I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my...

complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The bank is keeping the inquiry on my credit report, even though I have clearly state that it is not mine and that there was a fraud alert on my account at the time.  The inquiry was not mine.  The bank states that the fraudster used my details to make the inquiry and seems to think that absolves the bank of further responsibility.  It does not.  Of course the fraudster used my details - that is how the inquiry shows up on my credit report.  Keeping the inquiry on my credit report damages my credit rating.  SunTrust is behaving outrageously.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am [redacted] the victim of fraudulent checks which are reflected on the bank statement enclosed, check #'s [redacted] - [redacted]. I have been advised by the [redacted]
[redacted] to seek help through your organization as it is very unlikely that any restitution will come from the felons. I have enclosed a copy of the fraudulent checks and believe that there should be a system used by SunTrust Bank to verify signatures on an account before processing a transaction. I maintain my position that I should be compensated for the total amount of the checks in question.

We have received and reviewed you correspondence forwarded
to us from the CFPB and the Revdex.com regarding the closure of the above referenced
account. We appreciate the opportunity to respond. You indicated that a check you deposited by mobile deposit
caused your account to be closed. Our records...

reflect that, on April 13, 2015,
the [redacted] mobile check deposit for $500 was credited to the account. Your
account was new (opened April 9, 2015) and there was no maker contact information
provided on the check to verify the funds. The only comparable item we had on file
was another deposit that consisted of cash and a payroll check for $39.41.Based on the above information, a business decision was made
to close the account. This is further explained on page 22 ([redacted]) of our Rules
and regulations for Deposit Accounts which is provided at account opening and
on our website [redacted].We send the funds from the account closing balance to you,
but that check was returned because you had not included your apartment number
with your address when you open your account. On May 28, 2015, the check was
mailed to you again with the correct address. You may take the c heck, which
you should have received by now, to any SunTrust branch and provide
identification to cash the check.[redacted] if you have not received your check, or if you have
additional concerns, please contact us at [redacted]. One of our
representatives will be glad to assist you. We wish you well in your future
endeavors.[redacted]

We resolved Mr. [redacted] concerns by speaking with him on the phone on November 14, 2016.  We explained the reason for the overdraft fee but did credit the overdraft fee of $36.00 to the account.  We confirmed that his account was closed.  We also apologized for the inconvenience...

this matter may have caused. Should you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. Please close this case on your records.  Chris L[redacted] – Officer – Client Advocacy Management Office

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The researched response and detailed explanation of the fee are incorrect.  The transaction in question for $75.96 actually occurred on 06/03/2016 as verified by the attached receipt.  This transaction was also cleared from my account on 06/04 leaving my remaining at balance at $84.71.  The second transaction of $37.98 was presented on 06/08/2016.  If this amount was subtracted from the agreed on current amount, there should have been a remaining balance of $46.73 before the $274 deposit.  Based on the agreed sequence of transaction 2, it should have been impossible to incur this fee. This "transaction error" was then compounded back the fact that I have now spoke with 3 representatives from Suntrust bank who gave me 3 different explanations of how this could occur.  They each proceeded to advise me that I was ineligible for a "courtesy credit" because I received one on 06/17/2015.  This incident occurred on 06/09/2016, 9 days earlier the one year mark.  I felt in the effort of courtesy, Suntrust could have "approved" this annual occurrence considering it would once again disqualify me from received another credit. Granted they valued me as more than a series of numbers on a checkbook, they would have found me human and realized that although this 1 fee would not be a drop in the bucket to their establishment, it had been earmarked to cover 1 week of swim lessons for my 8-year old.  I am not closing the account because I'm upset about a fee as I can always make more money, my account will be closed because it is clear that your company does not value me as a customer.

Revdex.com:
The letter from SunTrust is unresponsive and ignores the
facts I explained in the complaint.
As I indicated in my complaint, I told Light Stream that I
had intermittent email service.  As a
result, I engaged in numerous conversations with the staff to provide the
information they requested.  I also asked
that the staff inform me of the interest rate by phone when they had completed
their analysis.  In fact, I received a
phone call from [redacted] that the analysis had been completed but was told that
I would have to access the interest rate on the computer.  I ended up taking out a car loan with a
different financial institution that I was dealing with face-to-face and was
able to be more responsive.
At that point, because of intermittent internet service and
having gone with another bank, I never responded to what I was told by
[redacted] staff was the final information on the loan terms.  Nor was I contacted further about the pending
[redacted] loan application until I was told by email that my loan application
had been rejected.
It is readily verifiable that I had applied for a loan with
another institution at the same time as [redacted], and that I took the loan
out with that bank.  It is unfathomable
that, in these circumstances, I would be told a month later that [redacted] is
rejecting my loan application, and that will be indicated on my credit reports.
Again, SunTrust does not respond to any of this in its reply
letter, and I must reject it.
Regards,
[redacted]
