isn't considered a scam. However, the products we purchased are absolutely worthless. They were to act as insulation to lower our bills and help remove the heat it the attic. A representative from *** Energy came and did an inspection to evaluate how we may help the cost of our utility bills. He also looked in our attic. I asked him if he was familiar with the products and he said he was. I asked him if he ever found it to be beneficial. He said only slightly in very hot climates.
I did my homework, contacted our attorney,he referred us to the Atttorney General office of the state of Indiana. Wd did email back and forth but essentially nothing was resolved.
We were also assured by the seller representing Heartland Eco, YellowbluEco Tech that there was a warranty on the products and it could be passed *** to a new owner if we were ever to sell our house. We never saw anything of the sort. He also promised to follow up and come to our home after the complaint, he did not only not come, but did not follow up with any contact to let us know he wasn't coming.
One of my express purposes of this complaint is to warn others of the false promises. There are other companies like this, different name. If it sounds too good to be true.....it is.
Product_Or_Service: attic blanket, 2 solar fans
Order_Number: NA
Account_Number: dealer #XXXXX

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment Personally, I believe the portion we still owe should be reimbursed. They need to be held accountable for not following up with customers. The public need to be aware.

Unable to receive hard copy trace ability to units installed and data used for unit selection.
I would like to have the following questions answered.

Number 1: PRODUCT REGISTRATION/CUSTOMER INFORMATION FORM has the following missing information -Solar Fan and sq/ft
It has been my experience that companies usually require, Model No; Serial No and Purchase Contract to validate registration for warranty.

Number 2: ALPHA ELEMENTS PURCHASE CONTRACT does not provide Model No; Serial No

Number 3: YELLOW BLUE MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFICATION STATEMENT missing installation cost and Model No; Serial No

Number 4:: YELLOW BLUE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS OF SA-20WB HPE-YB (2 ROOF FANS)

Number 5: SOLARO AIRE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS UNIDENTIFIED MODEL AND SERIAL NO

Number 6: WARRANTIES - Solaro Aire warranty has all the registration card information with no entries. Again Model No; Serial No are normally required to authorize warranty. - YELLOW BLUE warranty does not show Model No; Serial No

I see that the payment has been made by American Express.

Desired Outcome

provide missing information and data basis for selection of units installed.

Customer Response • Mar 29, 2018

We have received information regarding the models installed at our home and thank the company for that information, however, we did not receive clarification on the determination of which units would be installed based on the space in the attic and space in the crawl space to match the output of the units installed. We just want to understand the need for two units for the attic space and one unit for the crawl space since it seems like the space in question would be similar. Once that is resolved, we will consider the matter closed properly.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

After installation of the products we noticed ceiling damage to several rooms in our home. We have reached out to the two companies with no resolve.
We were invited to a presentation from All American Eco (Owensville, MO) to save on our energy costs. We went to the presentation put on by yellowblue Eco Tech. After purchasing the product the installers came to install the product. After the installation the lead installer was supposed to come back and inspect the installation of the product and sign off on the installation form. The lead installer never came back. (We are still in possession of the original installation/installer form that was given to us prior to installation.)

We stared noticing brown spots in our ceiling and contacted All American Eco on 1-1-18. We left a message on their voice mail at 1:37 pm. The gentleman returned our call at 2:40 pm on 1-1-18 indicating that we needed to call Lloyd or Nick concerning the problem. He gave us the phone numbers for both gentlemen to call. He indicated that if Nick did not take care of the problem to let him know and he would take care of this. (A complaint has been sent to the Revdex.com for All American Eco).

I first called Lloyd who indicated that we needed to call Nick. I left a message for Nick. No reply. Called again and a lady indicated that Nick would call us back that night. No call. I called several time from work and still no reply. Since no call had been received my spouse started calling Nick on 2-1-18 and 2-4-18. Nick called my spouse on 2-5-18 and discussed the matter for 3 minutes and 8 seconds. There was no reply as to when they would be down to address the issue. We also called our roofer due the damage to our ceilings and he questioned us as to why we had the solar fans installed when we had adequate ventilation in our roof. The roofer just indicated that we were sold a bill of goods that we didn't need. My spouse called on 2-7-18 indicating that we would be available on a particular day since I was off that particular afternoon to meet with Nick. Nick called my spouse back on 2-8-18 indicating that he was still in Iowa and would not be able to meet with us on that afternoon that I was off but that when we did meet that it would be on a day that I would not have to take off work. No response was received from Nick for several days. My spouse called again on X-XX-XX indicating that since we had not heard from him that we would contact the owner of All American Eco. My spouse called All American Eco on X-XX-XX to let the gentleman know that Nick had failed to come to address the issue. As of XX-XX-XX we have not heard from either company.

We have lived in our home over 20 years we no such damage prior to the solar fans being installed.

Desired Outcome

We would like for the company to come and inspect our ceilings and repair the damages to our drywall back to its original condition at their cost. Also we want the company to assume all liability for future damages caused by their product and installation to our home. Return of our money for this product would be a very nice gesture.

Yellowblue Eco Tech Response • Mar 05, 2018

We will be in touch with this dealer TODAY.

Customer Response • Mar 14, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We have contacted our contractor who is scheduled to come out and assess the damage and give us the cost to repair. We will contact the company once the bid is received to let them know. We would like to have a cashier's check sent so that we can pay the contractor directly since this company is out of state.

Recently we learned of YELLOWBLUE Eco Tech and about their products which promote home energy efficiency and ways to save us money. Their experience and professionalism impressed us.

Similar to another complaint, we were promised an $80 gift card for allowing the home analysis the same night as the presentation. We received only a $25 gift card (sounds familiar), but we were considering going further with them. I began to be concerned that agent did not have a business card and did not have a resolution for the gift card error. He also failed to return my message after challenging the $25 vs $80 card. When I researched Revdex.com and saw they were not Revdex.com accredited, the pieces started coming together. A very elaborate scam on the promotion so I cannot trust their work. Stay away!

my complaint has been settled satisfactory, thanks for helping my complaint to get to the person who could help me.

Very curteous. Came on time! Very professional.

We had our Yellowblue Multi Layer Insulation installed in our attic several years ago and it has reduced our energy bill by about 50%. We have been extremely satisfied with the attic blanket. We recently decided to add two Yellowblue solar powered attic fans to our home to enhance the benefits of this Multi Layer Insulation. The install techs did a super job and were very polite and clean.

Yellowblue Eco Tech Response

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your satisfaction with the products and service. We appreciate your business!

Wasted $6,446. No improvements from this product. Please stay away from this company. Never would return any messages left. Complete waste of money.
Purchased the yellowblue eco tech system after going to a presentation on 6/18/17. since they advertised that there would never be more than 1 degree difference anywhere in your house and my office was always so hot we purchased for that reason and the $1,395 tax credit which we will see. My office is still extremely hot so have not seen any improvements at all. We have left numerous messages but no one has yet to return any phone calls. Save your money and do make the same mistake that we did. Thanks

Desired Outcome

WE WOULD PREFER TO GET A TOTAL REFUND BECAUSE WE DO NOT SEE ANY BENEFITS FROM THIS SYSTEM AT ALL.

Ms. had complained that the temperature in her home varied by up to ten degrees from one end of the house to the other both before and after installation of our products. As soon as this complaint was made known to yellowblue we contacted the independent authorized dealer, Pinnacle Group, and the salesperson went out to Ms. residence to resolve the issue.
She (the salesperson) took temperature readings, confirmed that the product
was installed properly and made note that the higher temps were in a 'sunroom' of sorts, where Ms. has her office. It was suggested to her at that time that because of the many windows in that room, blinds or window tinting would aid in keeping the temperature more even in that room. A second visit was made
to Ms. home by the manager of the dealership who, again inspected the installation and discussed the temperature results. Our understanding is that Ms. does not accept our explanations/results. The manager reported that Ms. told him she's filed "five or six other Revdex.com complaints on other companies and they always give her her money back." We are at a loss as to how resolution can be made. However, the issue IS between the dealer and customer. Please let us know if yellowblue can do anything further
to facilitate resolve in this matter. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to these issues. As always, we are happy to facilitate resolutions to situations between customers and our independent authorized dealers. I assume our rating can now be adjusted now that we have responded to these two. Please feel free to contact me if there are further questions on these maters.

We are pleased with our purchase of MLI and a solar fan. We are able to keep our thermostat higher and still be comfortable. Tony P was extremely helpful in our purchase and helped tremendously with getting our financing. Yellowblue tech is an amazing product!
